Great job on the video, keep going at it! I hear it's great to upgrade the basket and people go to 70ml of coffee with 18grams of coffee. I use it as you did an find the coffee to be quite good. However, I'm not dying for espresso but I absolutely looove long black so I add 80-100ml of water to that 36mls of coffee and it's delicious. Also, I like to use a light-roasted coffee so I don't get the crema.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video. It's fascinating how people customize their coffee experience, and I appreciate you sharing your approach. For the basket, I haven't considered changing it yet, as it has consistently delivered great results for me. By the way, I'm always open to experimenting with new techniques, so I might just experiment with your suggestions. Thanks again for sharing your insights, and happy brewing!

I have the pico and the Lagom mini grinder too! can i ask where you got the pump for the grinder? as you know from experience, retention is a minor issue with the Lagom, every now a then a gram is left in the pipe. I'm still debating on the guage. Do you know a reference that list the types of profiles that are out there? Something like a database of Decent profiles would be a great learning reference.

Hey there! Great to hear you have the Picopresso and Lagom mini grinder combo too! For the bellow, I got it from www.taobao.com(chinese ebay), and it works like a charm. As for profiles, a comprehensive database is a fantastic idea! I recommend checking out www.home-barista.com/ where coffee enthusiasts often share and discuss various profiles. It's a valuable resource for learning and experimenting with different setups. If you have any more questions or want to share your experiences, feel free to chat more about it! ☕👍

Thanks for the video! Have you ever looked into upgrading the basket? I haven’t yet and have been doing some research and wondered if you had any thoughts?

Upgrading to a high-end basket, such as an IMS basket, always results in a better cup of espresso. However, I would prefer adding a puck screen as well; it's a cost-effective upgrade with significant benefits. The puck screen helps distribute water evenly, reduces the chance of channeling, and slows down extraction time, allowing us to grind coarser.

Thanks so much. Will order the IMS la pavoni and screen then now… thanks for the help!

Practicing is more important than the gauge, I do pump a better espresso with creme without using the gauge. Also, when traveling, the gauge is a burden.

I will wash the chamber that the coffee went through; however, I will not wash the gauge. For the gauge, just use a wet towel and wipe it clean.

The pico was meant for travel. All those silly accessories are absolutely unncessary. Especially when at home and theres an e61 machine.
