As a bama fan I never understood why he sat at the start of his career, but it just made it even better when he finally shined

It's sad that it took this long for the Titans to realize he is the offense. I remember the days when Dion Lewis was getting more touches than him and that's when I realized I am actually quite a bit smarter than a lot of scouts and coordinators in the league.
Back when dion lewis started, derrick henry lacked production, and them not playing him was a wake up call

Derrick Henry.. The only player in history to rush for 2k yards without a single Pro-Bowler on the offensive line. Only second player to ever got for 2k yards and 15+ TD's in a season, and more 200+ yard 2TD games than Barry, LT, and Jim Brown have in their careers, combined. However, by looking at these NFL experts in the chat had he been drafted to any other team he would either be hurt, a bust, or in the case of the Cowboys, better than he is now. The fact is, the Titans franchise always seems to get the most out their running backs, even if the team doesn't see a lot of success. They draft the position well, they coach the position well, and as we are seeing with Henry, they don't mind play-calling to impose the threat he is on the field even in a "passing league". Kudos to Derrick Henry for being the athlete he is, kudos to the front office in Tennessee for making the correct decision, kudos to the coaching staffs he has been a part of to ensure he gets the carries, and kudos to the guys around him (as underwhelming as they may be) for helping him succeed.

Derrick Henry is a perfect example of how useless it is to take a RB in the 1st round. You can get at least a solid RB anywhere in the draft, moreso than other positions

@@trentonmayfield1457 You might want to understand how the game is played before commenting about other people. If CM opened up the offense for all these other players you would see the receivers have a lot of catches or high ypc average. CM is the leading receiver for the Panthers in 2019 by 29 catches and 2018 by 52 catches. Nobody is stacking the box to stop CM from running the ball. You open up the offense for other players by forcing them to stack the box to stop him. Not by catching a lot of passes at the line of scrimmage. This was also 3 and 4 seasons ago. The last 2 seasons he has played 3 game in each and averaged 3.9 and 3.8 average per rush. CM does not compare to Henry when it comes to stacking the box to stop a RB. Forcing a team to stack the box is what creates openings for other players. Example is the first game of the season between the Bucs and Cowboys or last night between the Vikings and Cowboys or any Titans game with Henry the last 3 seasons. CM does not face that type of defense. CM is a better Kamara except for staying healthy.
