    I just did it using a grinding wheel on a cheap drill press, It took barely any time, I am confident it can be done with a Dremel too. Great idea saved me time and money, thanks man!

      I did the same, tried a 1/4 but wasn't snug, then a 3/16 and it worked like a charm.

    You know inflation is real when it cost me 3.99 for the socket not 2 bucks lol. All bullshit aside thanks for this, I thought I had a front sight tool, I must've just borrowed one. I had the rear sight already changed and was like fuck..... when I got to the front. Couldn't find my tool so I did what any good person would. Opened RUclips typed make front sight glock tool lol. Shit worked slick thanks again! Now I know for a fact I have one!

    that's great. my problem is getting the thing back together. fat finger freddy little tiny F'n screw, my finger is fatter than the slide, magnets to try to start the damn thing, i have a patience level of zero when simple little one minute projects end up taking an hour .. lol.. thanks for the tip, i was hoping it was for putting it back

    I have an idea for a rear sight tool. Requires two pieces of wood with two holes in each for bolts to hold the slide and then a piece with two nuts countersunk with a bolt going through them. Attach ratchet to the bolt and twist away.

      you could do it with a drill. chuck the bit into the drill, spin it, and use a file or a grinding disk for a an angle grinder.

    Would a shallow socket and an extention work instead of grinding on a deep socket? I'm new to glock so I'm not sure. Haven't tried to change sights yet.

    • @ColtDaniel
      @ColtDaniel  3 года назад +1

      I’m sure it would, but you would probably have to grind a lot more material away from a regular socket. The deep well socket‘s have that step down so there’s a lot less material out at the end to grind away. But I’m sure you can make either work. If you decide to try it let me know if it doesn’t work! Thanks for watching.

    • @paladin556
      @paladin556 3 года назад +1

      @@ColtDaniel I was thinking the shallow socket might fit in the hole for the barrel and not need any grinding... but insee your point about the deep socket being thinner.
      I love making tools.

    • @joegardner1995
      @joegardner1995 3 года назад

      im not sure because the socket part gets fat before it will clear the slide, i am guessing no

    • @willb5240
      @willb5240 3 года назад

      @@ColtDaniel I tried a shallow socket with a short extension and it worked. I just grinded a little at a time till it was thin enough, and I used a flat file to get the top nice and straight.
