Want to know more about Minecraft? Minecraft is an online virtual sandbox type game where people of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. Nearly everything on Minecraft is built and designed by the players. Each player starts by choosing a character and giving it a name. They can then explore Minecraft having fun by chatting and working with other players to survive in survival mode or even create huge structures with an unlimited lego like set of blocks. Each player has their own land and a virtual toolbox with which to make creations - be it a castle, mansion or a giant arcade machine for example. There are lots of multiplayer games and servers through which players learn to cooperate.
Wanna see my face? Watch my live streams - every day 4pm AND 10pm UK time (11am and 5pm New York time) I am building a city, naming streets after viewers and building with my patreons. Hope to see you there. If you read this message and come to see my stream because of it give me the secret work 'grapefruit' and I will name a waste bin after you - amazing I know.

This dude is literally the Bob Ross of Minecraft builds. Also I like how he recommends going off and doing your own thing, and shows you the fundamentals of it while encouraging you to be creative at the same time. 10/10.
Wow thanks 😍
That comment should win an award
An added benefit of the 5x5 system is it makes it easier to do non 5x5 builds. all those markings on the floor mean you don't have to count out 57 blocks by 208 and then a line of six blocks and a diagonal of seven 2x1s... because you can break it all down into 5x5 sections.
My son has been wanting to get better at building, so I have been using your method to help him along. Thank you so much
You are the beat dad/mom.
@@CardZed minor spelling mistake. Very true, though. I agree
Love these builds, also love seeing what you do with the new updated villagers in 1.14
Have you done a series on town planning?
Ever since i saw and watch your vid i improved my builds . And learned that you can make amazing builds that start with a 5x5 house .Thanks for the inspiration .
More Vids and More power to you

Not sure if that was a misunderstanding of the word, or a jab at vanilla's ugliest block

