      Yep. I've had professors with a PHD in computer science, but what good is that for the students, if they don't have the ability to impart their knowledge to the students?

    I did this at work but didn't understand the why as I was being walked through. You did a really outstanding job of going over this and making it understandable. Great work thank you !

    This video was amazing, thank you! I was setting up a network mount using the fstab and I saw someone say to write permissions using 0770. What is the first 0 in the string? Shouldn't it just be 770? (I know I am giving full access to the user and group and none to guest)

    I don't know if this is standard in every version of ls (mine is 9.3) , but whenever I wanna view the permissions and such of a SPECIFIC file using ls, I can just enter the name of the file right after it like such: ls -al file_to_view.txt and be shown all the info only about that file, no need for grep

    Hi i want to Enable write and read access to my folder . how can i ho that, the folder is on my desktop. how to locate it in terminal and change it read access ?

  • @somecatyoudontknow6471

    What do you to if "sudo chmod 775 dir -R" is being ignored by they system? I set folders to have shared read write and execute for users in a group, but they system has ignored all changers, and when in terminal or the file manager, it behaves as though the mod is set to 755. Help.

    • @somecatyoudontknow6471
      @somecatyoudontknow6471 Год назад

      Note: when I change the mode to 777, it isn't ignored and functions normally.

    Hola, Tengo 2 servidores ubuntu 20.04, uno esta como controlador de Dominio el otro esta solo para almacenamiento, el de almacenamiento ya tiene la estructura de carpetas compartidas y lo tengo montado en el servidor de dominio. El problema es que los usuarios del dominio pueden ver las carpetas tal como esta en la configuración del smb.conf. pero por más de intento no logro que tengan escritura. Alguna luz maestro.
