Yes, Filipnos can be the proudest people especially on the internet. But that only happens when the things they are proud of make "the Filipino life" mainstream and internationally known. A lot of Filipinos actually forget about their heritage especially if it stains their reputation as Filipinos. I call it 'Convenient Patriotism'. People are only really Filipino if it favors them.
@@ezjo it’s not about being proud of the negatives it’s about recognizing it. We are very active when it comes to things that praise us. But a lot of us sleep when it comes to our own country’s issues. We shout to the world about all the wonders of being Pinoy but we fail to recognize and acknowledge the struggles of our own people in this country. The whole world is looking at us thinking that everything is smiles and fun in the Philippines, which is far from the truth and you know that. Remember that sometimes, the only way to find beauty in a country is to look into the hopeful eyes of its people who fell victim to its wrath.
Goodluck to all to you sir (Music Game News) reaction videos it's so fun watching... Also to our Super Idol _Ibarra_ Gma " Drama King" Mr. Dennis Trillo a great actor ever...congrats more power success in big projects, careers, lovelife... GOD Bless🙏❤️👏
I know I'm late here, cause I just discovered you watched this so I'm rewatching it with you! But in reality and in all honesty, the professor is not wrong at all. I know that foreign people who watch Filipino content don't feel it that much, but it's true that a lot of our fellow countrymen are embarrassed by their own heritage, most wants to fly out of the country and work outside, some would rather be born from another country than here. However, there's a lot of roots to that as well, especially from the governance and the stupidity of the people. Like what Klay said, "It's so hard to love the country" and for sure every, if not, most Filipino could say the same. But still, it doesn't mean that we truly hate Philippines, in fact, we are proud every time we see something and achievements that represents us-it's just that when we look around us, and hear discouraging and disappointing news here and there, we get the realization of finding it hard to fight for our country when our countrymen is the root of all saddening events. This show portrayed the history and the present of the country very well~
@@YhoryXsot really, klay went to other plane or dimension parang parallel universe pero hindi futuristic kundi sya lang ang napasok sa book so hindi sya matuturing na time travel.
She didnt time travel but I think it can be considered na napunta sya sa past. She may be in the novel but the setting is during the Spanish colonization in the Philippines. I guess it's also correct if they mean it on this sense.
Wag na kayong magtalo. Para mas madaling maintindihan, na-isekai si Klay sa isang fictional world na hango sa 19th century na Pilipinas. Yun na yun. It's not time-traveling per se, but interdimensional traveling. Hindi siya bumalik, she was transported instead.
Yeah you have a point but there are Filipinos that are not acknowledging their roots once they have everything, and that's sad. We call them social climbers
Actually klay is not shy about her heritage but its mpre of she just wanted to go abroad to work because of the opportunities offered than here in terms of pay check to alleviate their living condition.
LOL we have the same reaction when Klay spoke English to lambast the Misogynist Rich boys of 1800s😂👏🏻💪🏻 I said Deym she nailed it!. Watch more of the episodes and see how powerful this Klay is....very assertive brave and sometimes audacious 👏🏻💪🏻
You read wrong, Mr. Ovela, Ibarra was away for seven years, not just two.. And Maria Clara patiently waited for his return, & was faithful to Ibarra the whole time..
maria clara and ibarra is a very good drama, I hope you can watch the episodes until the end, the episodes are super good and the story is very good, you will not get tired of watching every episode, I always watch maria clara .. so good
11:22 thats only CGI. Thats how the ports looked like way back, but majority of the sets and locations are real. They are restored by the government. Trivia: some of the scenes are shot in Vigan and the team encountered an earthquake there
This drama time travel or not is different than most koreandramas i watched with time travelers story.. Because mostly it has a chance to for the main characters to change the past or the future depends on what choices they make... But here in Maria Clara maria is just there seeing and witnessing the nolimetangere novel story without her doing anything.. Whats interesting is how will she be able to not put herself in danger there because she didnt know the whole story of nolimetangere so she dosent know what next bound to happen in the book because she will gonna witnessing it herself the many remaining chapter and not reading it..or idk haha..
I believe a couple of old Filipino traits are shown in this episode. 1. Ladies are not to insist a hand shake. It shows loke being unconservative back then. 2. Ladies are not to join a table along with the Gentlemen at all cost not unless they are asked to do so. This is one of the sickest traits back then. Equality between men and women is not a thing back then. Before, men are thought that women are there just to please them and follow orders. No need for education instead they are thought to do house chores at an early age. Women are told not to voice out their thoughts specially when men are in a conversarion. You'll know more along this series 😊
Ovelaaaa can you try to upload 2 reactions a day? I mean no pressure, I feel like once is not enoughhhh!! I want to re-watch the next episodes with you more often. Hahaha!
