- Detroit based certified auto appraiser Jason Phillips made 100 MPH in this 455 HO numbers matching M-22 rock crusher 1971 GTO. For sale, the same owner since 1977, it sports original low mileage with a very solid underbody, and is frame up restored.. Both PHS and on-site verified as a true number's matching VIN correct drive train. Little sister of the GTO JUDGE with identical drive trains, the H.O. cars we're just as scarce in production as the Judges. With only 476 HO's produced, coupled with only a small sample built as M-22's in this configuration, it is indeed very rare! Asking $48,500.00 810-691-2664.

Glad I found this to hear that roar. I have a 73 Pontiac Grandville 455 4 bbl currently in storage I miss driving that car late at night after a long day of work
Snow still on the ground? NO WAY am I taking that outta my garage!
Real or not, that's music to my ears.i grew up with the early 60's and 70's muscle cars.the best.
There was nothing like those 60-70 muscle cars.My very first car was a 68 GTO. The torque that car had was incredible. It would pin you to the seats in first and second gear with a turbo 400 automatic with the HIS and Hers (DualGate) shifter!!!!
GORGEOUS PONCHO! Amazing how all those American muscle Pontiacs have the same roaring sounds... as does my 69 GP.

Boy o boy, PMD at its best for sure! How the heck did he keep the car so nice in Michigan! Nice to see a factory tach also. Always loved that color combination, even though I am often ridiculed for it!
Nice goat! Love the colour combo and the noise of the M22!
Me too!
I love that Pontiac rumble!
Barclay Benjamin This 1971 GTO drove with authority! It was DEFINITE RUMBLER! Thanks
All cammed up

daniel keener, I remember my 64 Goat convertible with a 421 Super Duty, dual quad factory installed engine. It had the McKellar #10 solid lifter NASCAR CAM! It had a Super T-10 4-speed and 4.88:1 Safety Track rear end! It used to run consistent 12.2 second times at 120 mph on the track or street. More than a match for that 70, 455 Goat! It was only one of way less than 100 cars like it!
Absolutely could not agree more.
Those gears sound fantastic! You amplify this sound and she'll be just a dream car!
Егор Букраев Agreed! this 1971 GTO HO Sounds awesome
I am a very mature guy right now. This was my first brand new car ever. It was not a force paid or a 455. But I sure had fun.
The engine has an aftermarket high lift camshaft.Back in 1971 a friend of mines dad had a GTO with the 455 H.O. and it did not sound like this gold GTO.
The M-22 was GREAT!!! And it looked like you hit bout 92 mph there for a few seconds.....pretty exciting- great video, thanks!!!
I saw an '72 GTO with the original paint at a ConcoursDElegance show that i judged muscle cars at back in July and it was in such good shape, i thought it was restored. It even had the original dealer decal (fully intact) on its shiny factory bright orange paint job. It almost won an award.
dude, thats awesome going down the freeway letting it loose passing standard cars
It was a GAS driving this 1971 HO GTO! Thanks, auto appraiser Jason Phillips
That is a hell of an engine note - surprisingly smooth, not that choppy, yet still screams rock-n-roll.
these haul ass
Wow, amazing hearing this large v8 being rung out. sounds awesome!
I am unapologetic about being poor, but happy.
These types of videos are one place I go, when experiencing the psychological dynamic known as, "lottery fantasy syndrome."
My older brother had one of these and, since then, I have loved them.
happy gay conservative
Exactly how I feel and Think. Same reason I watch too. Been waiting for my numbers to come up for a long time.
Had one! Sold it to pay for my concrete floor in garage. Bondo bucket money pit. Yours is gorgeous thanks for the vid!
Very nice car and you can hear just how solid it is it sounds like it's probably very strong
I love this car. I had a 1972 Olds delta 88 455 rocket mosfet. It just needs updating.
Nice..1971..!! That is rare with the M-22.!! I had a 1971 GTO in Sunnyvale Ca. Same year, color out , tan in. with the 400
Love that rock crusher wine!
Hey guys, thanks for the video.....love the 71-72 G.T.O 'S......only disappointment for me , was the chrome wheel mouldings and rear factory spoiler was missing......But a real nasty sounding classic , absolutely beautiful car.......Back in 1988 I was working for a Chevrolet/olds dealer, and the owners son, went to Georgia and brought back a 1971 455 H.O G.T.O judge.....the car was mint inside and out, black with a black vinyl roof and black interior ......The judge stripe package was two tone orange and red on the fenders and quarter panels......All the paper work came with the car showing it was an original car and not restored .......The factory rear spoiler was on the car, and the mileage at the time was showing 66,000 .....It also had the rally2 rims with the chrome trim rings......Later on that summer of '88, they put the car in the show room of the dealer , and the son was asking $ 18, 500.......It was worth ever bit of the asking price, it was basically brand new .
