Talk about whatever you want. You do you! Heck I'm not even here for the bikes. You're the Bob Ross of bicycle service. We didn't watch Bob Ross to learn how to paint. We enjoy your approach to the things you do.
That was well said.
Thank you for being there! For helping us stave off the hopelessness a little.
Your comments on racism, Palestine, and militarism are spot on.
I'd say they are ballpark talking points, but I'm not gonna pretend it ain't true
It is a fact that the Military Industrial Complex has bankrupted the United States. We spend so much on the military and looking at how much we spend and how we spend it is treated like an unpatriotic point of view. That's too bad, because the majority of our taxes go to the military, yet people that are upset about Taxes are also the same ones that say that we are not safe enough
"The Garbage Taking Itself Out"....Awesome comment :)
Hehe… Had to tip after that one. Perfect!
@@phatbaby4234 Nice!!
I am Puerto Rican, though born in the States, and i can almost guarantee you it wasn't just white men who weren't ready for a female president. I am SO disappointed in SO MANY people, yet again.
I could already feel it on Tuesday when I woke up, the same feeling I had in 2016. And just like then, there will be people using lies they choose to believe to justify voting for him.
Equally 52% of the country disappointed the others didn’t vote for him. Thank god for democracy.
@@th3batfinkAre you willing to tell me what it is about trump that so appeals to you that you're willing to ignore his 34 felony convictions, being found liable for sexual abuse (the civil court equivalent to r*pe), his decades-long friendship with Epstein, his mishandling of covid despite being given a pandemic playbook by the previous administration, his theft of classified documents and lying to the National Archives AND the FBI, tanking the economy, which Elon has already promised will happen again, his SCOTUS picks overturning Roe and in the process killing women and forcing newborns to be born only to die horrible deaths from untreatable birth defects, his cozying up to dictators and expressing admission for how they keep their citizens under their boot, etc?
I salivated over my Performance and Nashbar mail order catalogs back in the late 80’s as a teen. I think they were separate companies at the time. I got my first time trail bars and clipless pedals as those were just getting on the scene. I’m no longer a “roadie”, just a dude that likes to go on my daily cruise to do my errands and pick up the groceries.
Bernie woulda won! It was the path not taken. i don"t like the Dems, but I like fascism even less.
Thus is the DNC's weakness. They keep trying this horseshit where we all need to hold hands and try to """reach across the aisle.""" But people like those who vote for Trump are the kinds of people that are NEVER going to work with others and only work to serve themselves.
Fool me once, shame on you, etc. etc...
From the people I listen to Bernie had a 38% ceiling. I love the guy as a presidential candidate and he would have been a great president imo. But he needs to convince people he can do the job and unfortunately when u call yourself a socialist Democrat there will be that ceiling
When Trump won the first time Bernie went on a tour with the leader of the Dem party, I went down the the rally and shook Bernie's hand. It's sad that they never allowed him to be a party leader, just because he is an independent.. I wish we had a real 3 party system.
@@Joseminario I disagree, it's the constant Dem centrism that loses. A REAL popular left-wing alternative would work!
I lean socialist. And I've rarely had a candidate that I support. But seeing my close family defend a mans character while trashing disenfranchised people made me hate Trump. Not just dislike, but genuinely hate a person I don't personally know.
I appreciate your video because it lets me know that beyond just policy, there are others who see that he is just not a good person. And he has caused genuine harm beyond the norm that's usual for candidates.
LOL
George Carlin: „Well, where do people think these politicians come from? […]They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. […]It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out.“

I'm still in shock this happened. I think you have a really effective voice in communicating and talking about these topics. When you're around the circus long enough, the clowns stop looking strange.
It's gonna be ok...right?
Here is my life moto. No matter who is in charge, I still have to get up every day and live. So that’s what I do.
And finally, as a woman, thank you for finding clear words.
Bernie Sanders, love him or not, IS the voice of reason. The nature of that style is what is needed, along with additional parties.
I 100% agree, I was and am a big Bernie supporter. Remember when he wanted a "radical" $15.00 min wage.. heck at mcdonalds here the starting pay is $17 now. he has been right all along and he knows that the Democrats need to appeal to middle America.

