Love riding santos when visiting family. We are very lucky in the Charlotte area with the amount of trails and varieties that we do have and a short ride to western NC DuPont and Pisgah to name a few.
I’ve always wondered how good the mountain biking is around Charlotte. What are your favorite trail systems there?
Nice, you're right about the /NC trails being much rockier and rooty at least from i can see compared to those. Plenty of Blue trails here have their share of rocks and with my skills i ride with caution, at age 66 i am not looking for injuries.
I am upgrading a few parts on my Jet 9, either 1450 or 1250 gram carbon wheels, cassette, crank, rotors and seat. Sold the cassette in a few hours on EBAY last night and crank has plenty of 'watchers with the 1250 grams wheels i should drop 1000 grams or about 2.3 pounds so shooting for 20-20,5 pounds, now that i finally bought it i cant wait to get all the parts and have it put together. I got the 3 star for $3890.00 shipped and including fees, came from AZ. Nothing like a 20 pound hardtail to fly around some smooth trails and greenways. I like that Sand paint scheme on my bike!!

Hey Clint, cool videos as always. I finally got rid of my hardtail and bought a new Specialized stumpjumper 29er. I'm the one who mentioned how Alafia beat the crap out of me on that hardtail, LOL Anyway, do you think Santos is worth the ride up from Tampa? I'm a travel nurse and I'm only down here until April. Just trying to get the most bang for my buck while I'm down here in beautiful Fla. Any other trails I should be hitting ? Thanks man.
Yes, Santos is worth the drive. Try to spend a whole day up there.

Gained a 50 pounds since 2017 when I quit riding for no good reason. Returned to it this Sunday. Pedals are seized, so I couldn’t switch to flats, but I didn’t fall. Lol

Interesting terrain--way different than the desert Southwest. I've been dreaming of Bentonville. Have you been there yet?

Bentonville is about a four hour drive from me. I went there this summer and figured our my 26inch wheels didn't cut it.
