  • It was a really special adventure to visit Hvar, an island that has everything you need. I really think so, even though I only had a few hours to spend and explore this part of the island of Hvar, I can only say that it is worth your time and hard-earned money.
Welcome to Jelsa (Hvar) a picturesque little town on the northern coast of Hvar, Croatia's sunniest island. Stroll through Jelsa's charming streets, lined with historic stone buildings and vibrant bougainvillea. Marvel at the stunning waterfront promenade, where the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea meet the lush, green landscape. Join us as we visit the town's iconic landmarks, such as the ancient St. John's Church and the captivating Perivoj Park.
I decided that I didn't need a Hvar travel guide, I wanted to explore the place by myself and discover some places by accident, and I advise you to do the same. However, the beaches you should visit are:
    1. Mina Beach is one of Jelsa's most beloved spots, with its shallow waters and sandy shore making it ideal for families with children. The nearby beach bar provides refreshing drinks and snacks, making it a perfect place to spend the entire day.
    2. For those seeking a more secluded experience, Grebišće Beach offers a serene escape. Surrounded by pine trees and featuring pebbled shores, this tranquil haven is perfect for relaxing under the sun or enjoying a quiet swim.
    3. Dubovica Beach, on the southern side of Hvar island, is another gem. This secluded cove with its pebbled shore and deep blue waters is perfect for snorkeling and exploring the underwater world.
Back in Jelsa, take a boat trip to discover the hidden coves and uninhabited islets dotting the coastline. These pristine spots offer a private paradise where you can swim, snorkel, or simply soak in the sun.
You can reach the Hvar island in Croatia by various ferries or travel agencies, for my trip I chose one such agency from Makarska and this one-day trip to Jelsa and Zlatni Rat beach cost 50 euros with lunch on board included. If you are traveling through the Croatian Adriatic coast, take a day and visit Jelsa on Hvar, you can thank me later.