I'm not even halfway through the video and at this point I am sold on the 5x5 system. I usually struggle building structures that look good (or at least I rarely think something that I build looks good), but I think that I can do some interesting things in this style. Thank you for your encouraging words and positive attitude :)
The fact that you read a comment on a video that is over a year old is amazing! Stay awesome, Andy :D
Your 5x5 videos have made me feel so confident. I feel good about my builds now and i am having fun. Builds dont feel like a burden anymore.
I try out colors and layouts in creative mode then build the replica in survival.
Thanks for making these videos Andy Yoda.
Awesome Cody!
Andy, every time you do one of these 5x5 builds it just amazes me, it's always brilliant. I've been playing since 2013 on PS3 and PS4. I've never thought of doing a 5x5 build. Maybe the next build you could do, that would be awesome, is a mine with the 5x5 build system.
I've never loved a minecraft video more, and that's no joke. Something about your voice and your shaders, added to the way your buildings fit like legos, made this one of my new favorite videos.
Thanks Lillian
This building system takes away the confusion and fear of too much freedom with building, and I love it! Now I have much more fun building symmetrical stuff! :)
Sir, I love this building style it is one of the best building styles for begginers and pros alike.
thanks!!!
It is indeed a very beginner friendly building floor plan and since I'm basicly a beginner I have notice my builds have gotten a lot better
Thank you for putting up these videos. I love Minecraft but I have a lot of trouble being creative in my builds. I can barely build the basic Mojang village houses!! Watching you videos give me hope that I can develop my building style based on your 5x5 system. Thank you. I really look forward to building a village I can be proud of with your help! Thank you again.
Awesome TJ!!!!
I dunno what it is with the sorta “Mojang” style, but it is cool. With the 5x5 technique you can add some interest but it forces you to keep things simple without overwhelming detail. Great for large scale builds because your not spending time on lots of detail.
This 5x5 building system makes my building skills easier, Thanks andyisyoda!
Happy to help!
Love the 5x5 building system. Probably going to make one of those in my survival map!
Oh my gosh, I just went on your server Andy. You have some amazing buildings! I am having a great time exploring everything (love the airplane!)
I find that the 5x5 style works really well for walls and borders and whatnot. Then on the inside you can get really funky, and it has the added benefit of mapping out 5x5 chunks.
Did anyone else hear him say “Bobs your uncle” at 9:17
Yes
Bob's you uncle means "you are all set"
Cool
You are simply amazing with your tutorials. They're so easy to comprehend! What's better is you're not teaching a build, you're teaching a method OF building. Any good builder can show you how to build, but only a great builder can show you the logic and thinking behind the build so you can bugger off and do great things. I agree too, you are the Bob Ross of Minecraft.
Andy, you are amazing and your creations are just unbelievably incredible. I am a builder myself but by watching your videos I learnt quite a lot and really developed my building skills. Huge thanks to you, guy. Stay creative!
Was about to go to bed, but nope video just got put up, so now im watching it.... thanks
Are you a bot? What earth are you'r subscriptions?
Don't lose too much sleep! Thanks for watching and say hi to your dog for me!
@@andyisyoda he was sleeping on my lap while i watched. Loved the video off to sleep now. Happy building.
Ahh these are some of the videos that taught me how to build. 5×5 system is fantastic, so flexible , expandable I could go on. Anyone watching this just starting out building 5×5 is the way to go build those little box frames, stack em , stick one on there , another here. There just isnt a better way to learn to build imo. Andy I'm sure u have taught a generation of builders. And I know for a fact u are a massive inspiration to many. Tip of the hat my good man. Hope ure not missing ure survival courses on the weekends. I'm not missing the xtra content. Take care and merry xmas to u and ure loved ones.
Your tutorials are great to make advance builds in Minecraft
I often combine 5x5 with 7x7. Especially with medieval houses putting squeres next to eachoter like puzzle pieces is an awesome effect, especially the roofing.
This because 2 5x5 squeres (9x9) sometimes is just a little too large but 5x5 too small. 7x7 is in the middle.
Bassicly just 5x5 > 7x7 > 9x9 > 11x11 .....
Combining is great!
I finally what I had been meaning to do for a year; I built a castle in both building techniques (5x5 and 7x7).
This is a kinda "short" report of my findings. It should be noted that I am slightly biased towards 7x7, as that's what I have been building with for 7 years, so I have a lot more experience with it. I also can't share a download of the world, or any pictures, as all of my Minecraft save files were lost a few weeks ago, when my pc entered into a death loop and had to get it's Window's downloaded again. I am however in the progress of building a mixture of them, so I might share that once it's done.
Firstly, let us set down the finer details. Both of the castles were made to be 121x121 and all parts were made to be either 5x5 or 7x7 pieces knitted together, except for the gatehouse and the keep's door, as those comprise of two 5x5 or 7x7 pieces. That was done, because those particular buildings have to be centered, in a square castle. The building palette was practically the same as the one in this video and no interiors that can't be seen from the outside were made.
Secondly, the actual findings. First I shall discuss the walls, then interior buildings, the keep and finally wrap everything together with some closign words. Now enough rambeling and to walls.
The walls are the first thing anyone sees of someone's castle, so they need to look decent, but you don't want to put too much effort into them, because they make a formitable percentage of the build. While the 5x5 was easier and more simple to build, it easily lacked detail and depth. However, the 5 block width of the walls was better than the 7 block one. 7x7 walls needed to be taller to account for their width. With the walls, I found that a best of both worlds is the best solution: take the 5 block width, but utilize the 7 block lenght for easier depth and more detail. The towers in the corners were quite tricky to make pretty and not out of space with the 7x7, but once they were perfect, they really were perfect. With the 5x5, the towers looked too lean to be tall enough in my opinion, but they were a few dozen times easier to build. The gatehouse was quite similar with both, the 7x7 being obviously taller and wider by a few blocks.
The interior buildings. With 7x7, the I could fit less buildings in and some the buildings were too large to make sense in such a small castle. But the ones that did fit looked great, compared to the 5x5, which looked kinda boring, lacking detail. Upside of 5x5 was clearly the fact that anything I did build, fit quite nicely in and nothing looked out of place. The keep, being a pretty large building worked well with both, but in 7x7 it worked particularly well, as the building technique makes building more grand and the windows look intimitating and fit for a king. The main road was too wide with the 7x7 in such a small castle, so I wouldn't recommend building it to be so wide. I had to use a lot of detail to make the main road fit in any way, and now that I am rebuilding the castle, I will make the main road 5 blocks wide.
Finally, the wrapping up. Both building techniques are just as usable and mostly down to the player's own experience and preference. A mixture of both is still the best way to go. There however are a few notes I should give, the 5x5 is a lot easier and more flexible in many ways, but lacks detailing ability. The 7x7 makes buildings taller and as such more grandiose, windows are usually better in this style as well. Depth is easy to do compared to 5x5.
Thank you for reading.
Wow Amazing!!!! Keep it up with your 5x5 buildings :)
This is a game changer for guys like me who have ideas and no clue how to pull them off. Huge...
You are very talented, you seem to be a professional engineer and a very smart architect!
I'm pretty sure he is an architect
Love the tutorial! Keep up the 5x5 builds!
Thanks! I finally know how to use your build methods!
Really nice way to make a basic town! I’m using this for the wall around my castle, but for the inside I like to do more detailed designs lol
Totally enjoy your channel and love most of your builds. Just wanted to chime in with everything you said about the 5*5 system is also completely valid about any modular system. I personally mix several sizes sizes of module, in my larger builds the most common being 3*3, 5*5 (of course), 7*7, and 9*9 . Mostly 3*3's for halls, corridors and such while reserving the larger sizes for main rooms/ areas. PS. awesome job with the vids dude thanks for your time and effort!
That 5x5 round house you did inspired me
It looks really pleasing yet it’s simple to understand.. I like this
5 by 5 is my favorite build type.
2 questions. Are you a architect in real life? And don’t you get bored of this game? Also great video!
I’m not and no I keep thinking of things to build!

