Hey thank you! Unfortunately I haven't dyno'd the car yet. I've been curious to dyno it and see the real numbers too so I may have to do that one day. Driving with the tune off and on is a huge difference though. I leave it in Race mode. The throttle controller and tune is the pair that's most important for the is200t for sure.
@@Kxna625 yeah man made a huge difference sounds wise. Took my little brother for a drive in it and he said it sounds like a spaceship. Kinda want to muffler delete but I am a bit hesitant since it is a 4 banger
I think if I started with the v6 motor it'd be a good platform but I like the boost option. I should be close to the power of the v6 with the mods and tune that I have wtih spending less than $1200. I do like the power of the v6 engine though.
theres no 3L v6 in the 3is only the 2is but the 3L was only available in asia, and also if it wasnt for ecu restriction on the is200t it would easily push 300whp as the engine itself is able to hold up to 484hp and the 6tranmission is the same as the isf so its more then sufficent for the running 300whp. only pros of going for the V6 in the is350 and and is300 awd is that they are proven reliable while making like 260whp
Yes you absolutely need to tune your car if you’re changing any OEM components on the drivetrain. The engine is designed for these original parts and has been precisely tuned for them. If you change them, the tune needs to be changed to accommodate the extra air flow.
My bro I want my turbo to be as loud as yours as far as the spoosh but I’ve heard through many mechanics that’s adding a cold air intake well mess up your turbo and engine, have you experienced any issues on your car ? Such as more wear and tear on filter or more oil changes ? Or any issues at all ? I appreciate your feed back in advance big fan of your car
Hey I have had no problems at all with me having the car with an intake for about 15k miles now. I do know of the concerns especially with the turbo using a bypass valve and having a MAF sensor, but I personally haven't had any issues at all. I do have the Racechip tune which makes the "blow off valve" noise louder. I don't think you'll run into any problems though.

That, and I'd pay just to find out a Civic has more power than me 😄
@michaelencarnacion3811 I'm at a 24mpg average. That's with mixed city and hwy. I usually floor it enough to get the "blow off valve" sound too 😄 so I'm sure that doesn't help
nice ride... your missing the hps charge pipe and tti motor sports valve spacer! I have the same ride but missing the race chip. Is the Race chip really worth it?
I've been thinking about the charge pipe but I figure the car won't be driven too fast anyway ..."2slo4u status 😄". The Race Chip makes a huge difference though. I drove with it off for like a week to troubleshoot a Check Engine Light and the car felt so slow. Whether Race Chip or another tune, it definitely wakes the car up.
hey man i had a quick question. did u wrap or spray paint the side mirrors? and which brand (wrap or paint) did you use? my current carbon winged style mirrors are getting old and i wanted to spray or wrap the carbon to match it with my white lexus body.
Hey, I plastidippped the whole car and the mirrors got dipped too. Since the mirror caps are pretty small maybe you could spray can paint match it then clear it with some 2k clear.
Hey bro to get that swwoosh sound louder will the Racechip help me? I have the swoosh sound by replacing the intake but I only replaced the air filter box with a intake but it didn’t come with the chrome bar (if that makes sense) because im in CA lmao thats all I couldve got my hands on for now. I was looking at a racechip but wouldnt I need to tune it? How is the install? Plug and play or do I need a mechanic/tuner to make it work?
@comptonbornraised5873 hey, so the racechip will definitely make the sound louder. Without the Racechip, the sound is quick and little quieter, but with the racechip the sound is louder and like a burst. You can check out my short to see an inside the car sound (I have the mic in my engine bay). Racechip or any flash tuner can be installed by yourself. It's very easy to install. I just watched videos on RUclips when I installed mine