The garbage took itself out lol.
We are all human beings, living on this earth believing we would be doing the right things. However, I have family members who have been SO ignorant and blindly steered into the dogmatic-lying-chauvinistic-child throwing tandrum-propagandas filth person. There's no political talking stuff in our home, otherwise, the roof would be blown off. So, Thank you for speaking out on behalf of people in my situation!

So heartbreaking how he’s broken up families. Sorry you have to deal with that.

Well said,. I am a Brit and I think The Pledge of A is seriously weird, Germans visiting have been freaked out by this, as reminded them of a certain Austrian leader they had (apparently) We have free healthcare, paid leave inc. Maternity/ Paternity, holidays and Stat Sick pay, (and nukes, less happy about) since the NHS was formed we have had a majority of conservative govts (Labour created it in 1948) Obama was a great POTUS, anyway keep up the videos, I am currently doing up an old Trek 8500 from 96, made in The US...before both you (USA) and the us in the UK outsourced everything....
Love that you made this one. I think one of the most salient things here is that Trump the personality type is the biggest problem. People like that should fundamentally not wield power. People of insecurity, moral ambivalence, and hollow charisma should NOT be leading darn near ANYTHING. There's such a difference between a conservative that wants some different economic configuration for the world, and the sketchy charismatic Machiavellian who uses emotions, vibes, trendy appeals to capture the attention of others.
I really want to move on to a world of post-celebrity politics. I want leaders to be dry, and clear, and informed, and experienced members of their direct communities, not charismatic people making cults of personality. I specifically want reforms to Lobbying, the existence of PACs, Gerrymandering, and Citizens United.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts 👍 I consider myself an independent. Professionally, I’ve worked across both sides of the aisle. Aside from a few important policy issues, it really came down to values for me. Despite the outcome, I voted my conscious. The general public doesn’t understand the nuances of society’s complex web of systems.. and truthfully, I’d be open supporting a decent human being as a GOP candidate who can present real solutions to our complex issues. Ultimately, it’s a shame the GOP has been hijacked by extremists fueled by hateful rhetoric.
Unfortunately voters will learn the hard way by suffering the consequences of what they voted for and we’re all on for the ride..They’ll remember why Trump was voted out in the first place. It’s a shame the various insecurities, including gender and race, millions have in their own neighbors have led us all down a path to this point.
I think our problems are the obscene wealth some have. The average American cannot comprehend what a billion dollars is. Median household net worth in the US is just 200K. Imagine bicycling at 15mph with a cadence of 70. Every pedal stroke is $100,000. Two full pedal revs and we're at the median household net worth. Four full pedal revs and we're at the median for those at retirement age. It would take 10,000 pedal strokes to reach $1 billion. That's 35.7 miles. Then there are those that have 200 billion. That's 7,142 miles. Round trip trans US from ocean to ocean and back. And they want more!!!
I live in the golan. You have a LOT to learn about the situation in israel.
Yeah. I know. I really don't feel comfortable bringing it up, but it plays our in our politics. It's very difficult to find accurate information sources that aren't biased. It's such a complex situation. I pray for your safety and a peaceful and swift resolution to the conflict.

I just want to say, I have massive respect for you not just as a creator, but as a person. I've never really heard my political views articulated by someone else so well. It's really admirable that you are willing to risk your channel to say what you believe and speak out.
I have a lot of friends that are talking about leaving the country, friends that are incredibly depressed, etc. It's really sad for me to see, because although I am disappointed, my emotions weren't wrapped up in this election and I have no idea how to help them. I think free thinkers and good people like yourself are ultimately the only way things are going to change. As much as I'd like to leave and as much as I can't find anything to be proud of with our country, I feel compelled to stay. If all the good people leave we're dooming this country to become just another in a long line of empires fallen to authoritarianism.
Well put!
it already has fallen quite considerably , I think your leadership should announce detente & join BRICS
I think the thing to keep in mind is that neither party truly represents us. Yes, their are beliefs that align with either or both parties, but I would say the vast majority of Americans are pretty level headed and good people with good intentions. Personally, I hate that we have 2 parties that are doing everything they can to divide us and are going to extremes to do so. I believe we all have fundamental rights and I believe the vast majority of people would agree. Its easy to get upset being online, there are A LOT of echo chambers that are just spewing doomer crap. Go outside, hang out with neighbors and friends, and live your life.
