    I was just watching a video from Kate Arnell (Eco Boost) and she said she finds cotton flannels better than reusable cotton rounds because they wash up easier and you don't have to throw them in the laundry as often. That might be something to try out for makeup removing! (especially if you get flannels in darker shades like charcoal or grey)

    There's a great quote from 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' (the book, not sure if it's in the film): "it's tacky to wear diamonds before you're forty; and even that's risky. They only look right on the really old girls (...) Wrinkles and bones, white hair and diamonds: I can't wait."
    I've always found it really wonderful that this character who's held to be a style icon actively looks forward to getting older, which has helped me with this fear of ageing that's drilled into women.
    Also I'd check out the Ageless Dailies series on StyleLikeU if you haven't already - they interview these phenomenal, stylish and fearless older women and it's super inspirational, these are my favs: ruclips.net/video/UsRxpLelqg0/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/3-HIEjniUOI/видео.html

    Have you tried the Palmers Oil cleanser? I'll do a double cleanse with it and it'll remove all my makeup without the need of makeup remover or cotton rounds. And in regards to toner, I'll pour some into the palms of my hand and pat it into the skin as opposed to rubbing it on the skin with a cotton round.

    • @MarionHoney
      @MarionHoney 6 лет назад

      I have not but I do see that Palmer's are on the Logical Harmony 'Pending Brands' list. I think I'm going to stick with my cleansing balm after I finish up the makeup remover from this video. Thank you though!

    i once saw on facebook someone use crochet pads in place of cotton pads. i personally just use a flannel, but i don't use makeup, so no need to worry about quantity or staining laundry, i just use one end a day and another the following day and throw it in the wash.

    • @MarionHoney
      @MarionHoney 6 лет назад

      Oh yep, flannels are my cleansers best buddies too :) I found the fibres from the crochet pads I have too transferred to my face and did not remove eye makeup well, boo.

    I tried some reusable cotton rounds but found most of the toner soaked into the material so I would have to use a lot more to get the same amount of product actually onto my face. For eye make up I use cream remover which is nice and moisturising and I can just apply it with my fingers. It then smears/dislodges (??) the eyeliner instantly then I can just wash it straight off

    • @MarionHoney
      @MarionHoney 6 лет назад

      YES. This is exactly it. The reusables eat up more product to get the same results. Bummer. Yeah, I think I am going to stick with my cleansing balm + wash cloth as my all-over makeup remover. Live and learn.

    you should look on etsy for the reusable cotton pads. you can get them in different colors/styles which might help with them looking so dirty.

    • @MarionHoney
      @MarionHoney 6 лет назад

      I think I'll have the same problem of them absorbing too much product to get the same results but thank you!

    how do you find these brands?! I know the majority of brands Sanne talks about, so I am more familiar with their cf stance, but the brands you talk about Marion are very different - do you do the research yourself to find out if they are cruelty free or? I hope that doesn't come across as sceptical, cause it isn't intended to sound like I'm doubting you, I'm just genuinely curious! I definitely want to try any brand that does great organic skincare in glass and plastic free, yes yes and yes!

      Same here - I get all my knowledge from these guys! Maybe derpinamode have a derpinamode?

    • @queenlucysroyalmaid1
      @queenlucysroyalmaid1 6 лет назад

      They have their own list - these brands aren't on it, but they link to other lists... I'm unsure though, about other lists. Maybe a future video?

      It's a mix of places - I follow people in the green beauty community like Teri Miyahira and Katie Vibes, brands find us and reach out, and I look at the "natural" lines retailers start carrying, be it at big guns like Sephora or at Planet Organic in the UK. If brands are small, UK & EU-based with a priority for natural ingredients, cruelty free often comes hand-in-hand as you don't have the parent company problem. But I always do my own research before buying, yup! Hope this helps :)

    Not sure if it'd be any different but you can find a bunch of different reusable cotton rounds on Etsy.

      Aw, thank you! I have a couple different kinds that I already don't use because I feel like they eat up so much product and start looking gross so quickly. Think I'll probably stick to balm cleansers for makeup remover after I finish up the SW Makeup Remover. Trial and error!

    The co-founder of glowrecipe (@christine_glow) actually recommends taking the Whamisa flower toner in the palm of your hands and patting into your face for the most moisturizing and softening results. She has a post on insta where she talks about it, if you're feeling bad about the cotton round usage you could try using it that way!

    • @MarionHoney
      @MarionHoney 6 лет назад

      I will try that and see how it goes - thank you!

    College gave me the bad habit of sleeping in my makeup. I have been out of school for almost a year, and I still do it because I work late. When I do, I know I will wake up to acne. It's a hard habit for me to get out of. :(

    • @kukadoodles

      maybe keep a bottle of micellar water and some cotton pads on your bedside table - that way you can take off your makeup right in bed and pass out

    • @MarionHoney
      @MarionHoney 6 лет назад

      It is a hard habit to break, I can relate! Kukadoodles comment below is a great thing to try. Keeping those two things right next to my bed helped me when I wore makeup more often. And so much better than stripping your skin with makeup wipes.

    Cotton instead of paper labels? I don't know...I think that cottons needs a lot more water and destroys a lot more soil than a tree...Sounds like marketing maybe?
