I prefer the Michter's American. The unblended denotes that it's whiskey and not neutral grain spirits, and American signifies they're aging the same distillate as the bourbon but in used barrels as opposed to new. It's one of my favorite low proof whiskeys.

The Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit Camp Nelson Single barrels have been 🔥🔥🔥! Look for CN-E or F on the label. Blinded against Russel’s single barrel, rare breed and Russel’s 10… hands down winner
The Belfour stuff is pretty solid. Their single barrels are usually great and I love their single barrel rye. It was started by Eddie Belfour the goalie for the Dallas Stars when they won the Stanley Cup in 99 so I might be a bit biased. Worth giving them a try though.

Have her try a German Riesling Spatlese. A few years back we bought 8 or 9 cases of some real special stuff bottled by Jakob Gerhardt which weren't meant to be shipped out of Germany. We also got a case of German Red that was out of this world. I can't even give you a wine name as there isn't one, just where the grapes came from. One of the Rieslings the grapes were allowed to ripen and start to dry up(think raisin) before picking. For normal store stuff most Dr Loosen are pretty good and Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese is great
That Redwood Empire Grizzly Beast is a fine bottle and most Buffalo Trace is good also That Barrell SeaGrass Gold Label is an absolutely killer bottle. You wouldn't regret getting it if priced right and if around $300 you're doing great. I thought he was saying the Barrell was $60 and I was going to say grab it and run before he realizes his mistake

Regarding Joseph Magnus... The regular blend is basically 90-95% of the same quality and flavor as the Cigar Blend. The current batches of Cigar Blend aren't very special (in my experience) and the aren't hitting as high of proof anymore. I've seen plenty in the 100-110 proof range and the MSRP is ticking up. In my state Cigar Blend is $240 MSRP... So for $90 I'll take the regular blend every day. In a blind you barely notice any difference on the lower proof batches and the regular blend. If you find an sub 150 batch... sure those seem to be much better. Current batches aren't as good as most $100 bottles I own.

American can mean a few things. Typicly it just means whisky made in America that doesn't fit the rules of anything that is legally protected. It usually means the mash bill isnt >51% of a specific grain (corn, rye, wheat, or barley). Or it is, but wasn't aged in a new charred oak barrel.
I get people hating on the Willet pot stil bourbon, as it went downhill, dunno what happened to it, but man it's not good now. I had a bottle as a gift a few years back and it was delicious, finished the bottle. I bought a second a few months back and it's awful. I give it out to friends who do not appreciate good bourbon, as they think they are getting a good bourbon because it's in a fancy bottle.
