My Kosei wheels have rare center caps that essentially no longer exist on the internet and the only site I've found claiming to have them wants $90 a piece if I remember right. 3D printing some is def in my future.
Hello man what are your petg settings to make Centre caps cause what I am struggling is my Centre caps legs break off when they get fitted cause it needs to be a little to be flexible please help man I tried 22 different ways with settings and not working and did take all measurements
Would you be able 3D print other things the clips from the molding of the roof of my gto broke so now it’s just hanging I tried looking it up online can’t find any gtog8ta do t have them anymore
I wonder how hard it would be to 3D print a new lens for the JHP dash gauges... there are no new replacements to be had anywhere. They scratch very easily and look bad after a while.
Clear stuff never really comes out nice enough to see through from what I've seen. If the lens is flat, it would probably be easier to make it out of acrylic sheet or something.
@@CarsSimplified It is curved in spots. Doesn't look too difficult, but then again, I am by no means very knowledgeable of 3D printing. I could send you a picture of it if you want to see it.
I looked it up before replying but I didn't get a close-up image of the lens itself. Still, the clearest 3D printed stuff I've seen on home printers would be pretty tough to read through. For a while I was getting ads for some company that was 3D printing custom lenses, but I believe it was a special filament, a finishing process, and possibly even a post-print treatment of some kind. The technology is getting there!
The issue wasn't modelling it as a 1:1 copy. You could easily do that in a couple of minutes. It's about making a design that can be 3D printed out of plastic so that it's still stable enough.
The awesomeness of this is, my first 3D printer ever is showing up today.
Oh, sweet! What kind did you get? Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Bossssss. Great timing.

Phew! Lots of measurements just going into makig that cap! Very well done
How dare this man have my exact idea months in advance of me.
Nice toy! You can make all kinds of stuff for cars and everything else.
Indeed; it has been a game-changer!

@@CarsSimplified Interesting... I might look into a company doing it down the road.
I'm missing ONE cap! I wish I had a 3D printer!

Oh boy, just wait until my man hears about the "Align" tool.
