I think this hero is very good for midplayers & all level f2p. With guan yu we able to counter speedy Black twins & desdemona. Although DT' trait full of problem.
I think you built him.wrong truthfully. I think defense is priority. It says at a fixed ratio for conversion which doesn't mean 1:1 it could be 100:1. Try going raw defense and see what happens.

it does say " at a fixed ratio" maybe it does like a 10% " would be helpfull to know ratios and stuff from ACE

He converts defense for inactive period. Not during his turn