Well said.
Whole heartedly agree ❤
I have to say that I like you even more now. I don’t agree with everything you said but trump is definitely an asshole. I can imagine you and I working on bikes together talking about bikes and politics in a non-divisive way. Keep up the great work. I love your videos.
Thanks for this. I know you’re putting yourself out there, but it’s really useful and much appreciated.
Thanks for speaking your mind. I'm also in a conflicted state with all of this and I'm glad that you use your platform like you do.
Thanks hey!
Girl Dad here. I’m very worried for my daughter’s future now that the new guy has been elected.
"Be careful what you wish for" is precisely how I feel about this election. This is what the majority of voters want? Ok buckle in, here we go.
Not sure I'll sit through this one, but I'm glad you are free to have these opinions and make money expressing them! As per our previous comment "chat", we don't agree. But I'm not unsubscribing, either. Keep up the great bike work!
taking the option! YES! ✌️❤️🚲
I just dusted off and tuned up my Woody Guthrie inspired “this machine kills fascists” bike. I have a hunch it will be my daily driver for the next 4 years just like it was during Donald’s first term. Keep up the great work!
We are facing these popularists across our democracies, we really need an international movement with a manifesto. The european parliament is facing irrelevance as so many MEPs are from the far right, for example.
A great deal of future migration will come from climate change, mitigating this would in itself reduce migration. The irony of being science denying whilst wanting to reduce migration is not lost on me.
I'm really glad you are making these videos, it gives me some hope knowing theres some wisdom out there in the states.
Did we all just forget how to have fun? I noticed it's really hard to be angry on a bike! Thanks Andy.
Here in Germany we have way more than 2 partys to choose from, which forces them to cooperate based on who has how man seats.
Right now we 3 partys who work together to provide a working government (nervermind, it just blew up).
Haha that comment did not age well🤣 greetings from Austria, where we still can‘t work out our coalition, weeks after the election..
we are experiencing the same tendencies in our government and opposition in germany. always on polarizing ends of the spectrum unable to meet in the middle and thus losing voters to the loud right-wing populists. it's a shame we're unable to learn. always behind america on any mayor trend. hard times ahead of us. yikes!
You can take a zip tie and crank it down tight around a cable before the fray, then twist it clockwise while moving it toward the cable end and it'll straighten and twist strands back together
Agree 100% that character is key, and all good things come in its stead
I'm happy with the outcome of the elections. You have your opinions. I have mine. And in 2024 in America, we can still have different opinions. That doesn't mean I have to dislike you because you have a different opinion. If I'm ever in WI, I'd love to stop in and have a discussion over a cup of coffee. Because until recently, that's what we as Americans used to be able to do. (We will live through this, we always have.)
And hopefully media won't censor our side anymore. How can anyone make a informed opinion if they are only allowed to hear one side.
I couldn’t agree more with you. How do we get relatable, likable, thoughtful people like you involved? You are right on the money. Good for you.
I’m not your guy. There are others far more qualified.
I actually think running for office is really brave, especially in this environment. I’d only want someone who was willing to do it.
in today's populist political environment, you need to have some pretty high narcissistic tendencies to thrive. I'm just moderately narcissistic.
I was bikepacking on Nov 5th, and at around 11pm, I walked down a pier in Sausalito/Marin (CA) and ran into a man who lives off of his boat for decades. Ever since this encounter, I've conscientiously lived by his words in order to not get things on my nerves: "This election is going to get people angry no matter who's going to win. So, if Trump wins, it's gonna affect me from my right fingers to my right elbow. If Harris wins, it's going to affect me from my left fingers to my left elbow. The rest is how you treat other people around you." Talking about wiseman at sea... And he sure warned me the wind directions, danger areas and pointed out some best food areas to try.
Probably the kindest and sweetest (if not wisest) man who I've met so far. We ended up chatting for 30mins...great little "ah-hah!" moment.
