In 2018 I changed the fuel plate in my truck and I should have never touched it. Now I am tuning the AFC back to where it was before. I put the stock fuel plate back in the stock location. I have pushed the AFC housing all the way back towards the drivers seat and I have the star wheel adjusted to the center of the hole. I am driving to see if I can get the mpg numbers I got in the past. Right now I am very close to that 25mpg number. The truck has acceptable acceleration with hardly any smoke going out the exhaust. I have removed all the extra weight that affects aerodynamics of the truck.

It’s hard to find a 5.9 Cummins that hasn’t been molested by the fast and furious crowd.
❤Diesels should available with manual transmissions ❤

Need more 12v content again! Always enjoy yours. Have you been noticing much of an increase in MPG's with your back to factory adjustments?

You wont... its a mechanical fuel pump, harder you push the pedal, the faster it goes. If you turn the fuel up it wont use more unless you push it.... drive with your foot to the rug and it will drink more. Keep your foot out and only use the power when you need it.

I noticed immediately after getting the black smoke out of any hard acceleration. Removing all the extra weight and driving from 55-65 mph has been the key for getting 22-25+ mpg with this truck. With the truck back to stock level I don't have to worry about blowing all that mpg out the tail pipe. Driving a slug changes my driving habits entirely and with fuel prices so high I will continue to drive like a old man.

@@DieselPowerTV weird. When i turned up my 98 12v. My fuel economy improved. New injectors gave a solid 1-2mpg bump.
