- In this video i have shown how to install MySQL server in Macbook air/pro M1 and M2 with silicon chip. I will also set the path of mysql in .bash_profile and run the mysql using terminal.

For those who have path problem :
1- touch .zshrc
2- open -t .zshrc
3- write : "export PATH=${PATH}:...." as video & save
4- quit terminal and open new one

Thank you for this video. After I downloaded sql server, .bash_profile is already showing in the terminal so I'm assuming it already has the correct file path and I don't need to complete the file path steps you described after you created the .bash_profile. Is that a correct assumption?

I got the same issue , when I use the terminal it opens name -- -zsh -- and when I run it it says zsh: command not found: mysql -u root -p
Hi for some reason the community server and my workbench are unable to connect and the workbench cant find the Local Instance when i tried putting in the codes and pasting the bin PATH it didnt arrive at the password option. what did i do wrong?
Now there is no option to Choose Mac OS for the community Version. Windows is the only Option. Any other way out. ?

Actually am going to pursue a course on etl tesing( oracle sql based)< informatica tool and i bought an m1 macbook air for that.
But am not sure if i can download and run oracle sql and run informatica tools on this m1 computer.You don’t have to explain me how to download them but just let me know whether i can download and run them on m1 macbook. I guess my problem step password. I tried many way but, there is no password screen and ı can not see when I writin....

make sure server is running, check password used
Why do you selected this version? ( macOS 11 (ARM, 64-bit), DMG Archive )
He is using MAC M1 chip if ur using MAC with intel chip then go with x86

after typing the command in your bash file. Open the terminal and enter this command:
/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -uroot -p

I have done everything as u told but in the end when i wrote mysql -u root -p it is not giving me password instead it is showing “-bash: mysql: command not found” please see into my query and lmk if u can tell me anything about this i am too new for this

Check if the e in export is in lower case or upper. It should be in lower case.
at 4:08 when i type in mysql it says that the zsh : command not found its also now switching to bash at the top of the terminal its still zsh pls help pls and thank you!

bro you have to change you default terminal into bash
for that first write
chsh -s /bin/bash
Then do the same process again.
I did the same. Run the chsh-s /bin/bash and I entered my password to unlock my Mac. When I re-run mysql-u root -p I end up with the same message “zsh: command not found: mysql “ thanks.
