Books were better. In this movie Percy Jackson is so whiny and he cannot even think for himself he needs his dad to constantly tell him what to do. Other than that the film is good. But books are better
If it makes one read the books then it is worth it. But yeah hero that only does what others tell him is not very interesting. At least it has good CGI.
