If we think about it, civilization is a mechanism or let's call it "machine" that humans intuitively developed to generate goods and services using natural resources, to satisfy "needs", that's all it is. Since the pharaohs, the "machine" used to work with a lot more of human input (slaves, war prisoners, etc). After the middle ages and with the enlightenment and the rise of capitalism, humans have evolved from slavery to waged labor (some say a type of slavery with a different name) and therefore society focuses in making the "machine" work with as less human input as possible because society and values have evolved, and waged labor has re-distributed some of those goods and services (cars, education, etc). So it's interesting to see some people worried because there is no more "work" to do (waged labor, menial work, etc) , because after all that is the whole objective of scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs, and that is the whole objective of society, to need the minimum possible human work in order to provide goods and services, for people to earn more and have more leisure time to pursue more elevated goals than just chase the daily buck. Andre Yang seems to realize that and is trying to help people see the point as well...forget about left and right, move forward....
...which, considering the US's most recent history in elections, fills me with the fear that he is - or, seems to most likely - not going to win, precisely because he make most sense... :(

Mister Mackey Yang is a good technocrat. He has a lot of good policy but a lot of which has been implemented in other OECD countries like better labor standards, universal healthcare, better gov assitance in filing taxes, much cheaper expenses in attending university, secondary schools that get people into trades at an earlier age and many more (cough *Germany* cough *Netherlands*) I like Yang but he isn't revolutionary but maybe to Americans when the US is behind the curve when it comes to decent policy. That being said, the Meat & Milk industries and lobbyists are very very powerful-I still remember when Oprah made her comment about meat and she was forced to apologise, when what she said was a personal statement about herself and factual to boot. That whole incident can help give the average person an understanding of just how powerful they are in the political and commercial spheres. How can Americans not jump at the chance to have such a genuine and brilliant President. I actually thought his sense of humor was a bit off in this one, especially early on -- which is kinda strange as usually he's best when he's among techies and entrepreneurs...for example, he came across as mildly putting down the interviewer a couple of times; as an older brother I recognize that it may be just kidding around with someone really familiar but in a public setting to folks not in on the relationship it can come across weirdly....

@@armandoc.3150 Yeah no I was just referring to his sense of humor, mostly when he'd kind of gotten silly with the interviewer/moderator to the point of oddly appearing to put her down...I recognize that behavior as an older brother always teasing my younger sister -- still! -- but I also realize that it can seem strange to an outsider not familiar with our dynamics as siblings...so probably Andrew and this lady are fast friends and being in front of techies and entrepreneurs has him even more at ease so he got a bit silly, especially at the beginning, but it wasn't a major issue at all...I was just saying it felt a bit off to me from his usual on-point if mild and generally "safe" sense of humor...I've watched him in over eighty videos now and in the last few recently he's started getting a bit "cocky" in that silly "dad" way of his which sometimes seems a bit weird like here....
@@IMSiegfried I agree -- but I should also note that despite being billed as such, these aren't "debates" (check out the old JFK-Nixon debate for a proper example!) and Ted Cruz was national debate champ of the U.S.A. in his time...didn't help him against Trump...Andrew's got only ten to twelve minutes to make his case unless he finds a way to draw attention to himself like how Trump did (but of course not using the same bullying lying tactics because this is the Democrat debate, FWIW, LOL!!)....

In the past when people were saying the jobs were going to disappear it was always the little people doing the yelling. This time it is the industry insiders and experts that are doing the yelling. It would be foolish to discount their concerns over uniformed opinions of the uneducated in the past.
How can Americans not jump at the chance to have such a genuine and brilliant President. Aren't Americans sick and tired of the typical phony politician's tone and strategic tactics of getting your vote (telling people what they want to hear and then doing nothing policy wise). What is wrong with just being "real" and giving the people the credit to come to their own rational decision based on well explained proposals and policies? In my opinion it takes two things to make a great leader and those are genuineness and brilliance and Yang clearly has both in spades. What other candidates never points fingers and blames others? Yang realizes the importance of uniting Americans in such a divided America, so he doesn't play the "blame game", which is detrimental to progression. Yang has convinced more Trump supporters than all the blaming and accusing of other candidates. Bernie is up there for sure, but I think Yang is a better candidate and will accomplish more.