I recall back in the day when I frequented the car auctions, and when a classic or sports car would make its way to the block a lot of the bidders and dealers would whip out their trusty magnets. Good times 😎
Nothing like a Poncho power, friend of mine had a 69 convertible 4 speed Lemans, 350/330, awesome sleeper, full PMD wheel covers, white letter tires dual exhaust, manual steering and brakes, beautiful whit interior black console Hurst 4 speed shifter, white convertible top, deep green exterior, that thing was unreal, no one saw it coming, or heard it till that 4 barrel opened up, and those duals started to sing, and by the time you figured out you'd been had, we been gone, with a nice 8 track tape playing
I could listen to that engine all day.
lol please tell me you took that 455 emblem off of the dash pad. Nice compression boost & cam upgrade. Keep it below 5100 RPM!
that thing he is using is a stud finder for finding metal stud in a wall. I always use one of those weak rubber refrigerator magnets. I strong magnet will stick through thin body filler.
Good idea!
I had a 1970 455ho trip duce intake a isky 500 cam Mallory's electric ignition, tracktion bars a boagwana multi plate clutch the only problem was the brakes hard to stop
Sweet ride, needed an upgraded brake booster to get adequate brakes with my RA IV transplant.
Immaculate piece of machinery!!
You had a few test drivers that hit triple didgets but this car just pure class air conditioned COMFORTABLE CRUISER.
Such a damn beautiful car!
i love these appraisals. it's nice to get an idea of what these cars are really worth. i'd be interested in prices for some of the normal, driver quality cars like maybe a tempest or chevellem camaro, or mustang.
Love these old Machines Fuel economy doesn't matter much to me as long I have fun
SMILES PER GALLON
WOW id take this over ANY modern car....
Flowmaster mufflers sound so good !
Nice friggin car. Can't go wrong with a GTO
Pontiac never used the term "LS5". No such engine for Pontiac exist. Pontiac never made a big block either, all blocks were the same size, bore and stroke differentiated the cubic inches.
Some folk refer to the "large journal" engines (421, 428, 455) as big blocks but you are right, other than that they're basically all the same.
He wasn't pulling into that station just to drop the guy off, believe me. If you own a car like this then I would have to assume that gasoline prices for hi-test for the big block isn't going to be an issue for you. The only issue would be that the gas tank seems to be a little small, but that would mean that 24 gallons of gas is a small tank. I remember when this car was bought new that hi-test was about 38-40 cents/gallon. Well , now it's approximately 10 times what it was back then so you do the math. At anywhere between 8-12 MPG, depending upon right foot pressure, you will get lots and lots of enjoyment and fun in the car. I should know, I'm quite experienced with the HO 455 but that was way back then, I think I would go broke now if I had to buy the gas for this monster, but I would go down with a smile on my face and blue tire smoke in my lungs. What a rocket ship.
TBull Cajunbreadmaker
I can attest to your claim of low gas mileage.
It took five dollars of fuel just to run my 1971 Pontiac Firebird around the block back in the 90’s
455HD
Love that color on that GTO
M22, Yeah! This is an amazing car.
Yeah Baby, Yeah.! That's how you test-drive American Muscle.
Really nice GTO!
Beautiful car
A true dream car
Sorry 1971 HO GTO already sold, but I feel ya bro on the comments! Nothin like that M-22 whine!! Thanks
WOWZA, she's a real beauty!
Beautiful
455..
I had a 74 Firebird that same color.
Very nice car !
Wow beautiful car nothing nicer than a pontiac .
DAMN! I LOVE IT!
wow!!!!!!!!!! i love it
too bad it doesn't have the black caps, my buddy had one, love the front end.
UAW...love it!
The last good year for GTO
I noticed the M-22 right off. Sweet car.
são grandes máquinas
They really just don't make cars like they used to legends never die
I'm supposed to be doing my laundry, dammit, and got sidetracked by this video. I think my work clothes are burning up in the dryer. :-( I'll have to go back and check it out...after this video is over. After all, I do have priorities.
