In The Wilbur Soot ARG Explained), Wilbur Soot gets a job editing for the channel jacksucksatlife. At this point Wilbur had been working for the Soot House. He would go on to do some of the first Minecraft Manhunt, Minecraft But, and Minecraft 100 player challenges in Minecraft 1.17. Wilbur Soot would be the writer and big figure in the Dream SMP Minecraft roleplay server.
He also shows up in vlogs with TommyInnit and Ranboo, among other people. The Wilbur Soot ARG took place before all of that and was arguably more intense and wild and a bigger prank, since it has gone unsolved. The Wilbur Soot ARG Explained shows a much different side from I met Wilbur Soot in real life and I met KSI in real life this was even more action-packed.
Wilbur Soot is one of the biggest names on the Dream SMP as are Ranboo and TommyInnit. This ARG was actually my first introduction to Wilbur. When I saw the first video about the arg I thought it was a troll or something but Jack has said multiple times that he was never in on it and just went with it. I can confirm when I realized it wasn't a prank I wanted to call the police and was genuinely concerned for Jack's safety

As someone with OCD it's extremely possible that R. Fakier has it.
OCD can show up in many forms.
It doesn't have to be being tidy.
It's just random compulsions and sometimes obessions with things for example the colour blue or the number 3.
So it's totally believable that R. Fakier may have had OCD

I understand alot of people don't really understand ocd so I recommend watching Anthony padilla I spent a day with people with ocd.
You can do a reaction to it if you want but it's really informative and I think it represents a few of the types of compulsions well.
that's the thing. anyone can have ocd and we wouldn't even know lol. mine manifests itself in cliched ways, with the cleaning and the counting and it's pretty impossible not to notice it. but i know it manifests itself in so many different ways for others and some of them are hard to notice if you don't like live with the person or smth. so while we don't get many signs of r. fakier having ocd, that doesn't mean he can't have it, though i dont particularly think he does. and even if he did, idk if it would matter that much to the story anyway.
I believe this is the closest to the truth we will get. Also jacks editer (kai Ross) commented on red herrings video with a winky face so its probably a confirmation.
Iirc Kai does not have all the info on the arg! He has made a video about it before, I'd have rewatch that though
kai explained he really didn’t know much of what was happening during and after they arg though, and wilbur has stated he hasn’t told anyone the full story.

Silent viewer here! I remember seeing Wilbur for the first time through this ARG and being absolutely terrified of him and scared for Jack and Kai. Jack and Kai both claimed they weren't in on the ARG (setting it up), so, it was scary seeing a new video being uploaded and this man talking about being cold while chuckling to himself. I saw the RH video when it had just came out and, while I do agree with some of the points, I do think that the story went a different way than what they had suspected. Sorry for the long comment I'm about to make, just trying to state my theory with evidence.
First off, I don't think Wilbur (in this ARG) is apart of a DID system. While to some it may look like DID, I think R and I are alter egos. Coming from personal experiences, alter egos can allow distance between yourself and what you are doing. I use mine and create mine to almost act more confident, more social, and for protection when I'm bracing for a hard situation. I believe Wilbur created I and R for the reason of protection, R being the one who would act oblivious to the "embarrassing event" and I being the one who was more braced to be able to overcome the event. Wilbur slowly became I in my theory with the last video of the "Editor Wilbur" videos, no longer needing R since he knew how to overcome and had learned from the event. He learned from the event instead of forgetting about it, so, R had no purpose left.
I do agree with the OCD tie in. In the videos, Wilbur (or I) had found a way to cope with the event, but, didn't have the solution yet. I was obsessed with wanting power to show to himself that he was stronger than the embarrassing situation. Editors do have power as they can cut out parts of videos and shift the video in a way that they want it to go in. He wanted to be Jack's editor to show strength to himself and Kai, almost deflecting that he was still hurt from the embarrassing situation. Kai knew about the situation and knew he could spill at anytime, so, he tried to use power to almost silence Kai.
The final video shows closure ("isn't it nice when everything ends with a bow on the top?") though, it isn't the way Wilbur wanted it to. I is more put together, and realizing that having the power wasn't going to last forever, I concluded that it wasn't the best way to move forward and Wilbur had to face it head forward. This is also part of the reason R disappeared. Even throughout this ARG, we can see Wilbur struggling, as he keeps saying "I'm so cold". I took this as Wilbur almost losing his sense of self and him needing to continue the ARG to keep himself together, though it was just hurting him more since he became obsessed with this (as he slowly lost himself with I). He felt cold because he didn't know who he truly was anymore.
This leads back to the "bow on top" being closure. Sometimes stories don't even with the closure we wanted but closure we needed. He wanted power to forget the embarrassing event, but, he came to terms that he couldn't forget it and moved on. That's why "it's nice when things end with a bow on the top". It would have been nice if things had ended the way he wanted to, but, he found another solution. It could also refer back to the interview where he said he messed up, almost putting us in his situation - not getting the closure we wanted.
Sorry for this long comment, great video and would love to see more reaction videos on other ARG's! Also, if this comment seems a bit jumbled, I apologize - I typed in trains of thought and most of the time, I'm thinking about what to say next.

