  • After nearly three years of work, my EPCOT Center re edits come to an end for now with Canada.
See the origins and design of the pavilion, its layout and its construction. After highlights of the dedication ceremony take a stroll around the 1980s pavilion, enter Maple Leaf Mine, and enjoy the complete original 1982 O’Canada! Each of the nine screens were shot individually on a tripod, and I joined all together at 4K resolution to give me the ability to pan around and zoom into any screen or selection of screens to as I felt appropriate without loosing quality. I also reduced or eliminated any screen flicker. This is accompanied by a new clean, high quality audio mix which I hope is the best available.
See the changes made over the years, and then take a complete current day HD tour of the pavilion. Explore the store, the canyon, and again enter the mine for the complete 2007 O’Canada! Again all nine screens were tripod shot individually and assembled as before for ultimate creative control. Screen flicker was again reduced or eliminated and audio is a new high quality ALD mix.
After leaving the mine, take a look inside Le Cellier, tour Victoria Gardens and take a walk around the pavilion after sunset.

Have to admit, going into “Oh Canada” I thought I was going to be bored out my skull. Then I saw it and Canada is so beautiful I want to cry.

Watching it now - love it, Martin! And only slightly embarrassed I recognize Anne Murray’s “Snowbird” at around 6:23 😬

You are a genius at making these tributes! How I miss the 1980's Epcot though. The song in the Canada movie is so awesome. Thanks for making this!

I STILL love the song! For some reason, this was always my favorite part of World Showcase and inspired my wife and I to spend our honeymoon in Canada in 1991..still the most beautiful of the Pavillions, I think, even though the film is now just weak and dopey with the new Martin Short material...thank you SO MUCH for including the Entire original movie! I miss it!

Excellent video! Thank you for making this wonderful tribute! Great history, especially the detailed site plan, with your good descriptions of things that I never knew! And your outstanding camera & editing work in recording & preserving that wonderful Canadian movie! Now I can see all nine screens without having to do the twist!
I was at Epcot on its 3rd day, Oct. 3, 1982, and came out of the Canada movie in tears! It was that wonderful, and still is! Thank you for making it real for me once again! You have not just renewed my precious memory; you have greatly enhanced it! Thanks!
I was at Expo 86 in Vancouver and they did not show "O Canada" there. They showed "Portraits of Canada" - I have an audio recording to prove it...I have been searching for a video of it....

Wow. Thanks for all the effort. Definitely the best copy of the film. Congratulations. Have you ever thought of stitching them together in a VR app so you could actually watch in 360 degrees with a headset?

Hearing the musical underscoring to the movie brings back such great memories visiting the park so many times with my best friend back in the day and seeing O Canada. Wow. Thank you for your great work, you've achieved something truly superlative here, bravo!

Love your vids. Takes me back to what I remember Disney being. With that being said since going to Disney since the 80’s I’ve never actually seen the Canada show 😲 But not being a Martin Short fan you’ve saved me a good half hour in Epcot. Time is money and I appreciate the $😉

The Canadian pavilion was always the first pavilion that I saw whenever I visited the world showcase at epcot I always loved seeing O'Canada and eating steak at lecellier restaurant. When I visit the country of Canada I always like to visit the zoological gardens in Calgary, the tyrrell museum of paleontology located in the city of drumheller, Alberta, and whenever I go to Toronto I like to visit the royal Ontario museum.

Great video as usual. Just curious why you didn't include Off Kilter and the small stage they played on for years?

Todd -Each Showcase has had so much entertainment over the years I couldn’t fairly include it all (or track them all down). I just made sure I had a shot of the stage included.

Martin are you going to be doing a tribute to Norway/Maelstrom soon? I miss the old Norway before Frozen took over. :(

Riptonia Done! I released it in 2010. Shot in HD, with full backstory, Maelstrom multi camera and high quality Spirit of Norway.

As a Canadian I think this pavilion is embarrassingly bad lol. The lumberjack costumes, mining theming and "Rocky Mountains" are pretty cringe worthy. It would be nice if it actually looked like Canada and not a bad stereotype.

I’m not Canadian (I grew up just over the border in northern NY) but I always found this a lovely pavilion, with a nice diverse blend of the different areas throughout your country...sorry that you feel it’s so embarrassing..I’ve spent many vacations throughout Canada and this pavilion always brings back nice memories for me of Quebec and Especially of my 2 visits to Butchart Gardens...If it’s any consolation, your country makes out better than BOTH of Mine!!(I think both the American Adventure and Italy both kind of suck!)

When I worked at EPCOT I befriended a couple of the Canadian Cast Members. To say the lumberjack costume is hated is accurate.
