The amount of effort you put into your videos is insane man, I have been a fan of the channel since ROR2 Launch and I have loved all of your videos. Thank you for the great content and hope you have a good day!
Here's a video idea: Enemy Friendly Fire. I'd love to see an in depth video about it, and how to abuse it most. The most obvious example would be the void crabs explosion that kills everything.
I actually like a volvanic egg as a starter on some classes, its some easy extra movement to get across the map and has slight combat potential. Of course I'll replace it when it gets to stage 4 but it aint so bad to start with.
I don't watch streams, but I'm currently laying here sick watching your video and I'm honestly so impressed. Besides having a good personality, and of course play skill, you really go above and beyond most other streamers and RUclips personalities to make content. And this is comparing you to other games other than RoR2. As long as you make content of any type, I'll definitely be a fan.

Kinda sucks rushing for Preon only to get SA, but I try to farm what I can large chests tend to be common on SA.
Ah I love this. For some reason, I can't enjoy a game without knowing the exact details of everything, so I end up spending hours on the wiki. This definitely saved me some time, thanks!
Reminds of my crowning jewel spreadsheet I made at work which automated what used to be 3 full days of manual data input and calculations into a 1 hour job. Excel/Google sheets is addictive in that way, once you start learning formulas you get hooked and start trying to automate everything
Been playing RoR2 since the console release and your videos have made me an all-around better player. I greatly enjoy your videos and the effort you put forth for this stellar content. Thanks and keep up the awesome work. Look forward to the artifacts update for us poor console players, looks like a blast!
Something important to note that some people will probably overlook. High damage should never be your only goal. If you're constantly just waiting for your preon cooldown then you're shit out of luck. You should always mix consistent damage with high damage. Burst will only ever be king as long as you're 1) alive to do it 2) don't fuck it up and 3) not immediately put in another bad situation while you're on cooldown. Risk of Rain 2 is more of a speed game so being able to consistently and quickly kill your small mob groups is important in the early stages. Gotta get them phat chests after all. Bursting down a boss just means you're stuck jerking off for the next minute or so at the teleporter.
Tbh, I kind of want to see a good damage item like thallium come back but in a different way. For those of you who dont know, thallium is the best poison item in ror1, it does MUCH more damage over a longer period than all of the other ones combined. But what I want to see it not just slow, but apply a self-stacking poison buff that the longer it's in effect, the more damage it does. Additionally, focus crystal effects poisoned enemies near you, so there is synergy to be had there. Not sure if anyone else is as hopeful for something like that as I am, but I happen to like burn/bleed despite how much it sucks.
Woolie! You've probably heard this 100 times now, but have you seen Synthetik? Similar premise in separate runs, items and weapons you gotta find, ect... Give it a look? You might like it!

Oh hey, this vid is relevant to a question I had about your multiplayer meta video! It was basically who should take ATGs, an Artificer or an engineer.
Nkuhanas doesn't do damage based on the base damage stat. It does damage based on your health, as each one fires when you heal 10% of your health and does damage equal to 250% of that.
Helloooooo Woolie, could you talk about the shrines of order? Your thoughts about them if theyre worth it etc. I couldnt find a vid that really is about that subject love ur vids btw ;)
using a shrine of order is basically paying to end your run, the only case they are worth it is early game and you have some trash items and a few good ones and you decide it could be worth it to try and stack all those as one good one.
Shrine of order is a meme. Your white items get turned into portable shield generators if you aren't transcendence or fungus if you aren't engineer. Your red items get turned into clovers to taunt you for your lack of on-hits Your yellow items get turned into pearls Don't even get me started on lunars. It finds the specific way in which it will make you regret picking it up.
Would you ever be interested in incorporating other stats that have multiple different items claiming multiplication or addition to help get a feel for how they work and/or work it into a video? Stuff like health, regen, and armour that are maybe less complex than damage tends to get but still weird.
