I was the same as you. After all, I bought both. volca is easy to input patterns, but you can only save up to eight and you can't connect patterns. There are 3 oscillators, so if you play them at the same time, the sound will be strong. The TD-3 can store many patterns, and you can connect and play patterns. But, pattern input is difficult. It's my experience, I hope it will be helpful.
