I hate that I live so much in the past - but just a quick glance at this clip, and I feel justified once again. Fun, classy, enjoyable....the collection of talent see on that stage here is pretty much unparalleled.
Mrs.Crocetti, Thanks for this. It is wonderful to see so much talent, and the joy these incredibly talented people experienced in their performance. They loved what they were doing and it is obvious to all watching.
Seeing Dean purposely falling at 5:20 point is classic, Shows that he tried having fun with everything in life, almost looked like he could have hurt himself. Anything for a laugh
I was thinking that same thing. It does something to me whenever I see Dean take one of his fall. It put a big smile on my face cause I know he is having fun. It also bring back the time Jerry and him was together. We sure they prefected that type of falling together.
Toni Wilson I believe I read somewhere that Jerry took most of those pratfalls partly because the slapstick part of the act was more his style, but also because Dean was heavier built and of course was ten years older. But as everyone knows, Jerry did suffer for it a great deal when he got older and was in more or less constant pain in his later years.
To measure the greatness of those four performers, between them they put 537 recordings on America's pop-music charts during their careers. Truly they were the absolute "entertainers"!
If you get a chance, by all means see: "It happened in Brooklyn" with Sinatra and Durante. "You can sing as good as Bing, but it's gotta come from the heart!"
Imagine if there is a next life..how fun they must have up there in the everafter...When its my turn, there is one special someone I'll be running to,crying to see and hug again, and then straight of to goof around with all these brilliant crooning nutcases forever.
These three had verbally agreed to do a movie scripted on Clayton, Jackson and Durante to be directed by Frank Capra. It was actually Capra’s proposal. Sadly, it never got off the ground due to Dean, Frank and Bing simply unable to work out enough time to do it. This is just a snippet of how well it could have worked. C’est la vie...
That's Entertainment!!! When putting on a show was the goal. They didn't mention the name of the lady in the bit, but I would guess it's Mitzi Gaynor. It's a shame that there aren't any performers like them around today. We are the lesser for it.
If you love Classic Big Time Showbiz, and I do... ...this is Showbiz Porn! The five of them! (Including Mitzi Gaynor!) The credits at the end! (Executive Producers: Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen! Musical Director: Nelson Riddle!) Porn! (Did the movie that they talked about, in the beginning of the segment, ever get made?)
Wow! All those legends together in one show. I can't think of one entertainer today who comes close. Thank you Mrs Crocetti.
and the sponsor AN AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS.
The reason that this works so well is because each and every one of them are great talents in their own right.
Where have all the stars gone.....to Heaven..... each....and every one. RIP!

Dean Martin was a great impersonater. That is amazing to see the three greatest singers ever paying tribute to Durante.

This is amazing. Such wonderful stars, I want them back.
Mikey Condry Wouldn’t that be terrific? But in a way, thanks to You tube, we can sort of relive those wonderful days at just the press of a button.
@@lindashelley3635 a way to not put up with the crap they shove on us instead of entertainment.
I was all of 8 years old but Lord do I remember all of those performers. Talent and Class. Haven't seen much of that in years.
So love Mitze Gaynor! Why I will always love South Pacific.
