    I was pretty blown away not just by Allyson's story, but the way she tells it. It's interesting to think about her in the context of other superstar athletes who made big, sometimes risky, decisions. She opted to have her brother represent her and broke away from the established agencies, just like LeBron James did with Rich Paul. Lots to explore here with a new generation of outspoken athletes taking more control of their own off-field, off-court, off-track destiny.

    She’s a living legend off and on the track. Thanks to her Nike now have back pedal and changed their whole trajectory of manipulating women in sports, giving them maternity compensation. I am happy her brand is getting bigger and more recognized. Congratulations Ms. Felix❤❤❤

    We need to reform running into a financially lucrative career so that runners don’t have to solely depend on shoe companies for salaries and sponsors. Unfortunately running bosses want to preserve its culture even when it keeps the runners so broke.

    What type of pregnancy is she describing? and what are the complications with the maternity ward that she is describing? I never had any kids & I don't understand her lingo.

    Nike routinely undervalues athletes in the less popular sports - women, men...makes no difference. That's not exactly a shocker. Look at their parting ways with Roger Federer in 2018 after 20 years rather than pay him on the same scale as someone like LeBron James. They repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot - pun intneded.

    The focus on black women athletes rather than women athletes is quite shameful and that's kind of racism. Should have focused on women athletes as they also feel the same way

    • @antonymwangi4986
      @antonymwangi4986 8 месяцев назад +4

      It is. But is also appropriate to consider that white women will get a deal with Nike. Not due to racism but because they have a large audience.

    • @marjorjorietillman856
      @marjorjorietillman856 8 месяцев назад +5

      Amy, it’s obvious you haven’t experienced racism! Anyway, do a little research on the extensive study on Black women (done by Whites) and the medical field, and you’ll find out how racism is practiced in the medical field! But I’m not going to waste my time on ignorance. Allyson Felix is a role model both and off the field!! Intelligent thinking people will see the value of what she’s saying and doing, both Black, White, and ALL women!!❤

      I see first hand the inequalities in black maternal care.😢 . I see where 90% of the bad outcomes were for black babies for a period of time even though black patients make up 1% of births. This is sad . Thankfully more eyes are open to this and we are making strategic changes to make things better. Overall the staff is not ‘racist’ maybe , but they have ingrained biases that impact the decisions they make and sadly they don’t realize that.