I honestly find your videos very respectable especially this one because you give the option to dislike. That my friend is how you know your a wholesome/non-egofilledRUclipsr
Idk man attack speed acts as a multiplier in most damage calcs. To determine dps, you calculate hit damage, then multiply by the hits per second (attack speed). So the only times scaling initial hit would be better is if you've hit the point of diminishing returns on attack speed increases (if they're all additive increases) and not on damage increases, OR if there is some damage over time affect applied that scales off of initial hit and doesn't stack. In this game, I believe all attack speed increases are additive and there are way more ways you can scale hit damage (every step in the proc chain, % damage, etc) so as a rule of thumb, I guess you can scale initial hit with a larger variety of items but I don't think ignoring attack speed or trading all your syringes in at printers is a good idea.
I would not do that if you are planning on fighting the last boss. 4th stage means one little hit from a shard = Heat-seeking 1000000% damage coming your way. Dread it. Run from it. The ATG arrives all the same.
Hello! I might have found a thing. A combo of items that had what seemed like a near un ending Proc chain...which I never got to find out if there was a true ending because the game froze and then crashed. (Playing on Switch) This was playing with the command artifact so keep in mind that getting all this in a normal run is not realistic buuuuuut here is the items you need. 2X 57 leaf clover 2X sentient meat hooks 2x Molten Perforator 3X Ukulele Very pretty fireworks happened which was my initial goal. My question is this: Is this an infinite Proc Chain? And I guess the next question is, if you play on a PC can you use this to start a few chains and then go AFK to win?
As far as the devs explain it isn't possible to have an infinite proc chain. For instance, lets say the meathook procs molten perforator, the fireballs from molten perforator launch out and hit things proccing Ukulele, the Ukulele hits things, but it *cannot* proc molten perforator or meathook, because those items were in the proc chain already. You could put them in any order, any one of those could proc any of the others, but they can't repeat. Some other fourth thing would have to occur to start a new chain, like attacking something with your primary attack etc.
Hey Mr. Streamer, big fan :D. While trying to make my own tool for dps calculation I was referencing your spreadsheet and noticed something off. Not trying to take away from all the work that it obviously took, but in the proc chain probabilities it looks like you added instead of multiplied. As in an ATG proccing a Kjaro's should be 10% * 8% = 0.8%, not 10% + 8%, etc. All the chain damage is really overinflated.
If you don't want people to edit the red cells on the sheet, you should lock the red cells and then protect the sheet. Cool vid, cheers for doing the work for us lazy asses
the entire sheet is locked and must be downloaded (and ran locally) to edit anything because, otherwise, if more than 1 person were using the online version at a time, the numbers would constantly be changing for everyone there and that wouldn't be fun I believe if I locked the cells, uploaded it and then someone downloaded, they could then just unlock the cells themselves but you're right, it would save a lil bit of headache
so if i have a tri tip, to get it to prock more times i should look for diffrent proc items because at each point in the proc chain it has a chance to start its dammage
yes, items that can proc would stack the bleed more frequently but the damage of the bleed itself is still not worth, due to only scaling off of base damage. it will be a VERY small portion of your overall damage and the items that are proc'ing it will be do far more dmg themselves
Focus Crystals OP?! I'm only relatively new to RoR2 so please let me know if anything I'm saying is off by a mile, but given that they multiply each damage instance in a proc chain doesn't that make focus crystals ridiculously good in any significant chain (obviously the longer possible chain you have the better, so the more chainable items the more this stacking multiplier will add up). Consider maxing your crit to 100% chance with 10 glasses (or 9 + scythe/pred). This means your first hit in the chain is guaranteed to crit, causing double damage to the entire chain overall compared to a non-crit. Even with 2 focus crystals, a length-2 chain (lets say basic attack > AtG) in the focus range will have a 1.4 multiplier on the basic attack and a 1.96 multipler on the AtG (as it will be calculated off of the 1.4x basic attack and get to double dip off of focus crystals) -sidenote; only for total damage chains. That means your AtG is essentially the same damage as if you had no focus crystals and crit on the first attack (which again, requires 9 glasses and 2 greens or 10 glasses to guarantee). Given that any proc chain by 6+M or looping should be of significant length assuming either an abundance of possible chain components (basic attack > atg/firebandiceband/stickybomb/uke/hooks/perforator_charged/perforator_molten), this can rapidly amp a proc chain into exponential bonuses given the **slight*** caveat (xd) of having to be in focus range. Put differently, we know that 0% crit -> 