Really really cool
This is amazing. Thank you!
The 4 blocks high mentioned at 3:35 or so is not weird because your grid is 4x4, not 5x5. Overlapping 5x5 squares in a 4x4 grid. Which is what makes it interlock and work so well. Because the 5x5 squares overlap in a 4x4 grid. Saying your grid is 5x5 in the beginning confuses things.
Such a good tutorial!
OMG you are way to good why do you not have 1mil subs i think it wirde.
I love your vids
Even with this system, I still can't build good.
hey, i saw u still read new comments so i decided to leave one. i was trying to build things like this and you helped fair amount. ill give credits when i finally finish it bc i dont have alot of time
Good luck
@@andyisyoda wow u are fast
Thanks, now I have the nicest catle on the server!
I'm definitely gonna use your 5x5 tutorials to build a Plains Kingdom when I'm done with my Desert Town
I love your videos. It is too hard to say which is the best. For me I think that 7 Minecraft 5x5 Nether portal upgrades speedbuild is the best
Love the video 😀😀😀
Hello from Russia. This buildings very very cool)

Well done and nice job andy
Can you please build a glaladior dome please
Good vid!!
My god the way you talk is like the Bob Ross of minecraft
ты очень классно строишь!!
Very good
Something I love about these is that the materials are super easy to get in survival
The 5x5 building method looks very interesting. I like the modular approach. Will it also work with 6X6, 7x7 etc etc or is there something unique about 5? Does the number have to be odd for building the roof (as odd numbers seem to make better roofs)?
I would keep it odd. But mix in some even sections or round bits too.
Good job buddy
Can you build some ships which you could build near a castle
its
Amazing!!
Very cool

What’s the texture pack that you use in this video?
edit: This is brilliant! I love your videos, keep up the good work dude!
faithful and thanks!
Could you do a desert 13 upgrades video. I tried doing it myself, but it didn't work out the way I imagined it would
Same :(
Das sieht alles echt Hammer aus! Wo nimmst du nur all die Ideen her?
Hey Andy, been a subscriber for a few weeks now and have been watching alot of your videos. Do you think you will do another village series? Like the desert or tundra or not because of the new update?
Maybe
Quick tip, there is also 7x7,9x9,11x11
I should have stuck in at school 🤓
andyisyoda I still think 5x5 is better.
Yes! Thanks andy :p
This type of build is perfect for procedural generation .
it's confusing to me because the narration is faster than the video itself, but other than that, it's pretty helpful
Nice
Wow
7x7x4(or 5 if you need taller) is better because you can actually have working space.
Any tips on doing this in survival? how can I really place yellow blocks on the floor to mark things out? or whats the best way to mark things out when planning the space for builds?
I too build in 5 x 5
Man he *really* wants us to watch his other videos.
Can you pretty please tell me what mod you use so that you can copy and past your builds and sections? and how do I install it
He uses world edit
CodeErr U can also use the clone command, but it's more complicated
Love it!
Not that much effort for such a nice build, this is personally my favorite way to build in Minecraft.
you should become an art teacher
Hey Andy you should get a 3D printer and built these in the 3D printer and also make a 10 by 10 builds for all of your builds
Hey Andy can I be shouted out and your next video could you shout out my RUclips channel my other RUclips channel is called LBOUNCER
Pls delete your channel
He should delete your Channel it IS obvious that hes an alt Account from you🤣
How did you make that 5 x 5 building pattern? Love your videos.
Название на русском?
Nice builds but the 5x5 is to small go with 10x10 or 15x15
How many item materials did you use?
But what if you want to place a double door in the center? 5×5 system won't allow it.
have two doors with upright inbetween
Hey there andy, I ran into some trouble with joining your server if you could help in anyway
Класс
how do we get your texture pack? the link doesnt seem to be working. iv even gone to your website to get it through the link on your more current videos, but i still cant find the texture pack
i just use stevens traditional
Why don't you try a sci fi build
nobody talking about how audio/video are desynced?
We need tutorial on how to build on terrain
HI
What mods do you use
When you build in 5x5 and decide to do a 7x7 tower
Is there a value to doing 5x5 and not 7x7? It seems 7x7 would give you more room for windows, and more spacious rooms. In a 5x5 building, your room is 3x3 which means a good fart would give you a concussion. Just seems a little cramped.
Taylor Moore I believe it’s because it’s not for using its for looking at. And you could always make your rooms bigger by doubling.
Anyone know if this is a certain texture pack or if it’s just shaders makin’ stuff look so amazing? I’m having trouble finding the info.
Faithful pack. Sildurs vibrant shaders
