I can’t declutter this way- I can’t pull everything out, leaving me with a huge mess if I can’t finish. Ever since following Dana White- Slob becomes clean- where you take out one item at a time to make progress - and you either IMMEDIATELY take the item to the correct place or throw away or out in a container that the contents and the container is donated- it’s changed my cleaning and decluttering life .

If I am feeling overwhelmed, Dana’s method works so good! But lately, as things are getting under control here, my add is better, so I am finding myself using Rachel’s method as I maintain the already decluttered areas.

About eight years ago a friend wanted me to make a White House Fruit Cake. It was a very expensive endeavor! Half of the ingredients I never even heard of before and the other half had to be purchased at the liquor store! Well in 8 years, I still have all that liqueur. I even moved it when I downsized. I just don’t know what to do with it, since I don’t drink it. You have just given me permission to dump it out and reclaim a whole shelf in my tiny pantry! Thank you!

it gives me great joy to be able to dispose, discard or giveaway something that just lies around but is never used. I feel a sense of joy in donating and also the satisfaction of freeing up space for a better more aesthetic look. A small potted plant also gives life if it is well positioned in the kitchen or living room.🙏

I am always very sad, when people declutter food and beverages. Food has a best before date, which doesn't mean they are directly bad after this date. Instead of tossing the marshmallows, you could bake a cake or brownies for a friend or neighbour. Reusing, especially food, is always the best option. Hunger is still so present! Lots of Love

Good day. We put plastic store bags in a used Puff's tissue box so they don't take up more space. We reuse the bags in my car for trash, for guests to take thier dirty laundry or thier dirty shoes home, for doggy excrement too. This way we don't have to buy plastic doggy bags & reuse grocery plastic bags instead. I feel better knowing the plastic bags get reused. Our old stained towels are kept for floor spills, dog baths but only a few. Thank you for your informative videos. Your ideas are great.

I have been watching all you wonderful efforts for some time. I have watched all your videos. The clarity you convey as you discuss what goes on in your head as you explain your process and decision making is both helpful and illuminating. You have created such a harmonious family, prioritising relationships rather than stuff. What a young mother you were, (I am an only child and my mother was 45 when she had me in the 60’s) and young grandma you are. Terrific your Sunday dinner prep done together so your younger kids know how. Your family together time, card games and dog grooming was awesome really. Yours skill set wow. The dogs looked so sharp, and lovely manners when they sat for their treat. Mary is so sweet checking out the decluttering to go. You have so little and that you are still going is motivating to me.

I enjoyed watching your decluttering and hearing your thought processes as you did it. I’d like to suggest something. That cupboard with the cereal- go ahead and keep items closest to how much you use them. For example, if cereal is used daily, then put it on the top shelf on the side your children are handed (right or left). The things you use less go on the bottom shelf. The cardboard box is hard to get into, maybe cut down a side to make it easier to get into. The granola basket will get messy/spill out quickly because it doesn’t have closed sides. If this makes sense-I hope these ideas help.

You would likely benefit from grouping like items in those kitchen and breakfast cupboards. You could have "seasonal" bakeware and tools grouped together.
You could also assign placement based on frequency of use. The napkins might be reached for more often than the tablecloths. It looked like placement was mostly or of habit.
Just what I noticed! I intend no harsh criticism because we all are less likely to notice these things in our own homes. :)
I wonder how much space you would gain by discarding the unused portions of sets like your cake decorating kit? Do you use all of the attachments to your appliances?

I had to stop half way as she doesn’t know what clutter is. Her video is oversold! I have huge clutter! She looks like she has little I would call clutter. So this video is really for people who don’t have much clutter. I’m only sorry I didn’t find out what she suggest for getting rid of clutter. But then, she has so little to dispose of, she shouldn’t find it challenging.

We are living in a fallen world. What are your idols. Your mobile phone, your ipad and games console. We need to spend some time seeking God instead., This world will fall away soon. Come to Jesus while there is still time., He will never give up on you. He loves you. 🙏