I was following the arg from the day after Jack's first one of the videos came up. Im so happy someone put all the pieces together finally
makes me so happy people still remember the arg, it was quite the era, and it’s so sick to see it be rediscovered after all that time.
the arg is what pushed me into watching more of wilburs solo content, at the time i only knew of him due to soothouse.
I myself found the story Wilbur wrote with his songs I'm in love with an E-girl, Internet Ruined Me, and most importantly, Your New Boyrfriend to fit into the ARG storyline. Considering the line in which he sang "I'm not gonna make another scene, the one I made when I was 23, means I'm not allowed in Disney World" in Your New Boyfriend, I think he's mentioning the mistake he made, that one traumatic event that caused R. Fakier and I. Fakier to exist. But that is likely a stretch.
That's what we were talking about on stream! It's totally possible but, like, would that be SO bad as to create alter personas?

This ARG was actually the first I had ever seen of Wilbur and I knew after seeing the first video I wanted more and that’s how I got into the dsmp through his content
Currently, the ARG is still yet to be solved entirely. On a podcast with HeyItsJoe, Wilbur stated that all clues had been found but the final story of the ARG is still yet to be discovered. Stating that he were to give no further clues as to not take away from the efforts of the people who’ve figured out all the hints thus far, and to keep the ARG going as long as possible. Mentioning that nobody, not even his closest friends know the entire story of the Editor Wilbur ARG.
I’d recommend reacting to (or watching/listening to the podcast in your free time) as it gives a small amount of detail on the ARG, but also is generally a good video to watch! You can watch on the RUclips channel HeyItsJoe or following the link provided:

About ranboos arg: Ranboos arg goes with the Dreamsmp which means its not planned ahead, so the arg isn't complete yet and its still going on. Thats all I know about the arg so it may not be that useful

I am the host of a system
You know, the DID trigger warning that you put there. We have that.
I personally just wanted to say that, if the theory of I Faker and R Faker being two different alters/headmates of the same system is correct, Wilbur did one hell of a good job at portraying the disorder well.
In real life we aren't dangerous at all, we are statistically less likely to be dangerous people than people without DID. BUT, Wilbur still portrayed well how it is to be part of a system, surprisingly enough! We don't get good representation in media at all so that was a huge breath of fresh air for us. (Just look at the terrible movie "SPLIT" to know what I'm talking about... jeez that's so harmful)
Anyway, just wanted to say that. I'm very proud of Wilbur for doing this, genuinely.
However, although this was great representation, some things aren't accurate with the real disorder, which in this case is okay (in my opinion) but can be harmful in other cases. Here are the most important ones that I and R Faker show:
- usually, headmates/alters can get "triggered" into controlling the body for awhile by a familiar sound, visual, things like that. The thing that "triggers" both characters are the glasses, and although that's possible to happen in real life it isn't instantly like that. When an alter/headmate tries to front, the body will dissociate and stop moving for a few seconds. As we see, that doesn't happen in the videos.
- usually, a system consists of way more than just two alters/headmates, and Wilbur's only has two which is very VERY uncommon in real life. We, for example, know 17 in our system!

