I picked up this exact watch two weeks ago and absolutely LOVE it! Every word of what is said here is very true. Yes, it's beefy, and it somewhat heavy, but not in a bad way. It is a spectacular watch, and I am thrilled that I bought it. I was almost ready to buy a Panerai, and when I saw this Omega it was game over!
I bought this watch in blue, and changed out the bracelet for a Barton's Sail Cloth strap. Dropped the weight from 215 g's to 115 g's. It is very comfortable and beautiful too in my opinion!
Honestly even with its original steel bracelet is not all that heavy. I was thinking the same before i tried it on at an omega boutique today and i can say it is very wearable watch and doesn't feel like it's a 200g+ watch in real life.
This one is next on my list. Such a nice, beefy watch, but not too beefy. If anyone is on the fence because of the helium escape valve, don’t be. I have a couple of Seamaster Professional 300Ms and while wearing it, you don’t even know it is there.
I have the same watch super good quality very well built and beautiful looking watch bought one second hand 2020 model calibre 8900 black with steel bracelet for 3.9k£ definitely worth the price
I have this exact model I love it so much, I wear it everyday and as discussed in the video I noticed I was putting some scratches in the clasp, so I took the bracelet off and replaced it with an Omega black and orange rubber dive strap to preserve the bracelet, and yeah replacing the bracelet with a rubber strap makes the watch much lighter to wear, and I love the way the strap looks, the orange on the strap compliments the orange Seamaster logo on the dial and the orange tip on the seconds hand.
Very cool watch. Definitely interested in an updated version. I was looking to buy this model in blue, but I may hold off if there will be an update. Either get a good deal on the older model or get the new version.
The adjustment system is not the dive extension. To wear this watch on a nato is bad advice, and you would know that had you really worn it. And compared to older versions it looks kind of grey not black, because it‘s so shiny. Fantastic watch.
I see one for sale (pre owned) Seamaster planet ocean chronometer / blue face.. the motor is 8500 not 8800.. Anything I shoud be aware of before I purchase? Thank you Joe
One thing I know is there’s no quick tool less adjust on the bracelet with the 8500. I believe, the bezel, while ceramic, the black is painted therefore scratchable on the 8500.

There is no newer version, and I don‘t think there will be any time soon. Prices are constantly going up with Omega, even on the pre owned market, and if you want this watch, get one asap. You will pay much more within six months.
In all my time discussing watches with fellow watch enthusiasts and friends, I have never ever ever ever heard anyone moan or mention the helium escape vale on the omegas - why do reviewers keep playing this up? I’ve never hear anyone even mention it let alone moan about it. If you don’t like it - buy a seadweller, problem solved 🤷🏼♂️ .
I'm worried they might discontinue the 39.5 so I'm thinking of buying one this year. I'll be upset if they update it with a 38.5mm or something though lol. Thats what I actually want.

Yeah, the 300m bracelet really sucks. Mine is now on an aftermarket rubber strap.
I bought one of these a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. It feels and looks far better in the hand than on the screen.
Love mine. And in my view, it looks even better on the leather/rubber strap.
I agree. I own the rubber gator looking strap and it’s really a game changer for the thickness and weight of the case.

I’ve owned mine since 2017 and it’s a winner. I’m a big guy at 6ft and 200lbs, so I don’t mind the larger case and thickness.
Great vid, shame RUclips butchered it with advertisements.
This or a speedmaster moonwatch…can’t decide. And I’m only going to spend that kind of money on a wristwatch once…
The Planet Ocean is more watch for the money between those two. It also has better fit and finish than the Speedmaster.
I have this exact Planet Ocean and a sapphire sandwich Speedy. The PO is a better watch in every way and what I wear 75% of the time over the Speedy.
i think what would be a nice design change is to place the date window at the "10" position. the chrono version dial has the date at the "6" position

This watch is kinda thick, It's around 16mm. You don't want it to be too small, It will look bulky. I believe the 43.5mm is perfect
