    Just added a rear camera to a 2008 tundra and this was this missing piece. Thank you!

    I've spent a long time looking for this information! Thanks for finding the bundle of wires to power my digital BU cam, great detective work!

    I upgraded the factory HU on my 2007 Tundra to a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX and am adding F&R cameras. Routing the wiring for the front camera was pretty straight-forward, but I was struggling with routing for the rear camera. I also tried to hack the OEM connection just forward of the bumper with no success. This video helped a bunch. Thanks for taking the time to make and post it.

      Glad it helped out Greg, thanks for the feedback. My scion has an AVIC Pioneer and love the deck. What kit did you use to replace the HU?

      I got my Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX from Crutchfield and it came with a Metra 99-8220HGC Dash Kit and Metra 70-1761 Wire Harness. Those two made for an easy HU install in my Tundra. I also added a very cool "Mini Timer Time Delay Relay from XDC on Amazon. I have the timer configured to keep the backup camera view on-screen for 15 seconds after I move my shit lever out of reverse so I can watch the trailer ball as I adjust the truck position when lining up to a trailer.

    I want to say if yours didnt come with a camera you need to install a fuse in the fuse box is why you had no power to the oem plug

    • @joejoe240sx
      @joejoe240sx 4 года назад

      Yeah which fuse

    • @BIGREDnotw
      @BIGREDnotw 4 года назад +1

      there is a Fuse under the Left-hand kick panel, its tucked up under the dash, Crappy spot. You have to stand on your head to find it. Google search will give you a list of fuses with description of functions.

    Where did the wire come from that went through the hole that you drilled? Under the car? Through the drain hole?

  • @bretmoua6983

    At 3:28 did you have to drill that hole? How did you power up the monitor? Which power source are you using?

    good tip. except your camera work needs some improvement; too much movement, too close. Try zooming back a little bit so people can see where you're at in the car. Instead of moving the camera around to point to objects, use a pen or a pointed object to point to what you're talking about. This will significantly improve your videos.

      No worries and thanks for the feedback. Considering the location, I did my best to zoom to areas of focus.

    Dont like the location of the camera and screen . Why not go to junk yard and get factory parts for about same price . Plug and play NO GAMES