@comptonbornraised5873 hey Sorry for the slow reply. I got busy with work. Racechip will have different settings you can use so you just choose one of them as your tune. I bought the app too so I can switch between tunes if I want to but I always leave it on Race. I can't say if Racechip is the very best but I've never had any problems with it. There may be better ones out there too which if I can find info on them, I wouldn't mind switching
I drilled a slit into the oem blank to feed the wires through then its just double sided taped on. It's a much cleaner look and fits perfectly in that area.
its not the throttle controller that gives limp mode, its the piggyback tuner (racechip). I have both and when the throttle controller and racechip are on highest setting, i get limp mode when going too hard. The boost pressure being produced is maxing out the turbo and alerts the ECU. BUT, when throttle controller is on highest setting but racechip is on lowest, there is still considerable power gains and NEVER limp mode in my experience. I've redlined multiple times on each setup just to try and tinker with the settings to find the most optimal one with the best power gains and no limp mode whatsoever.
@@MattyManRC300 sorry do some research its a know issue very dangerous did to me on sport mode has nothing to do with the setting it comes from all controllers taking power from the pedal it over volts it your lucky so far lots of people have had this problem
@@MattyManRC300?I've had a hell of a time with my racechip piggy back I finally yanked it out. I got tired of watching how I drove it just didn't make sense, i wasnt beating the hell out of it. After all my research I'm eyeing the D3 performance Tune.

I have tested every single setting on the RaceChip before and the only setting that works perfectly and does not give me "limp mode" or any other issues is between 1-3 or in "Eco" mode. But, ya D3 or JB4 allows way more customization, but I don't think the power gains are as good as the tune from RaceChip or VividRacing.

Not a real relocate but you'll have to take off one bolt (If I remember right) and take it off a hose holder for it to be free enough to move out the way of the strut bar
@tman5293 It for sure has contact with the black under hood protection thing. It's not too bad but I can see little rub marks on the strut bar. I don't see anything on the engine cover that indicates rubbing though, although it is pretty tight and if it is rubbing, the strut bar covers it
I've looked in to it but I believe it connects to the same harness that the Race Chip plugs in to so I'm not sure how that'll work. I think the Race Chip ups the boost a little too.
@@doubleclutchin6860 unfortunately I dont :( . I can't even add an aftermarket boost gauge to the car. It's electronic so the vacuum is different I guess. I tried tapping into different vacuum hoses to see if I could get a reading and nothing. It does to up to a little past 1.5 bar on the oem gauge cluster though. OEM is about 13-15 peak psi I believe.

This intake actually goes to the turbo so I'm sure the air gets hotter there but then it passes through the intercooler where it'll be cooled down before going into the intake manifold.

Damn nice ride! I got a Lexus RC 300 with a similar setup (racechip, hps CAI & charge pipe, TTI turbo muffler delete, Go Fast Bits DV+, catback, waiting on downpipe). I love how my car sounds, low boost - turbo flutter, high boost - "psh" sound lol with a spit of pressurized air in between shifts on high boost. I love how clean your caar is though. my dumbass never got ceraamic coating or ppf :( i got some rock chips on my front bumper and hood....
@@2slo4u honestly no change in sound. The biggest changes in sound were from the apexi mid pipe with res delete. Im REALLY looking forward to seeing how the RR Racing downpipe with GESI cats sounds. I dont want to have to remove the downpipe every year for emissions and the smell lol. I have a question for you though. I always keep my racechip on eco mode because putting in on race or sport would cause limp mode. What has your experience been like on race mode all the time? Are you flooring it a lot when you drive? I saw another comment here saying that the throttle controller would do that, but i havent had any issues whatsoever with the throttle controller and racechip on the lowest settings. It definitely is still very fun to drive though lol

I just want to have it just in case, since it can get pretty hot in the summer here in Colorado, and there are times when I like to go on long drives and go hard, so i don't want any issues with overheating the OEM pipe
@COMPETlTION I have my throttle controller on "red" mode which is the most sporty setting and I have my race chip on Race mode all the time. I just drive the car like normal and it gives me the power I need. Haven't had any issues with the combo for about 2 years now since I've installed them together. One without the other is definitely noticeable

@@bluesky-ud9wg My CAI temps are always 3-5 degrees above ambient temps. The CAI is AWAY from the turbo/downpipe (AKA THERMAL ENERGY). What are YOU talking about?

Careful with that throttle controller known problems with limp mode or worse gives throttle when you dont want it 😬

Did you relocate the auxiliary coolant reservoir to fit the strut tower brace?
Not a real relocate but you'll have to take off one bolt (If I remember right) and take it off a hose holder for it to be free enough to move out the way of the strut bar

No blow off valve or bypass valve. The "bov" noise is coming from the intake