America done effed up.
I am a northern IL (WI border) transplant to CA from more years ago than you have probably been around. I loved your no nonsense take on things, and I felt relieved to know that my old beloved vacation state still had real good thoughtful people. Besides, I enjoy your content.
It's interesting that you bring up the 1950s & 60s. Because back in that time, most Americans were better educated than they are now. Everyone saw the advantage of higher education.
That all started to change in the 1970s. There's a video (ruclips.net/video/KrU6F-S8VMo/видео.html) that explains how we got to where we are now with "anti-intellectualism" fueling the conservative mind.
And I am with you on voting for the independent/3rd party people. Voted for Nader, wanted to vote for John Anderson in 1980 (he dropped out before the election), left the Presidential choice blank in 1988 (Dukakis vs. GHWB), wanted to vote for Bernie in 2016, and voted for Stein in the last two elections. Mostly for me, local issues and elections are more important as we're more likely to be directly affected by what local politicians do than the national ones.
There are plenty of Republicans that would hate to lose their Obamacare/ACA. I know of a few trumpists who would be dead by now if it wasn't for Obamacare care they happily signed up for but still voted for trump.
We will not remain silent. Silence is complicity.
Thank you!
Thanks Andy. The USA loves the 2 party system and politicians will never allow a 3rd party to blossom. In Europe, as you know, there are multitudes of political parties such as the Greens, the communists, socialists and the alt far right such as the National Front (nowadays the Rallye National) in France etc. Come the election they make coalitions which foster compromise and sensible policies. Also the need to register as either a republican or democrat because of the primary system the state governments know where their supporters and opponents are it allows partisan legislatures to gerrymander districts to ensure that their party is in a majority - you only have to look at Florida to see the effect that the Republican Party has had on redistricting to dilute the democrat vote so that the republicans maintain and build their supermajority in the state which allows DeSantis to pretty much do what he wants. Getting the republicans out of power in Florida isn't ever going to happen. I live in Fl but cannot vote as I am not a US citizen. I was totally distraught yesterday when I got up and found out Trump had won, how can Americans be so stupid as to vote in a criminal. My guess is the stupid people were just focused on the huge increase in the cost of living in the last 4 years and wrongly blamed Biden who has no control over prices that are driven by republican corporate greed. I do vote in the UK elections via mail but my vote is basically wasted as the district I vote in (where I used to live) is so strongly Labour (socialist) that vote for the Green Party will have no effect given our broken electoral system which is not proportional representation. There is very little difference between democrats and republicans in the USA, both are bought and paid for by the same lobbyists but they like it that way and keeps out 3rd parties such as the Green movement. I'm with you 100% on the fact that Trump is an abhorrent human being a fascist at heart. He said it himself "I like stupid people because they vote for me". That is the crux of the matter - lack of quality public education in the US where independent thought is frowned upon. Thank you Andy.
Ugh...you're right, aren't you :_-(
we don't even teach the techniques of reason & logic, "critical analysis", comparative history, philosophy, ... none of that in grade school, less & less so even in college. in general, Americans are not stupid... but they are very busy trying to keep head-above-water under the influence of fantasies pushed by media & consumer marketing (which benefits from a malleable public). generally, the issue is ignorance - self-defeating in any democracy. self-government demands wisdom among the participants in order to engage in compromise that over time (iterative improvement through feedback) builds civic consensus. it ain't easy, but as ol' Ben said... "a republic, if you can keep it."
I also have people say, "if you don't like it here, why don't you leave?" and my response is always that I plan to stay just to be a thorn in your side :)
Spite IS a pretty powerful motivator for a lot of things.
You and I could not be more different in a lot of ways, but your description of how things have progressed since the late 80s and early 90s was SPOT ON. Specifically the Limbaugh stuff (I know because I was a Limbaugh listener around that time until I realized what was he was really doing). Guys like him figured out how to cash in by making people angry and divided, and Trump is just abusing that same exploit, only he figured out you can use it to get the world's top job. In the words of Trump: "sad."