this was actually my first interaction with wilbur when he had no vids on his main channel (or like one or two) it was pretty fun! I watched the soothouse videos too I remember getting deep into the arg it xD

I finally got to the ARG so hopefully I'll get to this too before too long
I remember watching the ARG as it happened (I discovered Wilbur from the early days of Soothouse). I never got involved because the puzzles were complex and I was content to just see what people worked out and read the story as the pieced it together. I don't know how I feel about this theory, it could be right but it feels like a bit of a stretch at points. I'm a bit sceptical I guess. I remember watching that interview at the end as well

My theory is that the bridge kai was talking about is near a building or statue having bow on the top. Wilbur may not be talking about bow tie, he may be talking about an actual bow.

I genuinely think that this is the strongest evidence we got. Many are doubting that the ARG ended there, and think that wilbur’s videos even today can leave hints (such as the many references he makes during the pogtopia arc, or dsmp in general).But I think they forget about the interview Wilbur did last year-ish.
We have all the clues and all the info, we just need to find it.
The problem (but not really a “problem”) is that the hints were vague.
I’ve seen this ARG when it first happened, and it was easy to get caught up in all the theories and many things coming out.
When seeing this video, and reading the document, there’s a lot of things that are sort of glossed over. Like the fact that Kai could’ve blackmailed Wilbur into doing that final video, “accepting the truth”. Or the home thing (as you were saying) we don’t know that this character is in a home, and if it is his own home, how did he go from breaking into someone’s abandoned home, to a nicer place.
Again, I genuinely think that there’s so much we can gloss over, but I’m not saying that this ARG is impossible.

Because I think remember you asking about how this all ties into Jack (I haven't watched the RUclips video yet, I watched the vod a bit ago lol) - it kinda just,, doesn't? I don't really like the theories that Kai might've been there for the embarrassing thing, just because it's a bit of a stretch. If we're to believe the OCD point and the hyperfixations point which, personally, I honestly do, then as someone with Autism who hyperfixates, hyperfixations don't have to necessarily stem from anything in your life. It can simply be finding something you like - or dislike- one day and suddenly your brain decides ah, yes, this is your hyperfixation now, have fun. So, while the whole Jack situation ties in eventually because R. Fakier got hyperfixated on him, the embarrassing/traumatic thing probably had nothing to do with him.
We see a lot of stuff tying into water, as mentioned. If Editor Wilbur really does have DID, this would mean that the embarrassing thing happened when he was a child, and it would have to be pretty traumatic. Because he also specifically mentions he did the embarrassing thing, not just witnessed it, and because there's a big theme in the poems of losing a loved one, I propose maybe when Editor Wilbur was really young he somehow managed to drown a family member, and couldn't cope with it, thus forming R. Fakier.

I've always been a huge fan of Wilbur. I've been around since the start of Soothouse, was there for the ARG, and finally a few years later ended up finding him again on the DSMP. It's crazy to see how far hes come

I’ve heard of a theory that ranboo is the white side and the black side aka the endermen side is the other side he doesn’t want to be apart of. I dicagree with this theory because during times during ranboo’s enderwalk state he’s talking to Phil in a very friendly way as usual. Another reason why I disagree with that theory is because ranboo does happen to speak endermen while not enderwalking too, so he’s most likely the endermen side. Anyways I think that dream voice is definitely not dream, in fact I think that the voice is himself, his other halve. The voice happens to mention during one of the streams that he is NOT dream and that he doesn’t know why ranboo hears the voice as dream’s, the voice also pushes ranboo to remember a time during the enderwalk state when he was in trusted the disk by dream because he trusted that side of ranboo, the voice of dream. This proves that the white side of dream is friends with dream and tends to do things for him while the black Side of ranboo doesn’t even have control over what’s happening.Those are my ranboo theorys 😋. Just wanted to theorize with y’all a little bit, don’t question it lol

