  • When Leah got a call on a Sunday morning from her employer, she had no idea she was going to spend the next 7 months in police custody, no trial, no hearing, no nothing.
She also had no idea those 7 months would change her life forever. The police officers took turns on her and as a result Leah is now HIV Positive but determined to make everyday count
This mother of five will leave you wanting to continue with life no matter what.
On this 7 episode series dubbed Pain to Power, we will feature stories of women from prison both locally and international and lay focus on one organization by the name Clean Start and how they are helping reintegrate these women back to the society

Lynn, please find out if she can identify the policemen who raped & infected her with HIV, their badge numbers etc. Besides that, The police boses have the details of the names of the officers who were stationed there during the time Leah was in that Cell. Let us get Justice for Leah. Those policemen who infected her should be behind bars, even the female officers who were privy to these crimes taking place should also be brought to book. If left to go Scott free, they are probably continuing with this behaviour & who knows how many women & girls they have raped & infected in those cells in Bungoma & any where else that they may have been posted. Let us STOP them as a community! Otherwise, we fail Leah & all other 'Leahs'. I am a very upset Mum.

    Dear Leah,
I watched your story, and I cried the entire time. I am extremely pissed off because of how your fellow human beings treated you. I am even more pissed off and heart broken by the fact that your own relatives, and that policewoman did not offer any kind of support to you.
Please do not let your condition define who you are. You are a wonderful woman, with a kind and forgiving heart.
I know having to take all those medications daily can be very stressful and depressing. Please just set a time of the day and/or night to be taking them. Look on the bright side. At least those medications can sustain you for as long as God wants you on this earth. It's a fact that people with that condition have lived longer than people who have been healthy all their lives, or people with other illnesses like cancer.
A perfect example is my own mother who died at the age of 43, due to stomach cancer. She left very young children behind. My youngest sibling was only 3. My prayer is for you to live long enough to be able to see not only your great grandchildren, but also your greatest grandchildren.
I need you to understand that there's a difference between family and relatives. Family is not always blood, but relatives are connected to you by blood like your mother, father and sister who didn't care about you or your innocence.
Family is people like us~ the Lynn Ngugi Show viewers and fans. Please know that you have now become part of our family, and we will support you and your children to the best of our ability, be it spiritually, emotionally or financially.
Thank you so much for having the courage to tell your story. You will now be the voice of the forgotten and mistreated women in those horrible cells. Your story will give other women hope, and the courage to also tell their stories.
Please know that each and every person who was responsible for your suffering, will meet the wrath of God, and justice will also be served.
May God continue to bless you and your children.🙏🏾
    With lots of love,
    ~Mama Mia

It's great that you're picking up however gradual it may be, it's happening. I pray that you never give up and continue with your HIV treatment. My mum got HIV over 30years ago and has been on treatment 20years this year and she has been able to even to see her great grandchildren all thanks to HIV treatment, you too can see your children grow up to become parents.
My wish is that this pain you feel everytime you're taking the medication can subsidized. I understand how it feels cause I saw my mum struggle with the medication on a daily basis. Hopefully the support group of people living with HIV in her area are functional and active to keep her encouraged to continue medication, that's the only way that pain will go with time.