This is the exact correct way to be handling this. This is the kind of rhetoric that can move our country forward. We can talk to the other side as our neighbors and as humans without capitulating to MAGA’s hateful or incorrect framing on the issues. Really hoping we can get back to when half the country wasnt hallucinating, if we were ever there to begin with.
Sir your political views are in sync with the reality. I enjoyed this video! And finally, may God have mercy on us in the next 4 years!
I consider myself a conservative and began watching this video thinking I would disagree with your ranting. Not so much. Subscribed and planning to stay subscribed.
THAT'S THE STUFF RIGHT THERE BABY!
Really appreciate you and your content. This helps, just knowing there’s like minded people out there putting people over money. Thanks bro.
Speaking of Performance Bike. I really liked that company, especially after they opened some stores in my area (metro Detroit). Their house-branded stuff was pretty good - clothes and accessories (pumps, lights) and tools, mostly. They also bought the rights to Fuji bikes so they carried at least the name of my favorite, first road bike (1972 Fuji Finest, which I still possess and ride occasionally) I was sad to see them go, but the local bike shops were probably glad as they were similar to a big box store in terms of size and selection which I'm sure pulled a LOT of sales from the smaller shops.
About your rant - Please feel free to speak out. I can choose for myself to agree, disagree, listen, not listen, that's MY choice.
Did Amazon kill Performance and Nashbar? I still use Nashbar stuff.
I have too much to say but just know that your words are my words. I am 66 years old and I am crushed by what happened.

I appreciate you using your platform to talk sense and aren't afraid to have convictions and say them out loud.
My childhood was in Wisconsin and I heard a lot of racist comments from my father and relatives. And things haven't changed much unfortunately. I have an elderly white woman neighbor here in Florida who said she can't vote for a female or a black person. I could not stand Trump when he was young and a democrat. He is just a horrible person who did a lot of damage and short changed a lot of people he did business with. 7 bankruptcies speak for themselves. RUSSIAN oligarchs corrupt money saved his ass years ago.
Spot on we trust the people that voted for him will absolutely LOVE, the higher prices we'll all pay on e-bikes, etc. Remember.. he's "protecting" American jobs .Then tell me how many e-bikes ARE made in America today ?
A lot of us remember how good it was back then and are excited to see America thrive again.
@@juliaharbeck774 It won't. and it never will, not through Trump, anyways.

Well said!
Thank you Bike Farmer, for having the courage to say what you think. I am not as brave as you.
I'm educated enough to know that politics matters A LOT. But I'm also smart enough to know that I can't care about it anymore. I have to structure my life to not need the government in any way. I live in Brazil and everything here feels like we're cosplaying the US (we even had our own January 6th little thing with people invading and stuff).
I could care, but it would drive me mad. The fact that people over here can only see two sides, and have FOREVER only ever seen two sides is the final nail in the coffin.
Hell, we even had a f*ing coach who sells courses to "become a man" almost become the state governor for the richest state in the country. He got a sht ton of votes. Dude has absolutely nothing on his curriculum other than selling courses and doing talks to weak men.
Hell, our last president (the right-wing, trump cosplaying one) was literally an army captain who was taken out of active service for threatening to blow up battalions if his salary didn't go up.
When I was a f*cking private, I went 3 months without a salary because of an issue on the system, and know what I did? Put my head down and did my service. Dude is some of the worst things I've ever seen in a human person. Hiding all that bs behind "family" and "conservative" values. Also, during his time, we had like 5+ ministry of health during freaking covid, dude promoted all that bs medicine that didn't work and also was anti-vaccines, literally said "if you become an alligator don't blame me". Jesus Christ just remembering this thing makes me mad.
Insane amount of respect to you. I agree with so much of what you’re saying. My two cents on military though: ideally it would be great to not need it, but sadly other superpowers aren’t against violence, the best deterrent from aggression is a massively scary military. It has been downsized quite a bit, though. Hope your day gets better good sir.
I feel like you could fix all my bike problems lol
I too voted against trump.
I believe people can vote for whoever they wish, I just want them to be able to justify their vote. I don't think most of the trump voters can do that.
Thanks, BKEFRMR. I remember what it felt like in Milwaukee in 2004 when we went blue, but Bush still won. Feels like that again today, though GA went red. Thanks for talking to everyone and finding common ground with everyone.