Fan before any of this stuff happened so this is how I first saw Wilbur and now I'm big into Wilbur and everyone else on the dream smp
so, i'm not sure if this is correct however i feel like it would make sense. jack wasnt in on the ARG however kai was. wilbur could have chosen many content creators, however he chose jack. i feel like this is because will knew kai before and told him about the idea (NOT the plot). after kai found out about the idea from wilbur he could have encouraged him to do it through jack. i also think that kai told jack previous to wilbur sending an email, "hey jack, someone i know reached out to me with a great idea, someone named wilbur soot will send you an email, just go along with it." which would then also explain why jack replied to a random email AND why he wasnt too scared or concerned throughout the arg.
(i also think that this is why the person targeted during the ARG is kai as opposed to jack, as wilbur knew him prior to the ARG)

edit 2 : the incident might also be YEARS ago because (im really sorry if im wrong) i'm pretty sure DID is caused by traumatic expiriences when you were *children.* wilbur/ i faker is an adult (most likely, i might be wrong) so it must've been a long time ago.
edit 3 : in edit 1 i said, "PLANE CLIP, FLYING, BIRD!" as a joke... but what if the "embarrassing thing" was done in somewhere far from where he was when he started editting jack's videos. Maybe he moved so that the people wouldn't make fun of him or even be ashamed of him when meeting him in that place.

I agree about the OCD thing, there is not enough hard evidence of the ocd, but I also think that it's not really that important to the story or to R Fakier's character
i believe the did theory has been disproved by wilbur? not sure, but i personally think that, while the dynamic between the different wilburs might be based off of did, it isn't did on itself. i think wilbur said he didn't want to risk portraying it badly and feeding the stigma around the disorder, which i really appreciate. i think it ties into your point of using mental health as a plot point. sounds like something wilbur would do his best to stay away from.

This is really cool that you reacted to this but also,,, being ‘used to the dream smp where everyone has this’ is wildly wrong. The only person’s character on the dream smp who comes close to it is Ranboo’s, although he (the content creator) has stated that his character doesn’t have the disorder as he doesn’t want to portray it incorrectly, and bases his character a little off things he has experience with. The characters of the dream smp certainly deal with trauma from the events they’ve been through but they definitely haven’t shown any signs of DID or their content creators have outright said that they don’t have it. Anyway!!! Yeah that’s about it i’m glad you reacted to this, Wilbur’s ARG is one of my favourites

The disorder comes from trauma, specifically from complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD). It's important to make systems be aware of what a content has and if they need to avoid it. It's just an act of kindness and respect. /gen

Wilbur is able to play as someone who has like something wrong with them or is slightly going crazy so well that it would be believable if we didn't know this was just him kind of acting
Just a reminder that this doesnt necessarily solve the ARG, and it's just a theory. Generally in the community this theory isnt acknowledged as much due to inaccuracies in representation as well as the fact that some of these things are a bit of a reach. There are quite a few theories people have made that are all pretty interesting though. I am excited for what Wilbur has planned in the future though, since he has mentioned doing another one of these in the future. I suggest looking through the google doc yourself since it's very interesting to see all the clues laid out, and can help you make your own conclusions :D

This is a theory that we as a community don’t generally buy. Our ARG theories google doc specifically mentions trigger warning these theories and also they’re not in our official doc for the same reason. I don’t like this theory a) because it’s not a good representation of DID, and b) it feels like a reach tbh. The way DID is discussed in this video is not how it actually works, and I don’t think Wilbur would have not done research about it
