Not sure whether to listen to this yet. I'm sat with my cat on my lap..... I don't know the story, but I'm sure Odi Cat, isn't a familiar, a ghost, a demon or a vampire lol 😂 BUT, he has extremely long, sharp white claws.......
Such a good story, one I’d never heard before.I love how EF Benson fleshes out the lives of his protagonists.Country homes, large beautiful gardens, plenty of leisure.Good friends and purposeful activity or professional work.It seems so idyllic.There is always something indefinable in the background that overshadows everything in the end.It seems there is no escaping it.Wonderful narration.
Divine synchronicity! A gray kitten has just adopted me & he's quite the pepper pot. Your narration is better perhaps than this somewhat muddle plotted EFB deserves, but after all, the voice is why I listen!

Benson wasn’t as consistent as M.R.James, but I still wouldn’t skip one of his stories if I didn’t already know it. : )