Brother, first let me start by saying,' I enjoy your videos.
I don't know who "they" are but. They want to keep Americans fighting amongst ourselves. I'm personally think it's sad that Trump and Karmala are the BEST we have to offer as a country of 300 million people. Politicians will promise the people who support them whatever they want to hear to get elected. We don't have to agree, but we do have to get along. We are all Americans.
"they" are AIPAC, multinational corporations and their most-vested shareholders (billionaires, elected officials with ties to industries. the revolving door between representatives and private equity)

I love this! Thank you so much.
Being Canadian from the city of Gatineau wich is across the river from Ottawa, I voted Neo Democrat in the last two elections even though third parties have no chances of getting to power in my district because civil servants in Gatineau and Ottawa are always scared to lose there jobs if the conservatives win. These next elections I will have to vote Liberal (Trudeau 🤢) because the Conservatives Pierre Poilieve 🤮 borrows from the same playbook as Trump. B.T.W. I'm really thinking of ways to start my own business. Working for someone else really does suck. It's always back stabbing sicophants that get there way.
any conservative and/or republican people reading this that didnt vote for trump this year?
i find it hard to imagine a world where anyone like that would vote for a black and brown woman over a fascist.
please try to change my mind.
One statistic I have always remembered, is the five biggest employers worldwide:
1. China military
2. US military
3. Walmart
4. McDonalds
5. UK National Health Service
Free healthcare for all, regardless of wealth, is far more worth spending money on than wars. Zero bankruptcies due to health costs, fewer sick employees taking time off costing businesses money… the benefits for everyone are amazing, even in a country where almost no one has a gun, not even our police, so almost no ever gets shot.
The UK NHS is awful; huge waiting lists and then they just try to pump you full of the meds they make the most on. Unless you arrive in a dinghy.
@@ronwhite8503 Well, Brexit and defunding the NHS isn't exactly helping things for you lot.
@@ronwhite8503 It has suffered from decades of cuts and internal privatisation making it inefficient, but it is still far better than the US.
Oh and... the "Rant Stand" has become a favorite of mine!
Proud Trump Voter who just installed a Pristine SunTour Dork Disc on an ‘86 Peugeot Canyon Express.
It's a free country my friend... speak your mind!
I bought two frames from Performance between 2004 and 2007. A $99 Access MTB (aluminum) and a $99 aluminum tour frame. They are both great.
oh, and my four-year news sabbatical began yesterday.
I agree with you and I'm depressed with America too! It seems like we should be able to do better but politicians as a whole rarely seem to rise above much of anything any more except self interests.
One thing about voting for 3d party candidates. I never do it and won't until I see one win a major election. So far, either the Democrat or Republican is going to be the winner so I vote for the one I like best (like Harris) or for the lesser of two evils. In Trump's case, anyone is the better choice.
Keep stating your opinion and making great videos! I love it all!
Canadian here, agree with everything you said. American politics have an affect on us. We care. Enjoy your bike videos, I'm a volunteer bike mechanic and have been fixing bikes for 50 years.
You crack me up! Also, what you know about these obscure bike models and brands is amazing! Regarding dork disks - I tend to leave mine on until something happens - usually a spoke breaks or some wee plastic clip breaks, and then I take off the disk and don't replace it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and when it does break, also don't fix it 🤣
I've had a question for a while watching you clean bikes: what becomes of the soap residue from the PowerWash? Whenever I hit it with water, it foams for days, but you squirt it on and just wipe it off. Does your rag get gooey? Does it leave anything on the bike?
I'm quite conservative, especially on social issues - although there are certain areas where I probably lean more liberal. I voted for republican candidates in every election until 2016 and 2020, when I voted third-party because I couldn't stomach voting for either party's candidates. This isn't about party politics for me. I actually even considered voting for Biden in 2020. I've considered myself a political nomad basically from the point at which Trump gained the nomination in 2016. I was right there with you and many others, including a lot of the other conservatives I know, hating Trump. But I voted for him this time.