100% crit scales your damage from 100% -> 200% overall. if you were to sacrifice 5 crit glasses for focus crystals, instead of dealing 200% damage consistently, you would deal 150% damage consistently with 2^(proc chain length) multiplier while in focus range. For a 3 length chain that is 1200% compared to 200%. For a 2 length chain that is 600% compared to 200%. For a 1 length chain (no procs, just the initial hit - rip rng) that is still 300% compared to 200%. All in all, as far as I'm aware (and without much particular testing) as soon as you have decent chains going focus crystals appear to have significantly higher power levels than crit glasses, crowbars, armour piercing etc. While you may be sitting there reading this thinking "But there's NO way you can be in focus crystal range at all times its simply not consistent". It seems to me, to be the ONLY exponential damage multiplier that can be stacked reliably. The closest you can get is shaped glass (with a.. significant downside of being killable), as well as perma spinel (which requires additional setup as well). And since every build tends to trend towards proc chains as the game progresses, even without significant numbers of focus crystals it should be well worth your while to find a way to use and abuse the exponential scaling of focus crystal damage for EACH INSTANCE OF DAMAGE IN A PROC CHAIN. Crit doesn't get to double dip. Focus crystals get to double dip, triple dip, quadruple dip and so on and so forth for each and every proc you hit. And yes there is a diminishing chance of lengthy proc chains reducing the abusiveness of exponential scaling on focus crystals but that's why we have clover right :)).
nevermind everyone :(( I have fact checked myself. The phrasing could have been better in the video (and I'm not sure if a recent video has been put out that explains this and this is just slightly dated), but the focus crystal damage multiplier never actually double dips. The way it works is that it is recalculated on every instance of damage, however the damage feeding into the calculation is ALWAYS taken as if focus crystal did not benefit it. IE, if you royal capacitor in focus range, it will get the 3000%*(1+(0.2*focus crystals)) modifier, however any items proc'd by the capacitor (even if considered TOTAL damage) will calculate the incoming damage as the 3000% without the focus crystal buff. For example, an AtG (1 stack) off the royal capacitor will have incoming 3000% damage even if you were in focus range on the capacitor, and multiply to 9000% using regular total damage calculations. As the rocket connects, it will recalculate whether the rocket is in focus crystal range, and if it is then the (1+(0.2*focus crystals)) multipler will be added. Unfortunately this means that the exponential proc chain value off of crystals does not exist, and definitely isn't uber abusable.
I know this is a REALLY old video, but if focus crystal is double negated by armor values, could they be double buffed by negative armor from scorpion or hammer?
So lemme get this straight, sorry it’s a tough subject, so if commando shoots and has a ukulele that ukulele procs it’s regular percentage of the time. Then assuming that ukulele hits, it has a chance per enemy hit to then Proc an atg however it’ll only be .2*10% chance?
Been playing this with my buddies. We usually shoot for 100% crit chance because why the fuck not. So usually a mix between glasses, predatory instincts (the headdress), and harvester scythe. we started off doing just 10 glasses but realized we could do less, and throw in 2 predatory instincts and 2 harvester scythes. I had one game where we made it to level 9 (one loop extra) and I had 10 scythes, 3 behemoths, 5 rejuvenation racks, an aegis, with various whites and greens.... i literally won the 9th level boss, ready to go to 10th, and i randomly died from an explosion that came out of nowhere. i think it proced when the boss died? either way was kinda shitty to die like that considering how well i was doing. i feel like the game needs double the items to make it more fun. you generally end up trying the same loadout over and over with minor tweaks to see how far you can get.... so far the furthest ive been is level 9 (one loop)
Do you have any clue how damage calculations are handled for heavy? I'm 99 percent sure that its a pretty big multiplier so Loader/Mult-i would do Base dmg*Ability ratio*Velocity but I can't find exact values anywhere.
So if I get this right, if there's an ATG from a chest for example, it would be better for the Artificer who deals high damage over the Commando even if he has a couple of Syringes ?
Not necessarily - Artificer's abilities dont have quite enough damage versus Commando's proc rate. It's more of a comparison between stacking damage items versus attack speed and looking at ability damage versus equipment
Maybe I missed it in the video, but I was wondering about damage values during a proc chain. For instance, you said an AtG missile is 300% of the commando's attack value based on whatever move you used (so 10.8 with a level 1 primary). But let's say that the AtG starts a proc chain. Is the subsequent procs in that chain also based on the 10.8, or is it based on the damage value of the item that proc'd it? Like, would a ukelele in that chain have damage based on the 10.8, or would it be based on the 32 of the missile?