8:43 A huge portion of the population hates being a Filipino, due to personal and country issues, whether the politics or the daily struggle of being Filipino, poor minimum wages and overall lack of proper standard of living and I do know some of those who really hates being a Filipino or sometimes curses to be one and we cannot blame those people because they have every right to do so. And yes, there are some people who are proud and loud but not all are like that, we don't sugarcoat everything here.
Filipinos back then treat Chinese people or Chinese mestizos as lower classes. That’s why they laughed hard when they thought Klay is Ibarra’s girlfriend.
I beg your pardon .. that was the famous line of Klay so far...if only you can understand Filipino it's more exciting to know what they are talking even the little things 🤣 anyway thanks again Ovela always waiting for your reactions and later we are in episode 53...intense ....
We love BARBIE forteza and David licauco together again ⭐⭐⭐ have you seen Barbie forteza and David licauco on CNN Philippines 🇨🇿 they're guest on that TV show
There is this other side of Filipinos. A side where they belittle their own country/looks up to other countries and prefer to live there. This is true, it happens. Since PH is not that of a rich country, I mean poverty is just too much, many of us prefer to live in a country with government that supports their nation well and with employment that pays more. This tv series is so timely. Let us love our roots and appreciate what we have now that we didn't have before. And be reminded and never repeat the ostracism of the past.
You watch and admire Pilipino talents around the globe specially in the field of music and you amazed saying that Pilipino must be very proud of being a Pilipino but no, because like what Mr. Torres said the youth of today should learn to love thier heritage and country because if you can only see most of Pilipino chooses to admire other country than embracing thier/our culture. And I'm glad you've reacted to this show because I want to see how foreigners react to our culture
Can't wait for the episode 4!! Anyways, Ibarra studied 7 f yearsss in Europe! Imagineee Maria Clara waited 7 f years for Ibarra to comeback and her love for him is still the same 🤯
Having fun rewatching this with you! Your reactions and insights are very raw, honest and not just letting us hear what we want to hear. Keep it up! Fun fact: Mr. Torres, Lou Veloso in real life cameod in The Bourne Legacy. It was shot here in the Philippines. The "prostitute", Chai Fonacier has an international movie titled "Nocebo". GMA casted good actors and actresses in this production. Even those with minor roles.
Philippines used to speak the Baybayin (the original Filipino language) but was colonized by Spain and so was taught Spanish. That’s why people in that book still speaks Spanish, and they don’t understand Maria Clara speaking modern Tagalog (Tagalog & English). Even after Philippines was freed from colonization. Spanish was still being taught in school not until about 30 years ago. My grandparents can understand and can speak spanish.
Correction baybayin is a as script or a traditional way of writing.what filipino used to speak is their native language: Tagalog (the pure one) Bisaya, Kapampangan , and other language or dialect that was use in where place they are born or live.
In terms of International Recognition especially in Pageant and other significant events Filipinos is one of the proudest people but the reality is no one can say anything nothing good about Philippines except our fellow Filipino.
This is such a fun Ovela! I still haven't watched this series but I've seen a lot of videos about Maria Clara at Ibarra. But because of your reaction video about Maria Clara at Ibarra, I have also watched the whole episode through your video haha
Majority yes but these happens too but a little incidents, specially on China, ofw people were discriminated so much they have to denied that they are a filipino
Ahahah cant wait for your next episode, huhu, do you know the after my duty from, tiry, tired work, i must take my rest as soon as possible, but before the i must check and watch this, and its so satisfying! Goodnight
Klay is not originally in the novel... that's why it's easier to play her character in the show. In the Philippines, history is a serious matter so this kind of show needs to fallow what's exactly written in the novel. Basically Klay is the icebreaker of a tragic story. And as younger generation, like Klay, I might lose my mind as well considering how close minded Filipinos were in the past.
have some empathy on filipinos in the past, they are not close minded, it was just the way they were raised like 3 generations of them, they were colonized, taught to respect and fear the church and those in power, they know they were oppressed but were afraid to stand up that is why those in power are afraid of giving education...till some men and women stood up against the oppressors. don't be close minded.
"I beg your pardon." Got me everytime HAHAHAHAHAHA

That's true ovela, before women always at home taking care of babies ang do house chores
I screamed when she said "I beg your pardon" hahaha. Nice script writing from GMA.
