The city on the hillside was amazing. Some of the further away houses looked vulnerable to avalanche. It was cool how you met the Man with his two Dogs and he got to put the sticker on. The Salt flat was really beautiful. I loved your pictures of tiny Albo. Loved the drone footage of Albo driving on the endless flats. How great that your friends showed up in the middle of nowhere.
I have to say WOW to the approach to the salar de uyuni. What a view! So interesting how the salt piles up in those lines to make the shapes. I wonder if that was an ancient ocean that was lifted and then evaporated. I'll have to look it up. Thanks for explaining the diesel situation. Interesting. Still catching up on your videos. I dont want to skip any and i want to watch them on the tv instead of my phone to see everything better.❤ I forgot to say that the photos of mini albo were so fun!

OMG...it's Friday night and it's popcorn and a movie! How fun! Crazy meet up. obviously it was meant to be! Love the peeps you meet!!! Poo on the salt flats...ewww!😅
Albo in that salt gives me the creeps. Please wash it every chance you can in a salt free area until you feel confident. I like Albo a lot, and would hate for it to be eaten up. The fine salt dust off the tires gets everywhere and has to be wiped down with a damp rag several times. it's sneaky. I'd like to see you get Albo through the whole trip, and back home in one piece. I mentioned we used to race $100 pieces of crap cars on our local salt lake, and they rusted away in months. Next season we would get another junker for the new season. The only rules were it had to cost no more than $100, and you had to drive it stock. Great fun for a bunch of young hippies 49+ years ago 😎
Very creative artistic video. I am not a fan of the Salt Flats it just seems like such a waste of space, but like always if you did a great job with the video and it just adds to your amazing adventure! 👍🏻👍🏻❤🙏🏻🙏🏻
Amazing place - it looked like an ocean from far off. Bit of a nightmare if the tide came in while you were in the middle of it. Those shots of Albo crossing the salt flats will be some of the most iconic of the whole expedition I think. The mini-Albo ones were good too - made me laugh.
Next town/city look for a cheap 12v vacuum cleaner. If you don’t have one when you land in Australia, I will buy one for you. Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre in Australia is almost the same size but you wouldn’t drive on it as you will sink. P.S. It’s toilet not bathroom. Where’s the bath? Lol. Thanks for the vid. 👍🏻🙏🦘

That’s a lot of salt! Ya I would be hosing it down like crazy once I got out of it. Living in northern Michigan and going to the car wash all through winter, the cars and trucks still start rusting in like 6 years. It was still cool too see though.
What an amazing video. I really enjoy your perspective in each video. You never know who you will encounter and I believe it is destiny when the unexpected occurs. Continues safe travels to you both!!!

Guys, 💑Thanks for sharing your dive cross the Salar de Uyuni. 🌍You always seem to meet friends on the road. To meet in the middle of the world's biggest salt flats what are the odds. 🚙🚐🚑Glad you got Albow washed off all that salt. Love your channel stay safe and happy exploring Bolivia. Cheers 🍺🍺🤵
So much I could say about this one. The mountain in the beginning was amazing, the drone shots great, the music very fitting. the serendipitiy of meeting up with the Swiss people. the salt flats amazing too. But, how could you have any concern about pooping on the surface of the salt flat and just leaving it. Animals do that all the time. It will just dry out, shrivel up, and eventually be battered by the salt and wind and blow away. Besides that, it is bio matter. Nothing bad about it. Not in the middle of a huge salt desert. Next time you are in a desert, don't worry about burying it, unless you want to. So, you are not going down through Patagonia? I once saw a TV program where a guy traveled the length of Patagonia. Very cool trip. Better bring a lot of fuel down there. Bon voyage, ou bon expedition. PS. Do you know that the dinosaurs did not bury their poop? It is found by scientists and studied to determine what they ate. If you leave your poop, maybe scientists in a million years will study it to detemine what you ate! So, support future scientists and leave them something to study! 😀
Good point !!! Hahahaa no did not know about the dinosaurs 😍 interesting indeed Yes we re heading toward there should do that end of December something like this
@@NextMeridianExpedition When I was a teenager, I had a job mowing the lawn at the Post Office in town. There was a big lawn out back that people used as a bathroom for their dogs. Once in a while, I would hit a fresh one, or step in it. Eeew. I hated the fresh ones. However, if they were there for a while, they would get hard and dry. They were no problem. Anyway, poop is just a problem when there are people around, for many reasons, such as neatness, disease, or attraction of animals. Since you do not have those issues in the desert, or most wild places, there should be no concern. I wish the people who pooped their dogs on that lawn picked up after their dogs, but in 1962, nobody did that. Some things have changed in a big way. For instance, a single woman would never have traveled with a man. Her reputation would have been damaged forever. You would have had to be married before you left. Matilde's parents would have demanded it.

To give some perspective as to how huge the salt flat is: 10,000 sq km = 3861 sq miles. The ENTIRE States of Delaware, AND Rhode Island, AND the City of Houston Tx will fit there with room to spare! Puerto Rico is 3459 Sq miles. The Bonneville Salt flats in Utah is a measly 46 Sq miles.
