The opening riff is a cross between sugar pie honey bunch and come on Eileen…love this song and love this band….does anyone know whatever happened to Jimmy marinos and why he left? And what ever became of him?
He left to form a new band called Motor City Rockers. You can see some of the stuff on this site. I heard he wanted to be a front man and did not like being behind a drum kit. Which is too bad because he was fun to watch on drums. You can see from Motor CIty Rockers he was a front man there, That was early 90's so I don';t know what happened to him after that, I did see him once at a KISS concert in Detroit, but that was back around then also.
Look, their one hit for me, which goes down as one of my favorite dance songs is "What I Like About You". That's literally it. I have no idea what kind of person beyond the age of ten, would actually like this drivel.
Um.....because it's not a HEAVY drum song!! The Romantics weren't a heavy drum band, even with Marinos.....oh I get it, that was a dig because he left.

These guys were a lot of fun to listen to in the 80's. I still like them. Hooks, grooves, cool vocals. I have never heard this song before today.

Was a big fan in grade school and highschool, but didn't care for this album at all. Maybe I was bummed Marinos wasn't playing on it.
Marinos had terrific charisma and was a stupendous performer.

You just have no taste in music, you can hear the Motown influence in their music and Motown is some of the most loved music EVER!

They had quite a few hits, far from One Hit Wonders.
And, if anyone thinks they were not distinctive, then they just don't have much of an ear for music.
