I was chatting with K on her channel about the "cute and easy" books earlier in the week. She's gotten some rather negative feedback on coloring them, and she's not the only one. I see nothing wrong with coloring simple pictures, and do so myself on a regular basis as kind of a break between more complex work, and have done so way before the current easy book fad. Personally I think it's a throwback to what adult coloring started with.. before we had all these fancy books all we had were kids books.. and that was the entire point, just to relax and color like a child. We are all under a tremendous amount of stress lately, between finances, politics, wars, natural disasters...it's not surprising in the least to me that people are embracing a simpler version of the hobby. I say color what you want, as long as it makes you happy. I've seen a few videos highlighting techniques and media to enhance them in particular, and found them enjoyable.
I completely agree with you - I think it's wonderful that people are embracing simple coloring again! I'm my own worst critic (I think that's true for so many of us :)) and I need to keep telling myself to let go and just enjoy. :)
What’s to be disappointed about? You coloured, and that’s amazing! Never put pressure on yourself to colour or to colour things perfectly. Sometimes all we need is to put colour on to paper. Hoping everything goes well with your computer, it looks like your old one works for now. Take care of yourself.
Connie don't ever apologize. See, so your color by numbers turns out to be a guide cool. To the trolls who feel they need to throw out negative comments I think they're wearing their shorts too tight!! Get a grip!! My motto going forward is "Keep it Simple" "Keep Calm and Carry On". Trying to please everyone, it's what we do however we need to be kinder to ourselves. I love Maia's approach to her creativity. She has several books going, taking pieces from a page, whatever calls to her, not being concerned with finishing a page. So freeing. So don't give up. But you can totally take a break if you want.
Oh Connie, your pages are so good!! The poppy one is just beautiful! I love seeing your work- we all have days when we just want simple and other days, a bit more detail. There is no colouring judge is the sky waiting to criticise our work haha! As you say, just enjoy it! Tsmfs ❤ xx
I love what you did. I think the cute and easy pictures show us the enjoyment. Sometimes we all want to color something easy and simple. I see nothing wrong with it.
Connie Connie Connie. Your conversations with the camera feel like you really are speaking to ‘friends’. Love your ability to connect with us and to being frank about life. Colouring is great for our mental well-being and we all have good and bad days. I believe keeping it simple can be very therapeutic and being too critical counteracts the ‘therapy’ purpose. Sometimes I enjoy swatching during these moments. U really did a great job on ur November pages. Well done. ❤
Your videos never disappoint! Whether your pages are simple or more detailed, you still create beautiful pages. I really appreciate all you go through for this channel and for your fans. Beautiful pages.
I'm so glad to see your video Connie! I have missed you. I'm so sorry you've had a tough time. Congratulations on breaking in your Petra book! I still have not had the courage to color in mine so I was super impressed that you not only went for it, but it looks terrific! I love how that poppy page turned out. It's beautiful. It's great also to have some simple, just sit down and color books. The cozy bunny page is adorable. Thank you for the video.
That is a great idea of choosing your own colors for the color by number, I am going to try that myself. Your pictures are great. Be happy with what you do and try not to let anyone make you second guess anything you choose to color. I got started in coloring a few years ago when I found my library did adult coloring once a month. Someone there mentioned youtube videos and I began looking into videos for inspiration, techniques, and completed pages. I feel we are lucky to have colorists like you, who are willing to share your thoughts and pictures with us. So Thank you!
So nice to “see” you Connie!! I’m sorry you’re having to deal with all that not so fun stuff. Connie, it will all be going up from here, your Christmas break is around the corner. We love you and we’re not going anywhere! Hugs from New Brunswick ❤
So happy to see you on my feed today! How could any of us feel a speck of disappointment while spending time with you?! I promise, we like just hanging out with you, because of you! I know we are mostly internet strangers but after spending hours coloring while watching your videos, you feel like a friend, and it’s nice to ‘see’ you. I hope you are able to record a Christmas/winter pages video, I loved your autumn one so much!
Simple or complex, I love watching your videos, they make me happy, and your colouring is beautiful. I really hope life starts to get better for you. Remember, when you hit the bottom, there's only one way to go. Xx❤
So happy to hear your voice! I knew you were doing your chemist thing but worried😳so glad you are checking in and you were missed my friend! Life is a journey that is for sure! Good job! Color what makes your heart happy!!! Yippee!
I love seeing any pages that you get colored not every page has to be shaded and blended, i haven't bought any of the simple books that are the trend but there are some very cute ones out there that i would like to get eventually,
Hi Connie!, i have the portable, smaller ones from the Angela Porter books and they don’t have the colored band on the page, they are on the back of the drawing…..a great idea to do your own coloring with color by numbers… you are right, the colors are sometimes “grazy” 😂😂. Verry cute and beautiful pages! I really like to watch them!
Hi Connie, it is sad to hear that you are not enjoying your colouring. I reached a stage like that trying to do different mediums and backgrounds a while ago, I hit a slump and figured out it was because I was doing things I did not enjoy doing. I am a total introvert too and I think I might be on a cusp of autism but never tested. I detest doing backgrounds unless it is part of the background picture eg: landscape etc, I absolutely need white space where my eyes can rest and think a lot of colourists ruin their pictures by doing backgrounds. Your colouring pictures are lovely to look at so don’t be disheartened. Just be you and do you! By the way I have also learnt a lot about different chemicals in alcohol markers etc and you are my favourite chemistry teacher! Sending you ❤ Deb
Oh Connie hope you are feeling better Please dont worry about amount of colouring completed. I know sometimes it feels like events conspire against us. Please dont stress we enjoy what ever content you do, Take care.
Very nice colouring Connie, I really like your work. Secondly, my husband and I were watching this video on the tv last night and the bunny from cozy spaces blinked several times. I thought are my eyes going, or was it maybe my mind? No! You actually created an animated bunny eye🐰🐇 (chemists are great) 🥰🤗
That's so cool that I managed to create that effect - I have no idea how! :D I did put a tiny bit of clear Gelly Roll Glaze pen on the bunny's eyes - maybe that was catching the light. :)
Hey, beautiful pictures. I'm glad you wAs able to get pen to paper even though you were struggling. I hope things turn around for you soon. Looking forward to the video about your Christmas pictures. I'm from the UK and I love your channel. Thank you for always showing your pens, I know what to buy then.
I think all your pages are stunning. I am having a similar coloring slump where I haven’t really wanted to use brain cells, so I just pulled out what was closest and put color to page. Didn’t look great, but oh well. There is something freeing about that. I should “not care” more often. 😅
Hi Connie!!Hey we all have moments and if this helps you relax all you need!! Ok your ballon pg is very cool! I like the balloons!! I have the Artxx acrylic pens too. 1 i dont think the gabby wolf book is bad at all!!! The penguins are cute!!! The snowman pg is adorable!!! The ornament pg is simple but pretty!!! I like your snowflakes too!!! Your mandala is very pretty!!! Your nameplate pg is very pretty!! Your poppy pg is very cool almost modern!!! I like it!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

If you go to a channel's homepage, there should be some words listed across the screen just below the channel info (at least - that's how it looks on my computer :)). On my channel, it should say "Home", "Videos", "Playlists", and "Community". Other channels may have more "tabs". If you click on "Community", that's where that post would be found. :) Hope that helps!
