OSMC gave new life to my old RPi 2. I use it for retro cartoons, 80s/90s shows, etc on my B&O CRT via composite. It's a real time travel :)

I have 2 osmc raspberries, one for living room and one for bedroom...
And i have media server with NFS (network file storage) and MariaDB (sql database)...
Something really cool happens when you make both kodis point to the same database.
I can stop a video in the living room and continue watching it the bedroom.
    That's my favorite feature :)
Edit: Forgot to mention. i've had this setup for 2 years now... and probably wont be changing it any time soon :)

@@DrHappybone Thats a oneo f the problems with the pi 4, they rushed production, they say that later versions will have less of a problem, and this is running off of a pi 3, i imagine it doesnt do above 480 and if it does is probaly cause of the os managing resources

@@SourScotchOnTheRocks Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of getting a Pi3 to make a Kodi box for the tv in the bedroom. I would only need 720 I think, 1080 would be nice but not demanded. Would a Pi3 be able to handle that?

Doesn’t work well on the Pi 3, that’s why everyone is doing it for the Pi 4. Works way better on a minimum of two gig version. They stopped production of the one, but it’s still out there, get the two at least. I’ve played around with the Lineage version and it works well, I’m just having issues with my external keyboards not working great. They’re older so I broke down and spent $14 on a new one, just waiting for it to arrive.

      "OSMC" does not support "Pi4".
"Libre ELEC" is the savior of all Raspberry Pis.
The OS is lightweight, highly reliable, and compatible with Pi4.
An OS that can allocate 640MB to the GPU memory of all Pis.
If you use "LibreELEC", you are not afraid of "video failure".

Hello guys, I've got a question for the community: I'm owner of a DeWalt radio (the dwst1), on the top it has a generous waterproof compartment were to store the power adapter and another compartment with an usb port and an aux input. I thought that I could easily intall in there a raspberry pi with a touch lcd screen and take advantage of the usb for power source and the aux for the audio (obviously) and with my 3d printer, create a nice cover to set everything tight and nice. Maybe then I could install an hdmi port and connect direct to the battery soket another port to connect a small monitor. Do you think that the idea is worth the money? Do I have to worry about temperatures? Any suggestion and opinion is greatly appreciated :3

Is there a way to stream stuff from it to your smart devices. Like, I could attach a USB with my videos to it and then stream them to my phone. Would this be possible?

It's your power supply or the outlet where you connected it too. The pi doesn't like it when you share power with other devices on the same plug.

Id like to know this too. Think a dual boot may be a solution.
