Great job Erik. I truly don’t want to sound negative. I get bemused reading how “single moms” can’t take care of their property due to crazy schedules bla, bla, bla. It is so sad that she is not teaching her children to go out and mow at a young age. My twin daughters started mowing at 10 years old and mowed through college and made great spending money for themselves. They never owned game boys or game players. They worked yards mowing and cleaning up, cleaned up cars, and babysat. They learned the value of money that way. If her child is old enough to drive he is old enough to mow. I would go back and finish it one more time and tell her to get her son out and push mow it. My kids have push mowed three acre yards before so he can too a small one like that. She sure is young enough to mow and keep her yard nice.

Why am I getting the impression that being a single mom means you can't mow your lawn? I see so many of these with that headline. I'm a single mom and I never allowed my lawn to get out of control. I bought a house and a mower. Evidently, they have no code enforcement there because the cost of a lawn care service is a heck of a lot cheaper than paying fine after fine.

The belt is probably worn, usually when the mower starts throwing belts it means they're stretched out too much and need replaced...all that heavy mowing that Erik does will wear out a belt pretty quick. Just had to replace the deck belt on my lawn tractor this year after almost 5 seasons of light duty type mowing. The rough use definitely wears stuff out a lot faster, and you end up with breakdowns like this. I never knew those mowers can cut through that much lush growth! When I was a kid I had to cut the grass with an electric push mower! I am allergic to grass and weeds etc and I still had to cut the grass! Lol I was a drippy wheezy kid all summer!
You need one of those trimmers on wheels, I love mine, don't use it much anymore but it sure works great for that tall heavy stuff, but it'll eat right through 1/8" thick trimmer line if you get too close to fences. I used to use mine for trimming the fence rows when I still had fences up, then got the better idea to just spray ground clear along them to solve the trimming problem temporarily, then removed the fences which made mowing much easier. I still use that trimmer on wheels occasionally around the irrigation ditches though. I think Cub Cadet makes one, Husqvarna and DR Power Equipment does as well. With all the heavy use that your mower gets its probably time to change the belt. Its most likely worn pretty good as in stretched out, which is a common reason why mower decks start throwing belts. You can't beat a commercial mower for doing work like that though. I think I will buy a rotary cutter (brush hog) for my tractor this spring and start doing some mowing jobs for people on the side....I have a mid mount finish mower for my tractor but it ain't made to go crashing through the brush LOL.

@@OutdoorswithErik Yes Yellow would look great on you 🤗
