Stari Grad is a joy to walk around. I loved the restaurant Blue Doors. Delicious food and kind owners. In June we are going 2nd year in a row. We want to explore the island on the southern side of Pitve tunnel, wander onto the St Nikolai mountaun, do some beach hopping and do everything we didn't manage last year. In June the crowds weren't to overwhelming, the water was slightly colder than we would, but you could swim no problem.
Really a fan of your channel, the way you explain👍 did not know much about this place, thanks for the great history.....explaining with small footages is awesome, enjoyed so much taking a tour of Hvar
Thank You Rok.. very informative for people who are planning a visit to Hvar. Three questions if you could help with, in case you know about it: 1. In late august do you know if we can see lavender fields? Or is it off season for lavender bloom? 2. How much typically would cost for scooter rental per day? If you used the service or enquired during your stay there? 3. In case you have been to Brac also , would you recommend Brac or Hvar for 2 to 3 days?
Thanks. Lavender season is mostly in June. For renting prices I can't say as prices went up considerably in the last 2 years. Brač is an amazing place with famous sandy beach, but Hvar offers more things to see. Hope it helped. All the best.
Thanks for the tips. Very informative as always. Great Job. Would like to know if we can drive/rent a car or motorbike with our local driving license (Issued by Home country) or International driving license is required ? I have read in some blogs that DL issued by home country is enough to drive in Croatia.
According to Croatian law you have to have international DL, if you are not from the EU. But in real life, Hvar is a small island and no one will ask you for you DL. Police usually don't check drivers on the island, unless there is an accident.
Hi. We are going to Hvar and I have one question. Are we able to drive around whole island in small car? ( Fiat Punto :) ) to the beaches and so :) Thanks a lot!
Sure you can. But to reach most of the beaches you will still need to walk a bit (few 100 meters). To get to Palmižana beach you will need to use a taxi boat, that can be found in Hvar town, right in front of Arsenal building. Maybe it's a good idea to have full fuel tank before getting on ferry, as there are only few gas stations on the island, so you don't have to look for them. Enjoy wonderful Hvar.
Thanks for the hint about the filling stations. My bike has only a 8 Liter tank! So now I know where to fill up petrol in case I'll be running short on it e.g. returning from the south on a day-trip!
Glad to help! BTW there is an awesome stretch of road, about 5 km long were corners just follow each other like on a racetrack and asphalt is new and perfect. It is bikers heaven.
Hello, Thank you for the tips. I'm going to hvar next week, my hotel is located in stari grad and I would like to know if we can go from stari grad to Hvar center port by taxi boat or taxi and how much does it coast more or less + do they have uber? Thank you so much
Wonderful that you are going to Hvar. I believe there is no regular taxi boat from Stari grad to Hvar town as it is impractical since the drive could be quite a long one. There is a regular bus line and taxi however. The distance between the two towns is about 20 km. In recent year taxi situation has improved dramatically in Hvar, so now it has become a good option. From 2019 on there is even an Uber style app to get a taxi on Hvar, it is called PickApp. Uber should also be available but I personally never used it. Thank you for your question and enjoy Hvar.

Hi, if I buy a burek in the bakery and eat on the Riva, will I be fined 700 euros?
Official representative of Hvar tourist board explained that so far they haven't issued any fines. Looks like for now signs do the trick ;)
It means you can't bring beer in some parks with benches ??? Oh noo.. 😭
If you drink one or two beers in the park or on the beach no one will bother you about it. I did it myself 🤗
It’s legal to drink outside in Croatia.
@@tonci1124 please don't encourage them 😏