For me, the beginning of my change of mind was the assassination attempt, and what happened in the aftermath. First off, I was shocked at how cynical my initial response was: I honestly wondered if it had been staged for publicity. This caused me to really reflect on why I would have such a cynical and callous knee-jerk response to such a thing. Then, I found myself one day around two weeks afterward going, "Wait, Trump was nearly assassinated and I have barely heard about it since then." The speed at which it was nearly memory-holed as a news story was astounding. These two things had me reconsidering whether my opinion of him was based on fact, or on a caricature. Finally, as I leaned into trying to learn more I found that it seemed as though much of the rhetoric around him is overblown and seemingly intended to inspire fear and hatred for political expediency, rather than actually trying to defend democracy.
So I voted for Trump. But I didn't wake up Wednesday going, "WAHOO!!!" I'm glad Harris didn't win because as far as I could gather she either didn't have a plan/direction, or the one she had was so radical she didn't want to really lay it out. However, both my wife and I expressed at the end of the day yesterday how we found ourselves feeling pretty ambivalent/uncertain throughout the day. I hope that's not because we chose poorly.
What I'd really like to see is the Republicans, should they hold sway in all three branches of government, sitting down at the table with the Democrats to break bread and really talk about how to thread the needle on the challenging problems we face as a nation. What's more likely is they'll try to remake as much of the country as possible into the image of the Republican party, whatever that is now, and in 2 and then again in 4 years the Democrats will regain more power and do the same but in the opposite direction. I wish it wasn't that way.
One last thing is that I find it an ugly symptom of the current political climate how we all paint each other with such broad brushes. I know a lot of conservatives, and I can't think of any that I'd label as uneducated, Christofascist, MAGA garbage, although most of them have voted Trump three times in a row now. I also know a decent number of liberals, and I don't think they are overeducated, arrogant, soft, lazy, entitled proto-communists. Furthermore, the assumption that those who voted for Trump are racist, sexist, and mysoginist is as lazy and ugly as is the assumption that those who voted for Harris all hate America and want to turn it into some kind of socialized Europe-lite. We can all do better.
Let's all go on a bike ride and talk things over. We ought to be able to figure at least some things out.
If ever you find Performance brand collet bar ends, save them for me! They are the best bar ends I've ever used, super strong connection to the handlebar.
I kinda blame Limbaugh for all the hate and disgust in the Republican party. Then of course trump gave him a medal
It was Reagan. He defined government as bad and the poor as cheaters.
The funny thing about this video is people will decide not to watch because they think they know what will be said but really it’s just a guy talking and really is a perfectly reasonable opinion piece video.
came for those dirty bikes, stayed for the genuine expressions of political frustration.
this is the exact type of content i hope more people consider making. in many political spaces it feels (at least to me) like there is a massive lack of people willing to engage in calm, good faith, and rational discourse.
thanks! ✌
I feel like our culture as a whole is broken. No matter which side one is on those that are in control are drunk with power and do not have any inkling what real life is like anymore. Most of us are moderate and just want the chance to live a free, successful life but unfortunately the extremes on both sides scream the loudest and get the most attention. I don’t know what if anything will fix it anymore.
I kind of felt like it was a waste of time to even vote this time, as neither of the parties represent common sense anymore. I still did my duty and voted, but could not in good conscience vote for either establishment. I essentially voted against both.
You have an adult attitude; I appreciate it. Your favorite restaurant isn't going to let someone come in and harass the other patrons with their unhinged ranting beliefs. Why should a youtube channel be any different. I immediately ban people posting toxic trolling opinions that are only there to get a rise out of people. It's the right thing to do for the vibe of the channel and for the rest of the audience who are behaving themselves like grown adults.
With all that being said, I’m out!
But, I’ll be back tomorrow 😊
I enjoyed the rant. I listen to a lot of political podcasts and this was refreshing. I don’t like the divisive language going around but I don’t think it’s insulting to state that most Americans are il-informed. Not stupid, just Il-informed. Notice how nobody is complaining about election fraud right now? Interesting.
Right? Cannot respect them at all.
Honestly, it'd be strange if you didn't talk about the election in your videos. We're here for your personality and opinions. Keep it up from Ireland.