Very very nice.
that 454 at 4.5K sounds amazing
It's not a 454, it's a 455, 454 is a Chevy engine.
great muscle car beautiful and powerful and it would be painted black and that would play the role of a bad racer on the road and that would be afraid of him at the sight and hear the sound of his powerful engine
Trucker Kev - You are correct sir! Let's hope these videos are not admissible in court!
Where I live if you're caught going 30 mph or more above the posted speed limit you're going to lose your 'rock crusher' GTO!
videos cannot be used as evidence against a driver without positive identity via mugshot
Music to my ears i could sleep like a baby under that car while it idles

1971 GTO original owner since about 1977? Anyone else catch that.
Same owner since 1977, as in the second owner. I heard that several times. Never heard him say original.
Gerald Durant
Yup...instant bull shitter alert 🚨
How much more smoke did he blow up our asses?
Especially when he showed the red
K-Mart numbers 455 on the dash.
Nice!
The fastest car I've ever been in
What does the plaque under the far passenger air vent say?
Lots of steel rolling round
Beautiful, Beautiful car. One more gear an it would be a great highway cruiser.
Ended up going turbo 400 built w goodies love it
With a car like this, in a matter of hours I'd be in a squad car on my way to jail lol.
If that's the case, you drove it wrong...lol
Real men test drive musclecars exactly the way you do it. Bravo.! Me Likey. lol
I was hoping he'd open the secondaries on the highway.
Sounds like an aftermarker high lift cam swap.
Bro there is no need more to rev the shit out of that motor especially just cruising through the town.
They used to rip 8-Mile road up here in Detroit.
Woodward ave or gratiot
6:48 Are we going a hundred and ten? We're going a hundred and ten!
Always wondered why Pontiac and Chevrolet gave the same engine code to there engines?
Had one 140 mph is just a start there's no end of the top end mine was a fkn beast I cammed it bigger rejected the quadrajet and tricked it out yes I miss the heck out of my baby!
The same year?
What are you asking for this GTO?. AQUILA MAYFIELD SR ASHEVILLE NORTH CAROLINIA.
I'd be the last person to defend one of these "dealers" or such but according to Wippikeneda Pontiac used LS5 for their H.O. 455 option code. L75 was the base 455... I thought only Chevy used it, guess not. LOL
What kind of gas was this GTO running on I know this vid was a while ago but never too late to learn
What's the point with the magnet testing. I do not understand. Maybe it's 'cause I'm new to all of this. Nice car! Thx!
Pete :")
Checking to see if any Bondo on the car.
certified by who? what cars sold did you use for comparables to get value?
Very nice GTO. Is the car still available? What is the asking price? Is there a site with the pics and more info?
+svisek gone baby GONE!
Sweet ride - could benefit from cross-over in exhaust system for torque and sound while running. M22 nice trans, I've owned them; but gimme a ball over a T-handle any day......T-handle just never feels right to me. I suppose I'm in the minority but when trans is doing what it's supposed to I don't need the T-handle to ram 'n jam.
Had a 71 GTO 400ci auto trans beautiful car. A real panty dropper!
73trident mcrider
“PANTY DROPPER!!”🤣
Real classy choice of words there.
@ Glad you liked the way I phrased it.
Sweet goat
😮 My Dad worked for Pontiac Motors, & he wouldn't let me have one.😭
Jerry- I know...right? My pops worked for Fisher Body, and bought me a 70 Olds 455.....not a Cutlass or something cool, but an old grocery getter Olds 98! He didn't give it to me either, had to buy it with my paper route money! Good Life lessons!
Thanks, Jason the Auto Appraiser
@@AutoAppraise LOL POP'S PROBABLY SAVED MY LIFE. ENDED UP BUYING A 70 CAMARO Z/28 WITH A LEAKY TRANSMISSION. GOT IT WITH MY OWN MONEY PUMPING GAS. $800.00 IT WAS 7yrs old. Still kicked butt on Saturday night on Livernois, & Warren. Ahhhh... The '70's.
what rear end gears does it have?
Maybe a 4.11 possi rear, but I don't think that would be a GM stock axle. A 3.92 maybe?
I'll trade ya my Wife, and, a five year supply of White Castles just for a cruise in that beauty !!!
camera moves around to the point of distraction, IT never comes to rest.
How fast is that blue car in front of you is going?????
One rare car , look at the hood of the car, they used this on the olds 442, newer trans AM and the Pontiac grand AM GT for the 30 anniversary.
I almost bought one for $3500 back in 1979. Exact same car but a litter color. I still regret not buying it. I passed because the owner was a jerk....my mistake.
sorry LIGHTER color.
Thanks for recording the audio through a baking potato!
