4:47 You're not crazy. Anybody who at least somewhat knows/understands Japanese can tell you that Al is literally talking exactly like how Subaru talks, everything down to the most minute details. The only difference is that Al refers to Emilia as "miss" and that he's not glazing her like the EMT lover Subaru would 😂
39:20 Subaru actually did forget what to say but everyone liked his new speech so much they ignored it (in the novel they mention they wrote him a script but he said only a few major points from it not the actual speech because he forgot from being nervous)
This is one of the reason why I respect cawcaw the most because of his grind and he is willing to watch this anticipated Re:Zero episode on 7 AM without sleeping yet, much respect to the GOAT. ❤❤❤
It’s the same thing Garfiel was worried about in the Great Rabbit loop in season 2 where he imprisoned him-if Subaru died in that loop, the situation would, as he said, “blow up in my face like the fall of Fort Tesla.”
People will regret dropping Rezero simply because Subaru was weak at first. They have failed to see what is essentially a work of art in progress. Subaru has changed a lot. 🔥🔥
At the same time you can't blame people for dropping Re:Zero after season 1. If you only watch season 1, you could barely derive any meaning from the story other than Subaru being a degenerate weirdo for Emilia and him being tortured over and over again. The biggest crime of the anime was cutting off the Shadow Garden extras in season 1, and *a lot* of extra context was lost. Again, the anime was pretty much just scatterbrained Subaru torture until Arc 4. Unless you chose to watch season 2, you'd just dismiss Re:Zero as a mid amine where some simp got transported into another world and get tortured day in and day out. (Speaking as a Re:Zero fanatic who caught up to the LN)
@@KurouShiro6000nah you can blame people who dropped Re:Zero after they watch ss1, man if you watch the from Zero episode and see Subaru improvement, seeing him kill the whale and archbishop and see him build his relationship with emilia again and still think the story isn't deep, you literally didn't pay attention.
@@Ltmqt The thing is that he made those accomplishments from all of his deaths. AT BEST the most meaningful moment in season 1 was the speech with Rem, but other than that everything that happened after was more or less a consequence of Subaru dying over and over and over again. You'll see a lot of people agree with me on YT that Re:Zero season one was hard to watch because of all of what appeared to be unnecessary deaths (again from the perspective of someone who only watched season one). Tell me, without any content from season 2 or any extra knowledge from the LN, just what deeper meaning can you derive from Subaru's accomplishments? What exactly is the subliminal message in the story that was supposedly there?
@@KurouShiro6000 the thing is that death is necessary in all arcs to progress, he is a normal human, you can't expect him to go in there to fight the whale or the archbishop with the crazy power without mistake. The message is very clear, even though you fail and want to give up, even though the situation is not on your side, you still need to fight and improve and not give in to despair and protect your ideals.
1:36 Someone pointed this detail out and now it's so easy to see it, but behind Al there is a wheel, like a valve. So that might be the valve to open the floodgate, which would point out that Al was the one to open it.
6:05 funny you say that, I remember reading a theory that Naoko was pregnant, hinted by Kenichi calling Subaru "eldest son" and well, time shenanigans and the usual naming conventions
@月探しのミガミ well yeah, that's why there are more points than Kenichi calling his firstborn "eldest". The part that convinced me is something about how Naoko had whims like the breakfast peas even though she clearly dislikes them; or well, maybe she is like that who knows 😂
38:16 Wait a damn minute!? Subaru is supposedly a Sage Candidate, but with this episode he also took the role to become a hero (although a fake one) and he also has Dragon Blood in himself because of Capella. And we all know that the Witch of Envy/Satella was sealed by a Sage, a Dragon and a Hero and now Subaru kind of is all three. And he swore at the end of season 2 that he would save Satella? The parallels are getting CRAZY!
The ep title is "the newest of the heroes and the most ancient of the heroes",at first glance anyone would think that Subaru is the newest and Reinhard is the ancient cuz of his family name but Reinhard doesn't consider himself a hero yet,so what if he considers himself a hero after resolving this predicament and he is the newest hero that would mean that Subaru is the ancient hero, but how?maybe bcz of some time travel shit, probably.

If he would truly resamble Al that much I think Priscilla would have remembered. But maybe Als face is that fucked up or something who knows
Otto is definately a terrifying enough planner that he could’ve been the one to flood Priestella. I mean, he and Petra burned down Roswaal’s mansion in order to take on a mabeast. Flooding a city to take down a Sin archbishop is the next step, in both the scope of destruction, and the potential threat level posed by the enemy. At some point, he may even bulldoze the country to defeat Pandora, before ending the world to defeat Satella. Yeah, no. Flooding Priestella when there’s still civilians out and about is way out of character.
I think if we go with Al is Subaru theory, Al has to know RBD or maybe he has a different kind of RBD. I havent watch your cut content reaction for S3, but I think his "RBD" has to have some sort of similarity to Subaru's RBD, a looping mechanic.
Going off the start of this episode Al being useless in the fight at the town hall can only be because it’s against archbishops considering how many cult members he took out on his own
Wait but like hasn't Pricilla seen Al's face? She commented on the scar or smth on his face so wouldn't it be similar to Subaru's face IF Al is Subaru? Food for Thought.
i dont think they are the same person, it seems like bait, its way too obv. and nobody would react to it if it gets revealed, because everyone already thinks that way
Mmm. 'This isn't going how I was told it would' makes me think that Al might be Pride, and that he has a Gospel that is telling him what to do to achieve his goal, whatever that is. But I don't think he associates with the witch cult. I think he's independent, and whatever his goal is, it has to do with Priscilla. As for if he's Subaru or not... I'd love to think that he is him, but knowing Tappei, it could just be a bunch of red herrings to lead us astray on purpose.
What if AL represents the sin of Envy, but not as a Archbishop ? He knows about Beako and Emilia more then he gives off in breaktimes, in this episode he was sus too. We saw his eyes kinda, for the first time, but what if he is envious of Emilia's relationship with Subaru secretly ... And his loyaulty towards Priscilla is just an excuse
Oh trust me, his loyalty to Princess isn't an excuse but you are right that Al behaviors is very much like Envy. Always envying everyone else including Subaru because he feels like he can't do it that means Subaru can't do it.
