Our friend graduated from Cadet to Officer of the California Highway Patrol at a memorable ceremony in Sacramento, California in March of 2017. filmed on a Sony a7s ii at 120 fps.
Dude we are so similar, I am suppose to graduate in may 2018 but I am gonna finish early in dec of this year,I was gonna take emt also but thats more classes and plus your gonna get emt certified in the academy.Im just tryna finish school you know how that is
Have you guys ever considered a state trooper job outside of California? Such as Texas Highway Patrol? I turned down the CHP to finish up my degree for a variety of reasons...
Don’t get a degree in Law Enforcement. Any Officer you ask will tell you how useless and impractical that degree will be unless you plan on teaching it. Get military experience, 4 years of military will look great when you apply and if you ever move into a Federal level job military experience will be preferred.
Navy! CHP prefers applicants with an extensive military background and you are almost guaranteed a job! Especially if your service is law enforcement. It will make your life at their CHP Academy (a paramilitary style academy) MUCH easier and you will be familiar with just about every aspect of law enforcement. CHP receive many, and I mean, many applicants with "criminal justice" degrees and that is virtually useless. I'm not sure about the Navy, but with the Air Force, you can take criminal justice courses and earn an AA in criminal justice through the AF college. The Navy might offer a similar opportunity. In short, go with the Navy and start getting world-class hands-on experience in law enforcement. Good luck, and maybe I will see you at the CHP Academy or on the road someday! *I am applying to CHP as well! :) --Air Force Security Forces (military police) Airman
Join the Marine Corps. Try to get MPs. If you can’t get MPs, go into the Infantry. Get your Bachelors degree while you are in the Corps. If you can do an accelerated Bachelors program, then try for your Masters. Apply to CHP, a year before your end of active service date. You will be a shoe in. I guarantee you.
Great video. This only motivated and inspired me even more to become a CHP officer. I'll be applying once I finish off my BA degree.
Abraham Rodriguez apply 6 months before you get your degree, so about the time you finish hopefully you ll start the academy after you graduate
Thanks man. I will but I still have 1 year and a half until graduation day. I am also debating whether I should start and EMT program or not.
