Yeah that wouldn't be too much - what company has that incredible deal? it would've been $400 for us for the less than 2 weeks we were there. We went with Europecar.
Happy Hoppe . I hire regularly in Spain and I get standard insurance with excess €1200 and deal directly with the car hire company, never a broker. I then go to carhireexcess.ie and do a daily rate of €2.99 which covers everything that might go wrong up to the €1200. They are also at carhireexcess.com and will do annual cover . Loved your video and hope you enjoyed Ireland !
Do not dream of renting a car at Dublin Airport in 2022. It is a complete ripoff. I recently got prices from the top five car rental companies and they were all in the $2200 to $4500 for a car for two weeks. I called a company in Newry Co. Down and I got the same car for two weeks for a total of $750 including insurance. Just jump on the Bus at area 14 and it takes you straight to Newry fifty five minutes. Everything in the republic of Ireland seems to a ripoff right now. And a lot of the foreign staff in the hotels and restaurants are less than friendly to Americans and some of them make it quite obvious.
Hi there, I’ll be going to Ireland next month. And intend on renting a car while I’m there. I know if you don’t take there insurance and have coverage via your credit card they charge you anywhere from $5000-$7000 deposit. But I wasn’t sure what you meant about the additional fees for going Northern Ireland. Would you mind elaborating please. Thanks so much.
Since Northern Ireland is a different country, the rental car companies (at least the one we went with) charged extra if you were going there. there’s GPS tracking in the car, so it’s better to tell them upfront and pay the fee, because after the fact, the fee was much higher! Enjoy your time in Ireland 🇮🇪😁
Really you are giving out cause of high crime in Dublin even though America is way worse it’s so much Seder to find crime in Ireland than America but if you must know places to avoid then avoid outskirts of Dublin limerick and southern Waterford
My husband is a solo- entrepreneur website designer, media & marketing guru - a company he started 6 years prior to us taking off to travel for a year! it’s nice to be able to work remotely!
For much of our 4.5 months in Europe, we did do public transportation, but it was really nice the few times we did rent a car to be able to explore more of the country, at our own pace. We went all over Ireland 🇮🇪 and also Northern Ireland :)

You didn't realise Northern Ireland was a separate country!
WTF!
That's really ignorant.
You take out excess hire insurance at €3 a day then you are fully covered for any costs.

Dublin is lovely, even coming from a Brit...
Did you need a special adapter to plug iphone into car?
I don’t remember? Sorry.

Why rent a car in Dublin when you could just take public transport? Also, the city isn't *that* dangerous lol, this is EMBARRASSING

Dublin is a dump now. It used to be the best of the best back in the sixties, seventies and eighties. When real Irish people lived in it.
