I don't get it! The previous owner was worried about changing the car and keeping it stock. Why add the bigger motor and other goodies? The back seats are worthless, and those speakers will probably make indentations on the original seats. There's tons of OEM reproduction parts for that GTO. If it were me, I would have swapped the original package tray and the interior door skins. Bought a retro stereo! IMO, the way the car looks now is cheesy. Could have covered the amp tray, too! So the wood didn't stick out like a turd in the punch bowl....

You can't by a solid GTO for 15000. Shells are going for close to that.

He has towels underneath the speakers so there is no indentation in the rear seats. Everybody has their style. In this business we've seen it all.
I would remove those speakers on day 1. Very odd
