Nice runner and starts as I would expect it too. Probably the best Engine range RA Lister ever built. This one even has the original Dynamo and starter. I repaired a lot of these over the years, arrr yes, ‘let me breath in and out’!!.
I love these engines. Their sound is awesome. There was exactly the same one installed on the forecastle deck of the ship I once worked on. It used to run the windlass. I enjoyed the sound of this machine a lot. But it wasn't very easy to start in cold weather.
Had one of these that drove a centrifugual 6" water pump we used on a canal restoration project, emptying a 60' x 15' canal lock. It was started by the handle only & in the winter certainly raised one's blood-pressure. I'm sure that directing a gas torch into the air intake would have made it start easier. The pump would handle the liquid filth happily. Good British Engineering.
I Learnt my trade on these old girls.. Could never stop oil leaks even after rebuilds. The best part was the hand starts after full rebuilds and full loadings. Fill the WS with black smoke.
I just spent my Day today working on one of these, she sat for 6 years, though sadly she seized up over that time. Pulled the injectors sprayed some lube down into the cylinders let it sit for an hour, gently worked the crank back and forth and she broke free and spins over easily now, just waiting on the injectors to get back from being tested, and the new gasket kit, and she should be ready to go ,
Years ago i worked on a island out in the pacific .We had one of these to run the generator during the day to keep the (beer) Fridge cold. it was worn out and would drink around 1 liter of Det 30 oil every day .The compression was so low it could be cranked easily although a piece of burning cardboard in the intake was reqquired.it never failed to start though.
i have one of this engine but im trying to call the manufacture but its no use i need piston rings and main bearings do u have anyone i can contact for these parts

Love the sound of a Lister diesel engine.
Starter motor also depends on engine rotation and can be identified through their serial numbers.
