      Thanks Chris. I know it sounds crazy but I actually think they’re easier than 28mm. Just have to be a bit steadier on the smaller details. But certainly a lot quicker to paint and because they’re so small you can get away with a bit less finesse

      The same here. No way will I change scale again (having started with 20mm Hinton Hunt and been through several changes). Now with 28mm and will stay there having painted so many. I hope Warlord are aiming to target non-historic gamers as they can get an army for the price of one large fantasy tank thing :)

    Really like this release. I ended up doing as many others have done, splitting the bases in two making them 30mm wide. Cavalry are then 9 figures to 3 bases. I find it much better for a 6x4 and it gives me 20 battalions per box and at least two of most cavalry regiments with enough for some large units.

    Love to see more coverage on this epic launch. The starter Sets in themselves offer quite a big army that goes beyond the usual idea of a starter army with around 1000 infantry men, 110 riders, 15 cannons and 10 commanders.
    I just wish they would release a quick start set for ppl getting into the game or historicals in general. Something along the 20-30£ range with a single sprue of French and British infantry, a quick start manual with basic rules/painting/story in 15-20pages, a set of basic dice, a measuring device and a cardboard building and paper game mat. Pretty much like Warhammer does since the last two years with their 40£ starter sets for beginners.

    Be more interested in they were at least true 15mm and closer to old glory figs. Also as much as I like the ranked infantry they will not base out for Napoleon's Battles by Avalon Hill. Considering I have over 3000 figs already (60 to 70% painted) not planning on starting over from scratch. May try and fold in the cav though as it is not too bad and arty guns are actually larger then other lines.

      The ACW box gives you enough minis to make up both Union and Confederate armies so you can get away with a smaller investment to start you off.
      The Waterloo range needs a starter box for each army, so if you want both British and French you’d need to buy at least 2 starter boxes

  • @leonleese4919
    @leonleese4919 2 года назад +1

    Is there a reason why you’re only mounting 5 cavalry to a base instead of a possible 6 per base?
    Heavy cavalry in particular would charge boot to boot and you do have spares. If you have only 5 on 1 of the bases, leave the gap in the centre files and replace it with a rock or a piece of battlefield detritus such as a broken wagon wheel or part of a gun carriage.
    Unless the rules demand 5 per base or the contents of the base matter??

    • @leont66wargaming31

      The bases are set up to take 5 minis. I was thinking of adding an extra mount on each base but in the end decided just to go with how warlord designed them. I have seen some people using mdf bases and splitting them up differently. Definitely agree, boot to boot would look better but this is just how they come
