I can understand Tarantino's frustration (he's probably got nightmares about people filming his movies during their theater run) but good job for filming this discreetly and surviving to tell the tale.

I agree with Quentin. There used to be a motive to go out and experience life, to be interested and seek knowledge of interest. Now this RUclips world is cool but has altered the lifes personal experiences by putting it up for anyone to see at any moment. As amazing of a learning tool RUclips is, film circle screenings and in person talks are for those who attend.

What if you're financially limited to attend his talk? People who seek out these videos are film enthusiasts or in the industry making movies. I would respect his his opinion not to film this, but if someone did film it, i would be glad that this got out to people. I dont have much sympathy for snobs.

tennismediadynamics well I disagree. I live in another country. I can't possibly go and attand even though I'd love to. I do understand his point and I do respect this but I love hearing him talk, he's an inspiration, and I don't think he is mad because people who love moveis will seek this out on youtube, I think he is mad when people who don't give a f**** about movies come and take a place at his talk only to make a video and put it out on the internet for their personal gain.

honestly fuck you for this, and hey quentin, if you read this, fuck you too for this, too
The only fuckin reason a someone like me knows who dumbass Sergio Corbucci is because I watch interview after interview of Quentin, and I read his reviews on his New Bev cinema page... Also, why the fuck are you here commenting this if that's the way you feel about it? Did you watch the video, too? If not, then how else did you know to know what you then wrote about? Isn't that grossly hypocritical of you? Why didn't you just turn the vid off when he said it's only for people who are there? shaking my fuckin head bro
This vid gives a context to any Sergio Corbucci film i would now watch (because, let's face it, i havent seen any of them yet), where the only one i really wanted to watch prior to this vid (where i hence learned about Minnesota Clay) was the Grande Silencio one (the one with Klaus Kinski)...
So unless ol dipshit neurotic quentin writes a New Bev piece on Sergio Corbucci, or he actually gets to writing the real film books/criticism books he said he might do after he retires from directing, the only way casual (but still relevantly interested, casual is not pejorative here) viewers/cinephiles will ever know of the supposed "Genius" of corbuccci, is if talented voices like Quentin, someone who's work I do like (or atleast like to say i do, on occasion), advocates for it
And also considering that Quentin stole that Pauline Kael book in middle school, where his justification was that no one else would need that book or do it the justice the way quentin did, I say fuck you, too again, quentin; and the same way you claim you needed that I'm claiming that I as a resident of youtube needed this...
Besides, how many casual viewers are literally searching "quentin tarantino sergio corbucci" on the youtube query to only find this video (the exact literal way i just did about 40 minutes ago)? I contend that those who search such things, have as much right (maybe even more, I can make good arguments for, I think) to be in "that room only" as those disgusting people who were there to begin with
But besides all that, fuck you quentin, I'll do whatever the fuck I want, and the same goes to you too "tennis time"
To conclude to you tennis person, you fuckin sicken me, and i'm glad i got the chance to educate your dumbass

Was this filmed at the New Beverly? Props for documenting this. I really wish Tarantino would release a series of talks that focuses on Italian cinema (specifically). I've heard him talk sporadically on the subject, but not to the degree I'd like him to.
Thanks for filming this. You risked a lot. Lol

+Juan Gonzalez In the Charlie Rose interview, QT said a big reason he doesn't like Ford is that Ford played a Klansman in Birth Of A Nation (which glorified the Klan and promoted Segregation). Thing is, Ford was always the one to bring it up, and never in the context of "Look, I needed the work, and besides it was an opportunity to work with Griffith--I didn't like the message of the movie at all", or anything...he always brought it up fondly with "funny" stories about times on the set. In effect, Ford didn't see any problem with it.

I would argue with Tarantino that The Hellbenders also should go in the "classical" Corbucci western era. Even if it was made after Django and body count aside I think it resembles the American style much closer than all of his later movies, also because it was based on a story by an American Western writer.

A master filmmaker.. And Tarantino... A thief, stealing from far... FAR... better filmmakers... Corbucci is alongside, not second best, to Leone.... Great Silence, the movie Tarantino rips off with (yawn) Hateful 8, is the coldest (in temperature and tone...) and most brutal spaghetti fliks of them all...

Tarantino is a good director and an even better writer. However...he's dead wrong about Corbucci as a director. The original Django Spaghetti Western is a clumsy movie with terrible dialogue and shoddy editing. Leone is a far superior filmmaker.