Based on the hit (item, ability, doesn't matter) that started the chain. An ATG can't start a chain because you have to proc it via other hits but something like a Will o the Wisp can due to being the "first hit"
wait how would you have 50 increased attack speed from start? the only item that stacks attack speed is soldier syringe (i am not counting predstinct do to the whole caveat of you must crit to get the effect) which increases attack speed in increments of 15.
Nice calculator it looks like it does not handle clovers really well, should the % to dps not be calculated where all the percantages is multiplied together, it looks like you add them together, with 1 clover it should not be that ATG into stick have a 112% chance of occuring but it should have a 17,8% chance of occuring
What does the proc in "proc coefficient" mean? My guess is "probability coefficient" but then "proc coefficient" would mean "probability coefficient coefficient" Somebody help me
"proc" is just a synonym for "activation". I BELIEVE (not 100%) it is an acronym for "procedural random occurrence" which has now evolved into just a common gaming term
@@Woolie thanks for the fast answer lul. I just searched the internet a bit and found out it actually means "Programmed random occurance" but has the same meaning as you described

When wollie said "Commando mains rise up"
I felt that......
*Fist in the air*
damn people actually stood up?
Commando Mains RISE UP
Is Mithrix considered a TP boss?
I'm just sad you didn't pick up the legendary on sirens call after killing the eye unit
Yeah proc chains are nice and all but early game Loader can clear stage 4 with a chronobauble and a medkit
Do you have any clue how damage calculations are handled for heavy? I'm 99 percent sure that its a pretty big multiplier so Loader/Mult-i would do Base dmg*Ability ratio*Velocity but I can't find exact values anywhere.
As a new player in this game I can proudly say I understand nothing, ty very much, I shall be back 100 times until I get it.
How would the damage work for Wisp > Gasoline / Sticky Bomb? Ive seen if a few times but never sure how the numbers work.
4:14 - Is this your second run, or how did you unlock "The Basics" during this run?
the footage was from the One Run challenge
@@Woolie Oh ok, I gotcha, thanks!
What about, nnukahana killing, creating 3 knives (ceremonial dagger) which crits and heals me (aegis) and procs nukahanas again...
Mans got a PHD in RiskOfRainomics
Oh so shaped glass stacks like if you have 5 of em it becomes 5x5x5x5x5, or is it just whit different items?
so you are telling me that if i use a total damage item for example ˝atg˝ and i proc it whit ˝captains diablo strie˝ it deals 120,000% damage?
I was there!
Commando Mains RISE UP!!
I'm new to Risk of Rain and I don't know if there is any point to overcap proc chance (like having more than 10 crit lenses)
An ATG can't start a chain because you have to proc it via other hits but something like a Will o the Wisp can due to being the "first hit"
how do I ban clay templars from spawning please and thank you
Never - take it like a man
wait how would you have 50 increased attack speed from start? the only item that stacks attack speed is soldier syringe (i am not counting predstinct do to the whole caveat of you must crit to get the effect) which increases attack speed in increments of 15.
And that is why loader is busted! 2700% damage procs those juicy ATG numbers
Yea but you have to play loader tho
@@jmoseph767 Loader is fun!
Nice calculator it looks like it does not handle clovers really well, should the % to dps not be calculated where all the percantages is multiplied together, it looks like you add them together, with 1 clover it should not be that ATG into stick have a 112% chance of occuring but it should have a 17,8% chance of occuring
F. (For the stick bomb printer)
What does the proc in "proc coefficient" mean?
My guess is "probability coefficient" but then "proc coefficient" would mean "probability coefficient coefficient"
Somebody help me
"proc" is just a synonym for "activation".
I might just be clueless but what is a proc
I’m very new to the game have no idea what it is
why woolie big smart
You dont need proc chains if everything is slow, Mr Streamer
All I gotta know is kaboom items blow stuff up 😎
how do I know how much damage my N'kuhana can deal when I have 25k health?
it really be do like dat sometimes do
