    My time is precious and i dont always have time to prep for a campaign as well as i should. You reading the book to me helps things sink in, helps me to recall information better when in the momment of the campaign. Keep reading the book.

    Fantastic video!
    I don't know how anyone can retain even a sliver of all of this info to be able to run this with any sort of proficiency and not be referencing the source material constantly. I really want to run this, but like CoS... I've looked at these modules many times in stores and always put them back thinking "Well, THAT's never going to happen." LOL

      I hope to make all Game Masters feel confident and prepared to run any adventure! I hope these videos didn't discourage you 😔

      @@YourPocketGM Hardly. It's just looking through a module that's several hundred pages is daunting AF. Especially knowing that PC's are going to be in this massive city with curiosity engrained. The thought of them ending up wondering into a place that I haven't even reviewed has me a bit freaked out. I tend to over prepare in general, but that's pretty easy to handle on a one-shot or in a small town.

      @@asraiSOA If you're so interested that you've looked at them repeatedly, you should give it a try! Just be honest with your players up front that you find the amount of material really daunting, and so you can keep track of which subplots are still open, and end each session by asking them which plots they want to pursue next time. That way you can prepare for the specific things they intend to do. If you're playing with decent people, they'll understand completely that the game world is huge and the game will be more fun for everyone if their DM has a chance to be familiar with the right chunk of it on a given day.

      @@Eladelia Thank you for that and great advice. Yes, my group would be more than willing to be cooperative in that fashion. Hell, they're just happy to be playing and that I decided to start running a game! Thus far, I've weaved together several one-shots that morphed into Lost Mine.
      I have since picked up several of the WotC adventures and am leaning towards either this one or The Wild Beyond the Witchlight. I'm very intrigued by both settings and I think my group would really be into it.
      Anyway, again, thank you for the input!

    If PCs don’t want Volo’s offer of that closed old tavern what should a DM do to keep the adventure going?

    • @YourPocketGM
      @YourPocketGM  Год назад +4

      Sounds like they're not that great at adventuring! I'd make up a story about a hidden treasure within the tavern and turn the basement into a small dungeon with a magic item or two inside.

    This is great content but most of it is you reading from the book verbatim. Not sure how that's a guide...
