Funny enough I finally hit Souls fatigue after like two years of Elden Ring and DS3. I'd highly recommend Lies of P and (brief self plug) a video I made about it! If the gameplay is what you're hooked on, it'll work wonders.
Man, I really do love Dark Souls 1. It was the first souls game that my brother recommended. At the start it was always the red dragon at the bridge that ALMOST made me rage quit forever but after a while I learned of the secret route under the bridge and was honestly a fresh breath of relief. Course after a few playthroughs of ds1- I learned that you can time the fire breath and just run towards the gate without worry. Experience makes the game less rage-fueled however leaves me wanting the nostalgic and gray yet beautiful feeling when I first saw the beautiful landscape. This would be precursor to what was to come for the rest of the amazing trilogy however if I could lose my memories and go through the grueling and pain-staking game that is Dark souls 1. I would take the offer in a heartbeat. I haven't played in months now. Praise the Sun!
I will always recommend for DS1 spacing out multiple playthroughs, not because the first one is bad, but because that breath of air between each one made each repeated playthrough even better (for me*) Glad you're loving it!
Last I played was 2 days ago. Started a new game (on the PS3 funny enough) and played up to the Taurus demon. Will probably pick at it and hopefully beat in the next couple of weeks. Yes. PS3. Blight Town is a Power Point presentation at times. But I agree, it’s great. The Duke’s Archives was exhausting my last play through but I didn’t hate it. The Demon Ruins and Lost Isalith were slogs every time. Yeah it’s a meme with the not being finished but it more that they are long, have very spongy enemies. Undead Burg has shit variety, but the terrain and clustering make dozens of little encounters. Demon Ruins especially is “kite out one or two bug dudes [Capra or Taurus] and deal with; rinse and repeat”. And Izalith is basically run past dragon butts and plow through statues with that brief area were you fight the Lovecraftian squiddy things with Sigmeyer (which was better than most of what came before). Honestly, don’t hate the Fire Sage or Centepede because they break things up. What can fuck off is the Tomb of the Giants. The giant skellies in the dark on precarious cliffs that are too easy to roll off is ass but the goddamn giant skeleton dogs are the worst. It’s not hated because it is merely boring like the others that are on the weaker side, but because it is sooo cheap. I guess if you have a high poise tank, it’s easy, but I think I may have missed at least a bonfire in this area and have never found it.
As a challenge runner, i play dark souls weekly. My head is a compendium of knowledge and its still fun. I like the gameplay and the routing my runs take me on and the differences per game.
Im at the point where I find it hard to enjoy ANY other game so I will always come back to souls and just start a new build..

I'm a new player and loving the game, so I certainly won't be putting it down anytime soon, but incredible video mate, you've earned my like.

Weekly is really fucking dope, I really recommend Gamers Weekend's various DS runs if you haven't seen them
4 hours ago, after 65 hours, I've finally got the platinum of ds1
It will probably be my last time playing
For 1. Congratulations on that! That's a solid achievement. And 2. I hope whatever your next game is, is pretty fulfilling.
You'll play it again
When's the last time I killed O&S? Last night. Lol
yesterday
The last time I played was just a few months ago to do a video essay on the Bed of Chaos.
Interesting! DS1 can inspire a LOT of repeat playthroughs for video creators lol
