if you don't want pvp don't play, the entire game is centered around pvp and raiding others, and as a person who regularly plays. the community is toxic af and they will use you as a loot bag when your new, if you get lucky you might make friends but normally people will betray you , murder you even if your naked just for sport. I'm not saying this to be snide or an asshole just being completely honest. they have aim training servers and, modules for aim labs to practice your gun play as well as build servers for practicing building and PVE only servers for just chilling farming and running around learning the controls and stuff.
And then it Z1 became Z gone. Cause they would not be able to play again. Im glad they actualy went with the private server solo playing. Cause if other players was in there now, he would not get any rest.

You can make one locally without renting servers, I've been doing it for years to test out new base designs and going through new monuments before I join a server.
I normally hate Rust as a game. It's just not something I find fun in the slightest. I love survival games but hate the competitive nature of rust, along side it's "wipes" it has that removes progress. The idea of having your stuff get stolen or destroyed because you happen to not be playing for a day always seemed super dumb to me, and defeated the point in ever trying the game. That being said, I've never heard of the concept of someone playing rust completely alone, no other players. It might really change the dynamic enough for someone like myself to find it enjoyable. I look forwards to watching the video :D
Before playing the game on official servers I played like this so I could get the hang of the mechanics of the game, also you don't need to rent a server to have a single player experience.

Really need someone who really knows how to maintain a server. They can add events and stuff like that. The events are brutal at times. But the loot is significant.

I would recommend to finde a PvE server if you want some content out of this. Or you can mod your server with zombies if you want some action and can make som funny content. I know its your first time ,but just let you know you can do this. And another tip when you build a house you need to place down a cupboard or your base will decay after some time and you will loose everything. And its probly many people in the comment section here who have hundreds of hours in this game who can learn you some tips an trix. I have almost 3000hours in this game and probly more people here who has more hours than me. :)
Spawn on the beach with a rock. Get killed by AK wielding weirdos yelling racial slurs within 5 minutes. That's the Rust multiplayer experience. Rust solo can be fun though
Playing solo kinda defies alot of the game... not that I recommend playing it on official servers, but can't you like, invite some friends and make two teams or so? ^^ Like alot of people do with 7DtD, tho that game you can play solo cus of the zombie waves... this game doesn't sound challanging at all playing solo... Just alot of gathering and building.
Nobody is sleeping on this game. While yes, it's a nicely done game, the multiplayer community is EXTREMELY toxic and you can't even survive as a solo player. You need to band together a fairly good sized group of people to be able to build and craft fast enough to create a well enough defended base before the toxic raiders come rolling in.
don't forget you also need a few people to be online 24/7 as well otherwise when you come back everything you had/built will be gone Lol Rust is a perfect example of how a toxic community can literally kill a game, cause of course no one is sleeping on this game its over a decade old Lol (last time i played was back in 2014 according to steam Lol)

Rust has been out for Years. It is a PVP War Zone. It's kill or be killed. Solo Rust is an adventure to say the least. Playing solo is an exercise in patience. YOU WILL get killed a lot. Learn from your mistakes. Keep playing and you will get the gist of it. Try solo only servers with a lower Pop so you can learn the ropes. When you get the hang of it go to higher pop servers & team up with some friends or try & make friends yourself. It really isn't that hard. Frustrating & toxic at times, but what PVP isn't? Willjum is a great solo player. His videos can teach you a thing or 2.
Mans made a full on rp base, and put doors on twig ☠. man's needs to upgrade to wood at the least or 2 seconds a hatchet and some spite and you could foundation wipe it XD

solo Rust makes me think of Subsistence
