Much respect sir, I am a diesel mechanic and I’ve been trying to find out information about how test diesel engines with the scope, but there’s not a lot out there. I just found your channel and it has helped me to get an idea on how to do it. I hope you keep making these kind of videos.

How are you getting the intake pulses? does the turbo mess with the reading? I suspect you are pulling the intake pressure sensor. Or do you disable the turbo and get those readings. I just got a Picoscope awhile back and work on Cummins primarily. I have been using a scope for the last 5 months getting very familiar with-it using amp clamps, pressure transducers, pulse sensor, and using serial decoder on J1939. Very excited I just found this channel. I feel diesel guys are way behind on this stuff versus car guys. We should have been doing this. Great stuff and keep it up! I just subscribed! Thanks for any feedback.

I went in at a plugged port on the driver side or remove the the intake manifold pressure sensor, what ever way is easier. No the turbo does not interfere with the pulses from the transducer. It takes practice and research to understand the waveform itself . Unfortunately there is not a lot of info for the semi trucks or diesel engine so you have to create your own library so it’s a matter of testing on a known good and then the bad one. Happy to hear interest in the scope. Stay with it don’t quit. It gets easier
