for the chords on chordify how do you know what extra notes to add? for example in the beginning of the chorus of fancy i saw the basic amaj chord but on your midi it was amaj9. basically im just wondering if i should be adding extra to the chords or just transpose the basic chord that chordify shows. sorry for such a basic ass question im new at this 😭
basically i always turn them into maj7, maj9, min7, min9, using the bass chord just to make it sound more full as well as adding the root notes an octave lower. but just do it according to what sounds good to you, for me the basic chord sounds too thin
@@da1konsoup no problem, usually chordify has the chords lined up with the vocals pretty well so yeah usually based on the vocals. if not then you kinda gotta guess or do whatever sounds good
listen to the loop u got going for a bit and try and hear what u think should “be there.” i cant stress enough how easy it becomes when you focus on listening for what should be there or what the beat needs. similar technique i use for singing. also try doing that but humming at the same time to find a melody then try and replicate it as a lead. lastly try starting of with like a super simple lead, like insanely simple like 2 different notes going back and forth or something, then just keep chopping it up and adding to it. hope this helps🙏🏻
