Cross is the most fun you will ever have racing a bike! Good luck on the new season! Looking forward to watching more videos!

Thanks! Genuinely looking forward to it. I've acquired more skills in a month than I have in forty years on the road (not that I haven't enjoyed every minute of it). I just need to make sure my ambition doesn't get ahead of my ability. 👍

@@thedurhamcow3535 A beautiful sport that I wish I would have had access to as a junior rider all those years ago. The skills and lessons acquired make road so much easier. Each race brings learning opportunities. I'm still finding new and exciting ways to lose. It's a process, just focus on making improvements with each race and the results will take care of themselves. As for tips. 1. Starts are important (Spots you lose are spots you have to make up.) 2. Never assume the rider in front of you is a good bike handler (leave yourself an alternative line). 3. Pre-ride the course (stop and watch how others navigate tricky sections). 4. Ask questions (become a sponge) and watch the elite category races. 5. Have fun! (The most important tip of them all)! You are going to do well!

@@SolidBubba Thanks for the advice - it's much appreciated and you can be sure it will be taken onboard. I've watched an awful lot of RUclips since I made to decision to commit (I honestly thought I was done with competition) and have witnessed all the scenarios you describe but it's good to know what stands out for individual riders. I'm going to do a little vid on the equipment I'll be using (it's a bit retro) and I'd love your feedback on that. All the best and thanks for taking the trouble to comment. Scott
