Pages that I completed in September 2024! Two very lovely ladies from the colouring community here on RUclips agreed to do a three-person buddy colour with me - thank you so very, very much to Maia from @coloredbymaia6476 and K from @ColouringwithK for graciously agreeing to buddy colour with me! I don't do very many buddy colours at all - I'm never sure how much colouring my teaching workload will allow so I don't want to agree to buddy colour opportunities and then end up disappointing whomever I was supposed to be colouring with if I don't have time to finish mine and so don't then get to feature their page in a video. I know these two ladies would be the epitome of understanding if I hadn't have had time to complete the page - I'm so glad it worked out! :)

I absolutely LOVE how the black moth/butterfly page turned out! It’s probably one of those pages that you wouldn’t be able to recreate if you tried because of all the different things you did and products you used, and even though it didn’t turn out like you originally envisioned, I think it turned out stunning. Way to persevere through the page and get it done.
Awww... Thank you! :) Truthfully - I'm not sure I could reproduce most of my pages. :) Because my brain doesn't seem able to "picture" a page before I start, I just kind of start colouring and whatever happens, happens. But it also means that I'm never entirely sure how to reproduce what I've done. Some of the more simple, straightforward techniques I try I can usually reproduce but other... not so much. ;) :)
Love your content! 🙂 Do what you have to do and take your time. Your videos are always a treat. I look forward to them, no matter how frequent/ infrequent.

I am so glad to know there are others in the coloring community who have trouble visualizing a page before you start. I actually feel like I don't have that DNA strand or whatever it is. I do my coloring exactly like you. Pick up a pencil and start! Very lovely mandala!!

I love your fairytales and folklore pages! I’m also in love with that book. I waited forever for it!! The only downside I have with the paper is how my new polychromos pencils work on it. Not the best, but def close to it!! That metallic effect you’ve been loving is awesome by the way!!
I haven't used my Polychromos pencils in that book yet so I'll have to see how they work. :) And thank you for your kind words! :)
hello, may i first say how much i enjoy watching and listening to your videos :-) they make me happy and keep me company. also, may i ask, on the very first colored page, the mandala, you said you used a black "glaze" pen. what pen is that?
So glad you're liking the videos! :) The black glaze pen I mentioned is the Sakura Gelly Roll Black Glaze pen. Hope that helps!
I wonder what would happen if you put fixative over masking? Might be worth a try (on a scrap paper maybe) I don’t have oil pastels or I’d try myself

Hi, you did some lovely pages again! I love your shiny backgrounds and it was nice to see your buddy colour. I have that mandala book too, but I've only done a couple of pages in it. I used to be a teacher too, so I totally get that you're extremely busy and tired right now. It'll get better soon ❤

So how do you blend it altogether to make it look so cohesive. It’s beautiful. Do you use your fingers or a blending tool?
Do you mean the tempera paint stick background? I go over the matte colours with one of the more sheer metallic sticks. The tempera paint dries so quickly that you really can't blend them. The more sheet metallic tempera paint helps to hide some of the streakiness and non-blending. :)

Hi, love your videos! I especially loved the metallic shine on the water done with Neocolor 1. You said you put the crayon down and then buffed it to get the shine. How do you “buff”? Does it transfer to the opposite page or do you put paper between? Aloha Sharon from Hawaii

After you've buffed it well, it shouldn't transfer unless your book gets quite warm (as then the crayon on the page would start to melt a bit) or your book gets quite squashed down. I put a protector sheet in between my pages just in case. :)
